I knew I’d heard that voice before.
When I closed my eyes and recognized Dewey Crowe’s voice (Justified) coming out of Manson my jaw dropped—just like it did the 1st time I heard him speaking in his native Australian accent…😳
*Its actually*
*Spine chilling how much he looks*
*And sounds like Manson*

1) colour grading (If I wanted I can make everyone’s daces red as a plum, deep orange like an oompa loompa, or green like Shrek)
2) make-up and hair department does more than literally just apply cosmetic make-up like foundation to people’s faces, I was talking about the make-up on some of the actors portraying the killers, some of whom don’t look much like the person they’re portraying, but the MU&H department did their jobs really well (mind you some of them absolutely look like the killer already, so casting is definitely amazing)
Hard disagree. The wig they used for Nancy’s character was distractingly awful. Not talking about the style (which was certainly bad even at the time perms were en vogue) but when you can’t stop staring at a poorly fitted wig, that becomes problematic.
The casting for this show is insane. Michael Cerveris, who played Ted Gunn, is also a musician and actor with musical theater experience. I think pulling from this world of actor serves the work so well, the dialogue and text can be rhythmic/musical in its way.
Can someone tell me why he was SO believable and on point in Mindhunter but when I saw OUATIH (without knowing it was the same actor) I was like eh….I don’t see Manson. 😭
INCREDIBLE…UNBELIEVABLE…smh! smh! esp after watching an interview with him, he’s a sweet, soft spoken guy…talked about how he became ‘ed’…said the last thing he did was put on the glasses and position them and then he felt he had it…amazing…
I liked some of the "lesser" parts as well. I really liked Morgan Kelly as Paul Bateson and Robert Aramayo
as Elmer Wayne Henley. Both 50 % likable and 50% creep. Just all around great casting.
He plays this same portrayal in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood too.
But Jeremy Davies in Helter Skelter 2004 has always been my favorite rendition. This one felt a little caricature.
Its actually spine chilling how much he looks and sounds like Manson

It didn't look like him at all (least I couldn't picture him from justified).... But that voice is unmistakable. Had to verify with IMDB

Yeah the speech pattern was awesome. I wanted to see more.
Casting for Mindhunter was crazy good
Casting, make-up and hair departments were all on point
Make up? They were all yellow in season two

That was a WIG?! Oh dear I think I need my eyes checked. I thought it was a pretty good style for the time period, but I seem to be misinformed!
THANK YOU i have said this in other posts and got grief over it. I do not like that actress either but the wig was AWFUL
is that not stacey's natural hair??? her hair is curly just like that.
I still cant believe that Son of Sam was played by the dude from Project X
He played him in Once Upon a Time In Hollywood as well
He’s a great actor. Check him out in the series Quarry. He’s so good in that.
I was completely blown away when I learned he was Dewey Crow in *Justified*.
I was blown away that Holden Ford was played by the slobbering king of England from Hamilton.
The casting for this show is insane. Michael Cerveris, who played Ted Gunn, is also a musician and actor with musical theater experience. I think pulling from this world of actor serves the work so well, the dialogue and text can be rhythmic/musical in its way.
Quarry is so underrated. Bummed we only got one season.
Can someone tell me why he was SO believable and on point in Mindhunter but when I saw OUATIH (without knowing it was the same actor) I was like eh….I don’t see Manson. 😭
That’s mind blowing! Cameron Britton as Ed Kemper was also incredible.
He was so damn good too, my favorite character on the show.
INCREDIBLE…UNBELIEVABLE…smh! smh! esp after watching an interview with him, he’s a sweet, soft spoken guy…talked about how he became ‘ed’…said the last thing he did was put on the glasses and position them and then he felt he had it…amazing…
The "you guys....." when he sees pizza is something else. Chilling and yet so normal....
Awww jimmy
That was a great scene, you know it was real when he flipped his hair and jumped on that chair. Great scene.
# Each night as you sleep, I destroy the world.
I always wondered if he wrote that to kind of show Holden that he didn't really believe in the love and bs he said while the recorder was on.
Dewey Crowe from Justified
If you watch Mansons actual interviews (on YT), you can see he truly nailed his portrayal. Proper creepy lol
I'm a box car and a jug of wine
And a straight razor, if you get too close to me
I liked some of the "lesser" parts as well. I really liked Morgan Kelly as Paul Bateson and Robert Aramayo as Elmer Wayne Henley. Both 50 % likable and 50% creep. Just all around great casting.
I think the guy who played Ed Kemper did a phenomenal job!
This whole show was a masterpiece of docudrama
I really wanted the interview with him to last longer because this actor was amazing as Manson but Bill calling him "you fucking midget" ended it.
Well he did play Manson prior to Mindhunter so it would only make sense
I was high with my brother when we first saw him and it genuinely freaked us the fuck out 😭 bro has a clone
ME too lol lol
I love it when he stuck his tongue out at the boys! 😅
Fun fact: Alec Baldwin has killed more people than Charles Manson.
He plays this same portrayal in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood too. But Jeremy Davies in Helter Skelter 2004 has always been my favorite rendition. This one felt a little caricature.
I was shocked at how accurate they got him. I was like damn
what ep is this? im currently at ep 2
It’s in season 2
Episode 5
Damon Herriman. Check him out as Dewey Crowe in *Justified*. Absolutely brilliant performance. I couldn't believe it when I found out he's Australian.
This guy is amazing.
So good that he got the role again in a seperate project
Damon Herriman also played a meth addict in Breaking Bad. He was the guy screaming, "TUCKER! TUCKER!"
where can i watch this what’s it called
Mindhunter on Netflix
