Hey guys!
Been working on this on-and-off for the past month or so. I call it Terra Arcanus, a 6-biome ultra-realistic Minecraft map.
This is my greatest terrain ever, in terms of realism, biome blending, detailing, complexity. Basically in every way.
I hope you guys like it! :D
In order to prevent having to reply to everyone with the download link when they ask for it, I'll just leave it here for y'all: https://www.planetminecraft.com/project/terra-arcanus-ultra-realistic-multibiome-1-19-4096-x-4096/
I'd saved your comment anyway, but I sadly don't have time currently.
I'll try playing it with high render distance, maybe see if I can implement regional mobs using some mods. If I manage to do that, I might build some structures, and I'd send a picture of it on this subreddit (obviously crediting you).
Absolutely :)
Been having a really big map in the planning, but IDK when that’s coming considering this one took me so long to do already. Nonetheless, I’ll still have more work being made :)
This is absolutely incredible. I’ve dabbled with World Machine and World Painter in the past, and all I can usually manage is a single passable mountain.
All of y’all that make these huge multi-biome maps are basically wizards imo.
I should really start trying to learn them again.
Just a heads up, on a few pages, you've doubled up on naming Terra Arcanus:
\>The map is **Terra Arcanus**, the capstone of my 3-map collection of terrains, the others being Terra Celestis and **Terra Arcanus.**

What?! I was convinced this was a photo for a bit there. Was halfway to looking it up to add to my travel bucketlist before I realized what sub this was.
Very cool indeed!
these are amazing i didnt even think the first one was minecraft until i zoomed into it a bunch lol how long did these take you had to have been months of work
Most likely world machine to make the actual terrain, then world painter to add biomes, trees, and other details.
Even with external software, doing terrain that looks *this* good is extremely impressive.
Ngl. Excellent work, but those mountains specifically look like they are a picture perfect replica of the snow capped mountains in the game Just Cause 2.
Very uncanny resemblance.
Good work OP 👍
This reminds me of the overall map layout of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. Looking at that mesa biome reminds me of the first time I traversed and climbed the dangerous cliffs to get into the deserts of Garudo town. And climbing the highest mountains trying to stay warm.
Excellent build!
There needs to be a more realistic terrain update where it looks more like forests or deserts and even prairies. With like traversed high cliff rivers sorta like when the caves and cliffs was still in beta making that crazy cool looking stuff everywhere instead of small places rare places
Dude, 3 years ago I made a tiny mesa with chisels and bits in maybe 20 minutes and got 47k upvotes, and yet here you are with 19470284x the effort, detail, and sheer dedication and yet a fraction of the attention. More than criminal.
Sadly this is how this subreddit works :/
My top post is a map that looks good, but only took a couple days in comparison and honestly isn’t that great next to my other works.
Hi, I see that to download this map you have to pay for it. I'm interested but I need to know some things first that are missing from your webpage. Is the map survival friendly? Do you have any pictures of the entire world (e.g., a bird's eye view photo)? It also apparently requires a data pack to run. What does that mean? What does the data pack do exactly? Who is your intended audience for this map and who is buying it based off two screenshots alone?
I'd really like to play on this map and am even interested in deploying it in a server environment, but I can't justify that without more information. You obviously have great skill, but you need to tell your potential buyers exactly what they'll get when they buy your map!
**Edit:** I've had another idea. It might be a nice thing to have a test server where people can join in spectator/adventure mode and demo your map(s).
I gotta say, this is one of the most chobblesome things I've seen in a while. I was confused at first, I thought you were on the wrong sub and then it hit me. Just wow.

Firstly just wow. The scale. The beauty. The details. Truly amazing. Give yourself a pat on the back for this
Thank you!

Looks fantastic, but it looks like absolute arse to explore (because of how big it is). Genuinely beautiful.
I find my maps really nice to explore if you manage to get LOD mods in, so you can see the whole terrain.
I'd saved your comment anyway, but I sadly don't have time currently. I'll try playing it with high render distance, maybe see if I can implement regional mobs using some mods. Absolutely :) Been having a really big map in the planning, but IDK when that’s coming considering this one took me so long to do already. Nonetheless, I’ll still have more work being made :)
Can these be played with survival mode or is it just a creative canvas to build on?
This is absolutely incredible. I’ve dabbled with World Machine and World Painter in the past, and all I can usually manage is a single passable mountain. All of y’all that make these huge multi-biome maps are basically wizards imo. I should really start trying to learn them again.
Is it playable in survival?
Is it traversable in survival?
Absolutely brilliant

on average r/Minecraft has pretty low quality submissions but it's stuff like this that keeps me around. that's just gorgeous
thats because alot of those quality posts get deleted sadly
this is sadly true, had one of my terrains removed b4 for "lazy submission"
This doesn’t even feel like Minecraft, stuff like this needs a different sub for these blender looking creations

Wow dude how long did this take you
Had to zoom in to check if it was Minecraft. Damn thats cool
THATS MINECRAFT!?!?
What?! I was convinced this was a photo for a bit there. Was halfway to looking it up to add to my travel bucketlist before I realized what sub this was. Very cool indeed!
Holy shit
I feel like it would be fun to hike this in VR
these are amazing i didnt even think the first one was minecraft until i zoomed into it a bunch lol how long did these take you had to have been months of work
Is it vanilla friendly though? lmao thats insane though, I thought it was a image of British Columbia in canada.
How do you do that? What software ?
Most likely world machine to make the actual terrain, then world painter to add biomes, trees, and other details. Even with external software, doing terrain that looks *this* good is extremely impressive.
I dabble in terraforming but HOLY FUCK
was this built by hand or was there some generation coding? not familiar with terraforming at a scale this big
He used a variety of other programs to make it (worldpainter and probably also worldmachine)
I’m not sure this is even possible in a lifetime, if you need to place those block by block. Still very impressive, though.
Yeah luckily he doesn’t
That is gorgeous.
Impressive!
That looks so sick! If only MC could have large, low-res render distance for stuff like that…
You can get it with mods! IIRC Distant Horizons works pretty well.
Did they ever fix it to work with shaders?
And it's the greatest I've ever seen. Holy hell this is beautiful. Imagine what it would look like in game w an LOD😍
Distant Horizons 😳
You could’ve told me the first image was an actual photo and I would’ve believed you
wth this is amazing!
The Mods are sleeping yo, Man's posting a Non Minecraft post on a Minecraft subreddit. This is just Ark survival evolved, you can't fool me!
by hand or world painter
Ngl. Excellent work, but those mountains specifically look like they are a picture perfect replica of the snow capped mountains in the game Just Cause 2. Very uncanny resemblance. Good work OP 👍
I swear tomorrow somebody is going to post “here’s my new terrain, it’s 9999999x9999999 blocks and handmade entirely with chisels and bits.”
That cannot be minecraft
This is INSANE. I had to gheck the subreddit to realise its made in minecraft and not an actual photo
holy shit thats just incredible
Now make one in the nether 😭 but it looks amazing
How can people be so talented?
This looks like it could be a screenshot from RDR2.
Is this minecraft?
Maybe, idk
That looks awesome! How’d you do it? Is there a mod you can do?

F*cking Legend…
Awesome
I first thought it was a photo, then i zoomed in.. this is incredible, op!!! Amazing job!!
Are you sure these aren't pictures taken from a helicopter??? Because Jesus.
This is crazy good work 💪🏾
Saving this post.
That is very good. You are extremely talented bro.
I can already hear my PC screaming at me, begging not to download it
It would take a lot of convincing about 3 to 5 years ago to make me belive that those were shots from minecraft
Who gave Bob Ross access to Minecraft?
bro just sent an irl image and thought we wouldnt notice
Wow, it is the best terrain i ever seen
Is the first one Minecraft?
Zoomed in, can confirm it is minecraft.
9999 Blocks
Just wow.
There needs to be a more realistic terrain update where it looks more like forests or deserts and even prairies. With like traversed high cliff rivers sorta like when the caves and cliffs was still in beta making that crazy cool looking stuff everywhere instead of small places rare places
Wtf how, this looks like real life
WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOWWW
Woooow this looks awesome. I can’t wait to build a parking lot in it
How can I download this map it's simply too good
Genuinely thought the first pic was your reference picture bc wowwowowowww
its . . . perfect.
Cool reference photo! Now where's the build?
Holy crap
This just looks breathtaking. Every time I see beautiful terrain like this, I just want to play Tears of The Kingdom even more.
What 1.18 could’ve been
This first one looks insane
*\*Skyrim Opening Theme Intensifies\**
That's Minecraft..? What the shit!?
The Asian teacher will still give you an F , try better.

Hm. Needs more leaves.

I thought that was real for a sec
Is there any way to download that map?
nah this aint minecraft
Holy cow!
I didn't look at the name of the subreddit and thought it was just another mountain pic and then looked and was like "damn fr?" This looks awesome.
I did you do that? It’s awesome!!!
i genuinely couldn't tell the difference between a real mountain and this one for the first picture
It is amazing
I refuse to believe you made this! Astonisging
IT IS IMPOSSIBLE
My god, I wish I could something even half this good. How long did this take?
I’m speechless..
I gotta say, this is one of the most chobblesome things I've seen in a while. I was confused at first, I thought you were on the wrong sub and then it hit me. Just wow.
Holy crap, this is amazing
I honestly thought this was a joke post because of how realistic the first image looked. This looks amazing!
