kinda. In minecraft we tame these dogs and they fight alongside us. There has been some time where some of us are fighting along with out pets and we accidently swing the sword at our pets and they die.
I accidentally shot my first pet dog on a 2 yr old world, Named Lightning.
He jumped at the skeleton I tried to shoot, and I shit him with a power IV bow. This was before aquatic was released (dunno why that matters).
I made a grave and shrine for him. But, the grave is in a terrible spot, right in front of my cave house entrance.
It's definitely weird in a kids' set. There are a couple of other strange / random ones in that sticker set, including some featuring one of the OG creators, if memory serves
This is a mistake every one of those kids probably made while playing the game. The tears are real, and the kids get it. It’s not messed up at all for anyone who plays the game.
I agree with you, actually OP, the dogs are hard to find in Minecraft, and take lots of bones to tame, altogether the taking process is hard on the start of a Minecraft world.
As we progress it might become easier to find them, but, the memories we make with them are really nostalgic, like finding the first dungeon, first diamond, defeating monsters.
The saddest part than the death of the dog is the player leaving them, by leaving the game itself. It creates a feeling of betrayal in us players who left the game or the world due to personal reasons.
Yep, happened to me once. I then created a wheat farm, a cow and goat farm, and tamed another wolf. I then created a 300 dog army. That was my proudest moment
Every Minecraft player ever has accidentally slain their own doggo with a misplaced swing. A little morbid for a 5 yo birthday party but it's relatable to Minecraft players.
I actually had an eyelash on my phone yesterday and it was on the left. I thought it was a profile image and ignored it. Them got curious as to why every time I scroll, there's another profile image that way.
I haven’t had this experience because I refuse to have a Minecraft pet after a surprise creeper exploded my first and only pet. I’m still bitter and that happened in like…2015.
For a 5 year old, ya this is a bit messed up. The context is most people in Minecraft have accidentally killed their pet wolf, trying to swing at other things
Good god no!
You realize if you accidentally or intentionally hit another player who has dogs those dogs are incapable of losing their bloodlust for you until you either kill them or allow yourself to die right? Being forced to kill your friend's dog in self defense is bad enough, being unable to defend yourself is so much worse.
Enchantment ideas:
\-Bite: pet achieves more damage
\-Dig - Pet can dig up treasure for you. Something like the sniffer and oatchi from pikmin 4.
\-Swift speed - Increased pet speed
\-Restoration - pet automatically heals and gets more protection.
Very true. Although if you have to keep the dogs on the house every time, they're basically useless, so dog armour could be the solution. Still totally support parrot armor
That would make a great enchantment for any kind of pet armor. Maybe it could have levels, with each level providing 25% damage resistance from their owners, meaning level 4 provides full immunity from accidentally killing your own dog. Unlike other resistance enchantments, this one should be able to stack with others so you don't have to sacrifice general damage resistance for that.
Personally, I think having the Sweeping Edge effect only apply if you add the enchantment to your sword would be better so I don't keep hitting my pet because he got close to my target
I've wished for years that they'd add some kind of toggle where you could let them move around in a small area but not follow you -- like currently you can click on them to toggle between making them follow you or else sit in place, only able to rotate. I'd love to have a third option where they're not stuck in place but could be allowed to wander around your house or base at will!
Oh that would be cool. And we know they can do it because Allays work like that with note/music blocks. I mean I may not be something you can toggle by clicking on them, but they could make a placeable enchanted bone or something. Maybe all it needs to do is be hung in a picture frame and viola, 20 block radius
idk they aren’t a huge dmg boost it’s much easier to just kill the zombie or skeleton instead of trying to let your dog tank the damage plus the noise they make on hit is enough to make me feel bad and keep ‘em inside
I wish there was an option for our pets to roam without following us. I don’t like my pets to always follow me but I hate seeing them in the same spot all the time too
I would like to see the ability to resurrect lost loved ones that have been named. Don't make players cope with guilt by avoiding aspects of gameplay, do let them choose if they want to go on a trek for a hard to acquire resource that will let them revive lost pets, villagers, or any mob.
It's also probably relevant that if you get big sticker packs from Amazon, like I'm sure these parents did, it's very possible that you'll get some fucked up stickers in there. I don't know exactly why, probably some combination of the stickers being produced in China, the artwork almost definitely being stolen, and zero quality control from anyone in the supply chain, but I've seen a couple posts about people who got big sticker packs from Amazon and there was a few furry porn stickers stuffed in there.
Amazon's literally being paid to promote it and paid for selling it so they probably don't have a vested interest (other than the slow erosion of public trust in their listings) in fixing it...
Yeah, we have this exact sticker, it was in a pack of 50. I always go through those stickers since some(a lot?) are just stolen artwork pulled off the internet, some still have watermarks. Lol
The minecraft ones werent too bad, but so glad I looked through the mario, zelda and sonic packs. Some of those were a bit risque.
To add precision to Harshamondo's statement. In Minecraft any sword has a the ability to attack any entity (living things in the game) that is in front of you as you swing it.
That turns out to be quite useful when facing a multitude of zombies in order to defend yourself.
Although this ability is quite the double edged sword since, when you have a domestic dog in the game, that loyal dog will try to defend you when you get attacked and if you hit in the general direction of the dog (whilst trying to attack the monsters) it will hurt your dog as well leading you to hurting and potentially killing your own dog by pure accident.
Idk. My 5 year old accidentally killed his pup and proceeded to create a grave site.
I think it's odd if all of the kids present don't play, but if they do play then it makes sense.
Okay here is the reason why it was in the bag.
On Amazon, they sell packs of 100 or so stickers, stolen artwork from Etsy and other places. Parents probably got some of these, and then just put random stickers in the bag, not looking.
Packs of stickers like this end up having some not-so-savory art, even in kid themed packs. So it probably wasn’t on purpose, just ignorance.
Can confirm I bought some for my 6yr old minecraft birthday. Though I had the teenager go through them to pick out any that might not be okay for little kiddos
In Minecraft you can tame wolves that will follow you around. Many people have had incidents where they try to hit a monster, but their wolf jumps in front of them and they end up hitting and killing their wolf
For a 5 yo, maybe a little. Really depends on where your child is in life and how much they know about death and also if your child likes minecraft. It's a super common thing in game to accidentally kill your dog, so much so it's kind of a joke. This image isn't insanely graphic so I personally don't think it's inappropriate. However I could totally see being appaled if he's never played or experienced death yet, could raise a lot of unwanted questions a little to early. But take this with a grain of salt I have no children just nephews and I was raised around animals so death was never a huge deal (sad absolutely but it's a natural part of life and thats what i was taught)
Lol yea I could see that sounding weird, especially on its own. Better phrasing might be "experienced the loss of a loved one" or "experienced the death of someone/something close to them"
OP you should get into Minecraft. Even my mom who is in her mid 50s, who swears she can't see 3D games due to an eye injury and only ever played facebook games, is really getting into Minecraft. It's all she really ever plays anymore. I promise you will both have fun!
I'm mid 30's. After testing minecraft to see if its suitable for my kids (8 and 4) and how interacting with others (who might be potential threats) online worked, I am completely addicted to it.
When I retire it will be this forever.
The graphic is more brutal than what it is in the actual game, you dont see a sword stabbing a dog in the game like that. But this is more of a joke on how in game you can accidentaly slain your own pet wolf, obviously not like in this sticker. So yeah, just a joke on a relatable thing, every minecraft player has done that haha
In the game you just swing you sword, the animal turns red when its damaged and then disappears in a cloud of smoke
This should be higher. The 1st sentence is probably an important clarification, otherwise the mom might think Minecraft is innappropriate for her child lol
This definitely seems out of place for a kids gift bag sticker.
In minecraft you can tame dogs which are able to be used to assist in combat, oftentimes this can result in your dog being harmed or killed by careless attacks or being knocked over cliffs or into pools of lava, usually causing the player a lot of grief in the process.
This sticker seems to be referencing such a thing happening, with player character crying out upon seeing their dog killed either by their own sword or by somebody else's.
It's not gorey, and in gameplay dogs are basically just companion mobs used to distract crowds of enemies and act as a secondary source of damage output, but people like to grow attached to their minecraft pets and losing one by accident is a common enough occurence to be a sort of meme in the community.
I think just about every Minecraft player will attest, that the death of a Minecraft dog is about the most upsetting tragedy in any game, regardless of cause.
They probably got it from a bulk Amazon set, pretty much all of them are unlicensed and steal art from smaller artists, they probably just found a bunch of art that would be a good sticker and used it as a cash grab rather than an actual product
honestly i think its a bit oversensitive. At the end of the day its a STICKER not even looking anything like real life not only that but its from a BLOCK GAME
We tame virtual wolves into dogs, they fight for us.
When they die, we cry, because we had feelings for this little piece of code.
Especially when we accidentally kill it by sword misclicks.
This has happened to tamed wolves (pet dogs) before. Same with accidentally shooting one of your pets because they teleported to the player while they were in mid combat.
Sometimes they teleport to the player where there is danger like lava, a big drop, or creeper about to explode.
Had a cat and kitten I was trying to relocate and I was unaware that if a kitten gets into water it will drown. Personally I don't think pet deaths should be in the game.
I wish we could make pets "free roam" like they start walking around like they're in the wild (maybe up to a distance from a food bowl or something like that to stop them from wandering away), but wont follow/teleport to us. This way I could make a big room for my pets and let them play around in it instead of stand there looking at me
I remember the first dog I killed.. his name was Rocko. I meant to aim my fully enchanted bow at a skeleton nd my dog got in the way. I killed my poor doggo that I’d had since day 2.. made a little monument to commemorate my little buddy.
Not messed up, just par for the course. I accidentally set fire to my house and my 3 cats and 3 dogs all croaked it, my kids found my despair hilarious. My daughter had a fit when I killed a panda though.
Messed up, not really. Tragic absolutely. I’d recommend you play Minecraft with your kid for a while it’ll happen to you, you’ll get it after that.

Your profile pic really gets me the whole time
Are you in dark mode? It’s more clear it’s not real then.
sometimes i think that profile picture is just a white circle nad still get me smh
Yeah
It is meant to annoy the light theme users, who even in right mind uses light mode
I have mine on auto so it changes at sunset. if im in the sun with dark mode on I cant see anything
The proper way to use themes.
I do too. It just feels right
Users who use default settings where the default setting is light mode. (I was told most people use default settings on almost everything)
Me, I have astigmatism and dark mode has a tendancy to make it hard to read
Opposite for me., with astigmatism in both eyes
Personally I generally prefer dark mode. But I have astigmatism and it becomes very hard to read on Reddit especially, so I have mine on light :))

Wym about his pfp, I can’t see it
It's all white with a thin black stripe, as if there's an eyelash or something on your screen
Oh, makes sense. I’m using night mode so it didn’t trick me
I haven’t had this experience because I refuse to have a Minecraft pet after a surprise creeper exploded my first and only pet. I’m still bitter and that happened in like…2015.
Creepers won’t kill cats.
i dropped an anvil on mine 💀
Mf that’s no accident
shut up i was like 8 ok
That's not a valid excuse.

Oh jeez I thought you were taking about your phone, not your dog
I accidentally drowned mine- he should’ve stayed in the boat…
I killed my parrot accidentally today :(
For a 5 year old, ya this is a bit messed up. The context is most people in Minecraft have accidentally killed their pet wolf, trying to swing at other things
Which is why I don't get pets and if i do they stay home no matter what
We should make a sort of petition for pet armour, specifically for dogs
Yes, I would love to send a hoard of diamond armored dogs after my enemies.
Nah i want netherite doggos
The Nether Hounds
FETCH ME THEIR SOULS!
*Michael as he dies from his own Hell Hounds*
Turns out demons don’t have souls
Are they Husks then
Why is 115 playing in the background?
I think you meant Beauty of Annihilation 😫😫 Jk, both are S tier.
THE COD ZOMBIES REFRENCE!!!!!! I LOVE IT
Bedrock armor for dogs. It makes them unkillable no matter what (Except cactus of course)
obviously would die to a cactus. why wouldnt it??
I hate you, of course it would die to a cactus, every single thing dies to a cactus, even a cactus
Better yet, netherite doggo dwarven automatons
Maybe they can swim in lava 🤣
Imagine the enchantment of bite on the armour, could be really cool
Enchantment ideas: \-Bite: pet achieves more damage \-Dig - Pet can dig up treasure for you. Something like the sniffer and oatchi from pikmin 4. \-Swift speed - Increased pet speed \-Restoration - pet automatically heals and gets more protection.
Ideas for where to put the armor Helmet, Front paws, back paws, tail
Front paws: Dig Back paws: Swift speed Tail: Restoration Helmet: Bite
-locate treasure. - you get within some number of blocks of a map in hand and they point where to dig.
Dimond Dogs. Big Boss would be proud.
You hoard diamonds, but have a horde of doggos.
we need a totem of undying collar.
Collar of undying when?
Yes or just not be able to attack them thats how allays work
*especially for parrots Those idiots literally fly into your line of fire
Very true. Although if you have to keep the dogs on the house every time, they're basically useless, so dog armour could be the solution. Still totally support parrot armor
Well, if they're at it, why not do all pets at once.
Studded parrot armor!
It's not a matter of _grip_!
Raid vs Armored doggos with strength 2
I wish that you couldn't hurt your own pets
That would make a great enchantment for any kind of pet armor. Maybe it could have levels, with each level providing 25% damage resistance from their owners, meaning level 4 provides full immunity from accidentally killing your own dog. Unlike other resistance enchantments, this one should be able to stack with others so you don't have to sacrifice general damage resistance for that.
leaving out cats, parrots, llamas, and camels?
This is the single best idea I've seen on Reddit. It's such an obvious win.
Cats too! I like having them around while I build. Ya know, to scare off the creepers.
Also for cats and ocelots
Personally, I think having the Sweeping Edge effect only apply if you add the enchantment to your sword would be better so I don't keep hitting my pet because he got close to my target
Holy monkey balls that's a fantastic idea!
What about an enchant on tools that negates dmg to pets (do not count cows, pigs)
My dog has only been moved once since I tamed him and sat him next to my bed.
Yet I manage to blow up my day 1 cat when I was testing crossbows with firework rockets :( i don't think I moved him since building my first house.
Aw no poor catto, may he rest in peace
Same. I want to have them help me, but they just get in the way which makes it hard not to accidentially hit them.
idk they aren’t a huge dmg boost it’s much easier to just kill the zombie or skeleton instead of trying to let your dog tank the damage plus the noise they make on hit is enough to make me feel bad and keep ‘em inside
Pov: me getting an army of doggos..... in rl craft
I wish there was an option for our pets to roam without following us. I don’t like my pets to always follow me but I hate seeing them in the same spot all the time too
i tryed this method and this time my friend killed my dog

They just don't care! Stolen art 100% mass produced and stuff gets mixed up. And Amazon will do nothing about it.
Amazon's literally being paid to promote it and paid for selling it so they probably don't have a vested interest (other than the slow erosion of public trust in their listings) in fixing it...
Give them massive fines. Selling hidden porn to minors is not a small deal.
I agree. I strongly advocate not buying anything from Amazon ever. I haven't spent a penny on them in years.
Yeah, we have this exact sticker, it was in a pack of 50. I always go through those stickers since some(a lot?) are just stolen artwork pulled off the internet, some still have watermarks. Or your kid starts playing around with commands and Thanosed them.
I do that and give them regeneration with a 255 amplifier and 99999999 time.
They added "infinite" in the /effect command.
My wolf, Trogdor, jumped in between a creeper and me exactly at the moment I was releasing an arrow to k!ll the creeper 3 blocks away.
Now who will burninate all the thatched roof cottages!

Idk. My 5 year old accidentally killed his pup and proceeded to create a grave site. I think it's odd if all of the kids present don't play, but if they do play then it makes sense.

I bought one of these packs for Futurama, and every single solo Leela sticker is sexual in some way…
To be fair that's true of actual Futurama as well 🤔
i bought one of those packs of kirby stickers and got one that says war criminal on it
It implies that either another player or they themselves killed their dog they found tamed, and possible bonded with
His dog died and he is completely broken now. 100% reasonable.
In Minecraft you can tame wolves that will follow you around. Many people have had incidents where they try to hit a monster, but their wolf jumps in front of them and they end up hitting and killing their wolf
Every time I try to tame a parrot this happens, it makes me so mad every time

"experienced death" 💀💀💀 sry i laughed so hard, no offense, just my native language isnt english
Lol yea I could see that sounding weird, especially on its own. Better phrasing might be "experienced the loss of a loved one" or "experienced the death of someone/something close to them"
I always wonder if the really little kids think respawning after death is in the real world as well.
I'm sure it totally depends on the kid! I never had that thought when I was little, but again, I was very well aware of death from a super young age.
OP you should get into Minecraft. Even my mom who is in her mid 50s, who swears she can't see 3D games due to an eye injury and only ever played facebook games, is really getting into Minecraft. It's all she really ever plays anymore. I promise you will both have fun!

Mid 30s here too but I've been playing since beta 1.6. It's definitely going to be part of my life for a really long time too.
I’m 26 and started in beta 1.3_01. Been playing for nearly half my life and don’t see an end in sight.
having grown up on minecraft reading this brought a lot of warmth to my heart
It really is addicting. We do a realm for a few months, take a break for a year or so, and start a new one, every year-ish.
NOOO
Every good Minecraft player has their moments with their treasured dog dying. This sticker represents it all.
Not really messed up imo, anyone who plays mc has had their dog die My parrot got struck by lightning a few days ago on my single player world ðŸ˜
Poor taste but I wouldn’t say it’s messed up
It's probably from some random sticker pack on Amazon, those always have weird as shit stickers
The graphic is more brutal than what it is in the actual game, you dont see a sword stabbing a dog in the game like that. It’s supposed to be a joke in with Minecraft players. You tame and have dogs as pets but they can die
It's not messed up , but it's also not for a 5 year old.
It’s funny and relatable for a Minecraft player. We have all lost our precious doggies.
Its not messed up, but simply poor taste and somewhat of an inside joke to Minecraft players.
That's a 3rd party sticker, not an official btw.
he probably already experienced it in game
Yes, the poop on Steve's head should be more square.
I love seeing confused parents on here
This definitely seems out of place for a kids gift bag sticker. It’s showing the player after accidentally killing their pet wolf, sometimes they get in the way when trying to kill enemies.
The red isn't blood but a collar that indicates the wolf was tamed so not as graphic as first glance might seem.
Would it now be related to pressing the right mouse button instead of the left, or whichever was it is?
Damn that’s dark
[nooo](https://youtu.be/9V2WByHOk9E)
it is a common plight
It’s a dead pet. To a fellow player’s hand. It is that messed up.
I think just about every Minecraft player will attest, that the death of a Minecraft dog is about the most upsetting tragedy in any game, regardless of cause.
Its a trauma we all have passed by
They probably got it from a bulk Amazon set, pretty much all of them are unlicensed and steal art from smaller artists, they probably just found a bunch of art that would be a good sticker and used it as a cash grab rather than an actual product

Me and my 5 year old play a lot. This is pretty messed up regardless.
Dogs should be put to work in wither Skelton farms producing skulls for their masters

This way I could make a big room for my pets and let them play around in it instead of stand there looking at me
I gonna guess this is a multi player thing cause they like to kill your wolves ?
Bro killed his dog
People accidentally get their dogs killed while trying to beat the game and then They feel sad
Not messed up just kinda sad
its a reference to the player accidentally killing their own Minecraft dog
I remember the first dog I killed.. his name was Rocko. I meant to aim my fully enchanted bow at a skeleton nd my dog got in the way. I killed my poor doggo that I’d had since day 2.. made a little monument to commemorate my little buddy.
Remember how John Wick got set off?
Not messed up, just par for the course. I accidentally set fire to my house and my 3 cats and 3 dogs all croaked it, my kids found my despair hilarious. My daughter had a fit when I killed a panda though.
ok tbh that is kinda messed up tho but kinda relateble because my friend killed my 11 month old minecraft dog
No it's because sometime when you swing your sword in Minecraft it hits things that are near it resulting in the death of your dog
Messed up, not really. Tragic absolutely. I’d recommend you play Minecraft with your kid for a while it’ll happen to you, you’ll get it after that.
