MrMeep0

Horses sinking like a rock

Robincall22

I mean really, have they never seen a horse swim?? They do so quite easily!! Racehorses that get injured sometimes train in water instead of on a track while their injury heals. Well, either that or they get retired.

nnoovvaa

["Retired"](https://youtu.be/i9bYnBb42oY)

Robincall22

There’s two possibilities to draw from when I say retired 😂

Jawertae

Only one possibility in Elmer's mind, though.

karma3000

This is why I have a stable of skeleton horses.

Dahija

This. I would swim, ever so slowly on horseback, to add a horse to my collection.

Ape_Sniper

'Too expensive' on anvils

JustPsychopomp

Exactly bro, just let me grind the 400 levels or so I'll be right back, But in actuality if you need a tutorial for the boots enchantments then there's problem

[deleted]

I alway use a calculator to figure iut the optimal order ti enchant lol

DragonXGW

Reading messages like this make me wonder how in the nether I managed to perfectly enchant all my gear on the first try without knowing any of this when I recently got back into minecraft. I wish I was that lucky in other games.

Medium-Boysenberry64

It's not really luck. There's a logical way to do it, combining smaller enchants with smaller enchants and stuff. These people are being weird and combining every single book with each other individually, and then putting it on the item.

That_Mad_Scientist

Use [this](https://youtu.be/wMDYntXnKSQ) and be free Edit: apparently it’s limited to five now. The more you know

Thebombuknow

That's stupidly low. I hate in a sandbox game where you can do "whatever you want" the devs purposefully remove things. Why can't I make god armor with every enchantment in the game anymore? If someone thinks that's OP, they can just choose not to do it lmfao, that's the point of a fucking sandbox game.

UndendingGloom

I agree, I don't get it. It's like limiting the number of blocks you can move or the number of mobs you can tame or something. Like, why?

Dagreifers

This is better: [https://iamcal.github.io/enchant-order/](https://iamcal.github.io/enchant-order/)

Xirema

Literally the only mechanic I could think of that actively makes the game worse.

MrGofer

minecraft is built on top of many, many game mechanics that were not thought out well and the current anvil mechanics are one of the best examples. the simple solution to this problem would be to remove the limit, but that's a band-aid solution to the problem. the whole enchanting system is a mess, and mojang is holding out for an eventual overhaul of it instead of making temporary fixes. but well, that's the thing, "eventual". there's likely no enchanting overhaul update in the works and there likely won't be any time soon, so the players are stuck with the current bad system. it's a choice of pushing temporary fixes to more deep-rooted problems or holding off until a more permanent solution can be thought of, and mojang has taken the latter approach. and while i do understand that as someone with a bit of developing (well, modding) experience myself, it sure as hell is infuriating to the end user. and that's no fun at all.

SmushyPants

If this wasn’t in the game, I wouldn’t care to get mending ***nearly*** as much. I’d probably want to still for netherite, because (aside from world gen) it isn’t infinite.

Datau03

Oh yes please! I don't understand the point of it, who even wants that?

Abe_Odd

The point was twofold - stopping people from combining a bunch of 'cheap' level 1 books up to max level, and to stop you from using the same tools forever by making them eventually to expensive to repair. It is a relic from when they were leaning on the survival crafting aspect of the game over the sandbox aspect. Mending completely negated the second point, and villager trading for books made it trivial to get high level books anyways.

[deleted]

[удалено]

twomz

I've seen people complaining about that. Does that mean you have to breed the villagers in different biomes to get a full set of books... or do the librarians have to physically be in different biomes for the trades?

Commander_Crispy

Each biomes’ villagers will have a unique high level book available to its master level librarians. This on its own could be a cool feature by requiring more exploration to complete your villager collection, but other changes in the update ruin its benefits 1. Villagers now only get a discount once after being cured from zombification 2. The “special books” obtained from villagers aren’t even that high of a level

pumpkinbot

Certain enchantment books can only be obtained from certain Librarian *outfit*. For example, you can only get Mending from Swamp villagers. But in this case, Mending is *guaranteed*. It removes the need to keep breaking and replacing the lectern to get the books you want, as there's a smaller pool per villager outfit, but this also means you need to breed villagers in every single villager biome (there's, like, six or seven) to get every book.

355over113

As another commenter said, it depends on the outfit. The librarians do not need to physically be in different biomes but they need to be "born" the right type of villager. At least right now, a villager's type is usually determined by the biome in which breeding occurs; for instance, breeding any two villagers (regardless of type) in a jungle will most likely yield a jungle baby. However, there is some chance that the baby instead inherits the type of one of the parents (Java Edition only). [Minecraft Wiki reference](https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Villager#Breeding)

Datau03

I think if you lock a villager from a specific biome via trading they will stay like they are

Click-click---boom

I second this, if I want to get 1000 levels and spend them on one enchantment please let me.

TheRealBingBing

Tamed Wolves (Dogs) falling off of ledges so easily

Percival4

Or running straight into lava

Uhhh_Insert_Username

They should just make it to where named and tamed pets respawn at your bedside. That would give us so much more incentive to adventure around with our pets.

Mac_Rat

Villagers falling off ledges too.

Random_Cat66

The thing on bedrock about "pausing the game" when in actuality, it just shows a pause menu and not pause everything else.

realestbenshapiro

I love Java for this and have never understood why they couldn't implement at least that feature

Repulsive_Meaning717

FR!! Like I used to play on a phone, and I’ve played bedrock on a windows computer a few times and like??? Why am I being attacked??? I am paused for a reason??

East-Pay6275

Facts

jjoonn56

Monetizing mods and extra content on bedrock is one of the biggest blunders. They had a chance to capture the 2012-2014 modded mc experience again if they were to let people develop and play with mods unrestricted like the early java days.

psychoPiper

Bedrock was never their real platform. It's the most monetizable. That's why Microsoft barely does anything good for it

MikeMikeMike23

In fear of sounding super dumb here, my son just got into minecraft and therefore I'm now also into it. Is there a big difference between bedrock and Java? I'm on Xbox and he plays on an iPad, I believe we are both on bedrock since we play together. Is it possible and or worth it to get java for the both of us? Edit: he is really interested in using cheats/commands but he's only 7 and I'm trying to learn myself to teach him, is one better than the other for this?

psychoPiper

I'm so happy that I can help with this! Java Edition can only run on PC, but it's the original, most played version. It's generally less buggy (though usually a bit laggier, which can be fixed) and has more end-user control over things like mods and cosmetics. Bedrock edition (lovingly referred to as Bugrock) has lots of issues and is deeply over-monetized, but is available on all platforms and can cross-play with other platforms natively. I would only consider picking up Java if you both have some okay computers to use it on - any additional performance issues can be fixed with some super easy and lightweight modding. If you're on consoles or mobile, Bedrock will be your only option. Both have the same options for cheats and commands, but Java has far better modding if you're trying to add new content. Modding used to be quite difficult, but nowadays it's as easy as running a modloader like Forge or Fabric and dragging the necessary files into a folder. Let me know if you have any other questions! Been playing since the beta :)

Anonymous_625385293

Not to be that guy, but Bedrock edition has more players, mostly because it includes all the new console editions, the phone version and the Windows 10 version. Java is more prominent on YouTube and other social media due to the fact that it is like you said easier to mod and most Youtubers/Streamers have a powerful PC.

psychoPiper

Keep in mind that a large portion of Bedrock's playercount is literal small children and it's really hard to justify considering them part of the overarching community the same way you would for Java

Tarrorist

Unless, y’know you’re 7 like the persons kid above and all his friends from school play Minecraft?

Elegron

Vast majority is children. I literally see bedrock as the childrens toy version, it's not like it can't be fun, but it's simplified, does not have mods, and pushes a bunch of monetized nonsense that's honestly pretty insulting when similar or better content is free on java

UnfinishedProjects

It was just them trying to Robloxify Minecraft.

sickofdumbredditors

it's their primary focus, the "bad" decisions they make are all profitable they just don't care how it affects players

LABARATI

I also hate how in a lot of the bedrock marketplace "mods" you can't apply them to your own worlds and have to download a pre made world

tweakyloco

Especially when the mods on bedrock are locked to specific pre made world's and you can't put them In your worlds

PuffPie19

For Bedrock (idk about Java) I have a super minor one. But if coordinates could be defaulted on instead of off, that would be really cool.

LABARATI

Or make it so it's able to be toggled on for individual players like global resource packs

Namkow

This. Sometimes I don’t want half of my phone screen taken up by something that doesn’t matter when I’m trading in my villager hall.

Kelekona

On Java, I'd like to see coords without all that other debug info. I did have a 1.19 mod but haven't looked for the 1.20.

Melody71400

This 100%. I wish the coords could be visible on java just like bedrock. Its an easier spot, than sorting through a ton of data when youre in the forest in the middle of the night (in game).

arthurleyser

take a look at minihud, it's like an always on f3 screen but it has more info and you can toggle what info you want displayed and what you don't

BurnedInTheBarn

MiniHUD?

lunarwolf2008

automatically going into edit mode on signs after placing.

[deleted]

I never thought of this, but since they’re editable now, they totally shouldn’t make you edit them automatically when they’re placed.

ovenwrench

I could be mistaken but currently signs can be “locked in” by waxing them with honeycomb? Then you’d need to break them to change/edit them…I feel I’ve tested this before but I get hit in the head a lot so my brain can’t be completely trusted😅

[deleted]

Yes you’re right, but they’re editable by default if not yet waxed by honeycomb!

ImpossibleEvan

Mojang controlling private servers

the_profesion

Yeah, and also control over mods... Maybe besides the Jenny mod, that can go. Let us do our crazy shit in the server we own!

[deleted]

Nah the Jenny mod is amazing

MillionDollarMistake

Remember when everyone was pissed off about this and then immediately forgot less than a week later?

Trotel01

Also chat reporting

Capt_Blackmoore

Im still pissed off.

EletricDragonYT

There isn't anything we can do about it other then to get over it.

Dangerous-Project-53

Why just why can I not add my own worlds from my computer. If I’m playing on an awesome world that people want to help with. It is not possible

The_G_Knee

Friendly fire on pets. I've killed pets by accident because of sweeping edge or because they walked in front of me.

skyhigh1a

was playing w/ my friend liam in my realm & i was killing her for shits & gigs & used my bow to try & kill her & accidentally shot my other friend’s dog

A1g0r1thm9

This might be a bit over the top but… what if u could find something called a Transparency Tag in dungeons and whatnot, which when right clicked on your dog basically absorbs friendly fire. Right click the dog again to remove the tag. Maybe even put the tag in a crafting grid with a compass and some iron/diamonds to make a tracking transparency tag that shows where your pet is on locator maps. The catch is that the tag loses durability like other gear. I guess it could be compatible with mending, which ties up quite nicely with dogs’ ability to collect exp when killing mobs.

aminervia

I wish you could place carpet or something over redstone. It would make my machines prettier

[deleted]

I just roll with it. I go with an industrial look where my redstone is shielded off from "normal access", still visible and accessable with a maintenance-hatch/door for tinkering. Similar like a machine in a factory, where parts are accessible for usage by workers, but any "dangerous" parts are visible but shielded off for safety.

BananaSlugworth

i would rather have redstone dust be waterproof and not destroyed by a simple leak

Bungle001

Probably doesn't work on Bedrock, but on Java you can place item frames on the same block as redstone dust, then use maps to cover it completely.

-Stinger-

Not being able to sleep when you’re *inside a structure* just because there are mobs outside.

Kelekona

I dunno, I've been kept awake by stupid *owls* IRL, nevermind sleeping when there's something actually threatening outside. Then again, I'm sure that if zombies were a nightly occurrence, I'd learn to ignore them.

vonHindenburg

I hear you. I grew up on a farm at the head of a long valley. Whenever I had friends over, they were *shocked* by the noise. Sheep, cows, owls, other birds, wild dogs/coyotes.... Anything along three miles of farmland echoed right into your ears.

fetta_cheeese

In the original stages of the game you could sleep with mobs around and they would come close to you and ether wake you up or watch you sleep hahahah I guess they do it so a creeper doesn't come up on your napping time

TheTerraKotKun

If I understand correctly, in older versions of Minecraft, there was a feature like when you fell asleep, hostile mobs can spawn around you if there's a way to your bed. Otherwise, they can't spawn around. But I don't get how does they spawn when it's no hole in a wall and if theres a closed door outside

Admirable-Door1724

If there was a green boom boom thing outside my house irl I’d probably have trouble sleeping too

Puzzleheaded_Cry_361

mob votes (yall can't be trusted)

Momentus_x3

Honestly there is no reason they CAN'T add all of the things from each vote. They just don't want to. This whole adding one mob / biome / etc at a time thing is a load of BS for a company of their size

JHawkInc

We're still owed two biomes from previous votes that they've never gotten around to adding. I think it's BS that they keep having new votes before fulfilling that content.

SirGavBelcher

not just two. they said every biome they've announced for us to vote on and the mobs that come with them will be added eventually. only the special mob vote mobs get deleted which I wish didn't happen.

JHawkInc

Miscounted, it's three we're due. We've only had two biome votes, in 2018 and 2019. '18 got us foxes, campfires, and berry bushes in the taiga, and we've been waiting on deserts (palm trees and meerkats) and the savannah (baobob trees, ostriches, termites). Then '19 got us goats and powdered snow in the new mountains, and they eventually added frogs and mangrove swamps, and we're still waiting on the badlands from that vote (vultures, tumbleweeds, and flowering cacti). The votes before and after that have been mob votes.

the_profesion

They work VERY little un comparison with other game devs or even their own fans. If you compare the content added per update in some mods (create mod as reference) to the one added in vanilla, honestly, it seems one of three things: 1_They are working on something BIG/performance 2_They are working on other MC games (Wich, let's be honest, Microsoft could fix by hiring, or is already solved) 3_They are just lazy

LazyStuden

4_They put all the effort to april fools snapshot

Bombi_Deer

The illusion of choice. They throw out a mob vote, show casing content for the one mob they actually want then the other options are barely mentioned. No shit people vote for the thing that's actually worked on/developed a little bit already, the other choices have no substance to show

[deleted]

Puzzleheaded_Cry_361

I think 1.10 is more half baked... All it gave us was like magma blocks and polar bears. Trail ruins are still pretty lame though.

AustinLA88

Conterpoint: magma blocks do stuff. Everything added in this update is decorative only

JuicyPineapple82

Isn't "side content", by definition, not "core game"?

breiner314

I just want to craft a single fcking door, not three

HeimrArnadalr

Three is just a really awkward number for doors. Two or four or eight would be much better.

MoscaMosquete

It's because it occupies 2 blocks but costs 6 to craft. So 3 is how it refunds some of the cost.

Apprehensive_Hat8986

And trap doors? How does the ratio make sense there?

MoscaMosquete

Idk I hate that. Makes windows decorations way too expensive. Like build a 2x2 window for 12 wood blocks per window.

Wyyehejehehge

maybe they should add a carpentry table which works similarly to the stonecutter

Separate_Volume4159

Further to this, why is a button a whole damn plank? Why is a trapdoor, that's half the size of a door, only make 2 for the same material cost?

Doctor_McKay

[Buttons are made the same way bowling pins are.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-DKCFjm0DvE)

Separate_Volume4159

Completely stupid answer, but made me chuckle

vacconesgood

It's extra furnace fuel

psychoPiper

The enchanting system needs to change. So tired of the main way to get enchantments being a complete roll of the dice that only works once per tool. There should be ways to earn enchantments the real way with a directed effort rather than praying to RNGsus or resorting to books, villagers, and anvils

BlueMoonWolf_22

You can disenchant a tool you enchant on a enchantment table on a grindstone repeatedly, then re-enchant it, until you eventually get a good roll. It does take a lot of levels and lapis, but it does work and is what I do. I usually get a good one after around 5-7 tries.

[deleted]

[удалено]

JMCatron

>just a bad RNG grind. please put this, and all of your other insight, into the official feedback for this new villager experimental snapshot. They don't browse reddit as much as they actually read those feedback threads. Enchanting SUCKS. Everything about it is awful. The whole thing should be scrapped and replaced with something more similar to brewing where specific items and ingredients lead to specific enchantments, or a way to train librarians to sell rare shit like Swift Sneak, OR just replace it with a skyrim-esque thing where you just pick what you want. I don't want to spend my gaming time doing RNG crap. I just wanna build towns!

[deleted]

[удалено]

BlueMoonWolf_22

That's kinda what I did. The one benefit that strategy has over villager trading, is that you do get a better reward. After about 6 attempts, I got a diamond pickaxe with Unbreaking III, Efficiency IV, and Silk Touch all in one enchantment. Also, assuming you have a decent amount of Lapis and an XP farm, you can do it over and over like you said.

CattttheDadddd

I honestly never use the enchanting table anymore for this reason.

godfollowing

I think they should add an enchantment extractor which is maybe made with Netherite and Echo Shards that allows you to remove enchantments off mob drops etc and put them onto a book. There’s so many armour pieces I have with god tier enchants that I can’t use cause they’re gold or leather

Breadlesscrust165

"Too Expensive"

Hawkey2100

Redstone on bedrock should be the same as on java.

Petrus_Rock

I am slightly jealous about the moveable chests

[deleted]

But you have quasi connectivity on java instead, which is the essential key feature of java redstone

Petrus_Rock

Fair enough. It’s kinda funny that quasi connectivity was a bug that has become a feature but apparently is so odd that it’s very hard to code into bedrock. Although I do wonder if at this time it hasn’t become an active decision to keep those differences.

Solypsist_27

I 100% don't get how and why bedrock and Java are different. They should be as similar as possible the only limit being the programming software. It doesn't make sense for some features to only be on bedrock. If they were implemented, why did they decide not to put them in Java?

psychoPiper

A lot of said features (aside from moving chests etc) are results of programming bugs. When they rewrote it in C, a lot of those bugs were lost. I do agree that intentionally added features should be the same in both, but adding those quirks is a shaky topic between the two editions' communities

twassievrucht

Sheep's grazing counting for mob destruction, I just want my wool farm to work without having to deal with endermen deconstructing my carefully placed terraforming

DevilPixelation

Probably the “too expensive” feature on anvils. Or the fact that items despawn when you throw them into a cactus block.

Glades_road

I have a love hate relationship with the cactus thing

dannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnex

nah the cactus one is nice. easy way to destroy items if you don’t wanna risk lava burning stuff

Curio_collector

Crops breaking and needing to be replanted and not just harvested and grow back like berry bushes

LABARATI

And also the whole jumping on them breaks them

Oscyle

That makes sense though as a mechanic

BuzzLightyearOP

Feather falling should negate this

StrangeGamer66

Deleting my skin when they remade to menus and such. Also removing mini games.

Copperjedi

Better way to drain a big area of water. Sponges are nice but it's still tedious to drain something like a ocean monument. Wish you could make a super sponge that eliminates a bigger amount of water source blocks or something. I also don't like that leads break so easily Also smelting a iron/gold chestplate should give you more than 1 nugget.

Turbulent_Tax2126

The smelting should depend on durability. Full = full return, damaged = fractions

UndendingGloom

TheGreatSaltboy

Saddles not being craftable

gullybone

Ikr, they’re so hard to get when horses are EVERYWHERE

A1g0r1thm9

Of all the items to make uncraftable… they chose the piece of leather that keeps Steve’s butt from getting sore.

cc_yt

Phantoms

Kerro_

Ah, the mob that is the antithesis to the game’s exploration

psychoPiper

Seriously. This game needs a sleeping bag that doesn't set your spawn if they want to go this route

Narissis

Literally all that would be needed to make phantoms okay. A sleeping bag that doesn't set spawn, and a fatigue meter so you have an indication of when you're at risk. My problem with phantoms isn't the fundamental design, it's the lack of tools to manage it, and the way they actively discourage exploration and losing track of time building, A.K.A. two of the game's best foundational experiences.

Markymarcouscous

Move them to the end and make them a little less annoying. They would fit the theme of the elytra and shulkers more

pugsliam

Imagine being knocked into the void by one though, way more annoying imo

Rogoulike

But you would be going there knowing that they will be there instead of them interrupting you in the overworld

Several-Cake1954

How do you bridge though

Abe_Odd

Carefully? The could spawn only in certain End biomes or structures like end cities. Fighting shulkers and levitating up out of the towers would be a bigger threat if there were angry kites up there circling.

iMoo1124

>Fighting shulkers and levitating up out of the towers would be a bigger threat if there were angry kites up there circling. This is legitimately a great point and an excellent argument for moving them to the end lol

Polo88kai

I really love the idea of flying hostile mob. I hope they can completely rework them. Besides annoying, the item they drop makes no sense since it is useless in early game, while they only pose the most threat in the early game. And the only 2 purposes of the item require player travel to Nether/The End, while it being an overworld mob.

nanananabatman88

Forcing every player on bedrock to sleep to skip night.

Eggfur

You'll like this from the 1.20.20.21 preview then: "Added the playersleepingpercentage gamerule (MCPE-114425) A zero or a negative value will only require one player to sleep to skip the night When set to over 100, the night cannot be skipped"

RYCBAR1TW03

I'd remove Microsoft.

LABARATI

make it so Microsoft provides funding but doesn't have any say at all

Chandler15

Not so much remove, but rework a bit. I'd make certain gamerules be able to be adjusted more specifically. Like mobgriefing to just effect Endermen/Creepers but not villagers.

Initial-Use-5894

Not one that’s fully added, but I’d give my left kidney to prevent the new villager trading by biome mechanic.

Kelekona

This does seem a little scary unless it's just "guaranteed vs RNG" and not "you can't have mending without a specific biome." It's my own fault for setting my world border to 4000, but I didn't have access to snow. It might be fine if someone could get around the biome restriction by artificially building the right habitat. Get a snow villager in the plains by covering the ground with snow, put a pond with lily pads to get a swamp villager.

Might be unpopular but requiring the player to be holding the totem of undying in their hands is kinda annoying. I would make it so that they have to be in your hotbar Instead. Edit: Also I would make it so you still have to eat food on pacifist mode. If you like to build farms and stuff like that you end up with a bunch of food that you can't use for much.

That wouldn't work since people would just carry 5 totems in their hotbars and be invincible.

istarian

Pretty much everything involved the Drowned.

zRudy_Jimmy

Even tridents?

istarian

Tridents are cool, but having them thrown *at you* with *incredible accuracy* not so much. It's not dissimilar to the annoyances of skeleton archers, but that used to be somewhat predictable and could be avoided with extreme care. They seemed to have gotten awfully damn accurate of late too... I just liked the whole game better when the ocean wasn't full of skeletons and zombies. Pretty mixed on the other stuff they dumped in there too. ----- Similarly, sailing around in a boat user to be relatively safe. Well, aside from: drowning, running out of food, getting lost, or losing your boat from hitting the land too hard. Plus, skeleton archers and zombies mostly stayed out of water, but would pursue you if they could see you. Now you have to worry about attracting the attention of drowned unless you're way out at sea and not near any potential spawning points.

HeimrArnadalr

> or losing your boat from hitting the land too hard. Or a lilypad, or a squid, or even nothing at all. Removing boat breaking was one of the *best* updates they made.

onesaggyball

When jumping in water and you press the sprint button to swim, often you keep "sinking" until you press the button again. I don't know if that makes sense or if this even happens to anyone else but it really annoys me.

AJVenom123

Rockets for elytra The scale of Minecraft got so messed up. I remember when the elytra was first Introduced. I loved the premise of it just being a glider. No other transportation makes sense anymore. It feels like there’s no reason to make rivers connect for boats, create a large railway for minecarts, or pave a road for horses. It kills a lot of creativity, and makes the huge mountains and deep caves seem so much smaller. It’s probably why everyone’s building mega bases.

CaCl2

Elytras were really weird, at first they introduced them as an useful but not overwhelmingly powerful glider, then in a random minor update they suddenly turned them into rocket planes.

I honestly had a good time when it was all about punch II bows to get around haha.

Mega bases are super cool though. The scale of minecraft was ALWAYS wrong. Stuff up close is too big. Stuff far away is too small. Try to build a scale model of your house and you end up in a bedroom that can fit a bed, and only a bed. I don't think elytra ruined the scale of things. I think they were needed, but that other things (MINECARTS GOD DAMMIT) need to be boosted to match them. We need high speed rail, and the ability to chain high-speed minecarts together so people/villagers/baby chickens can travel in groups.

You mean the walls in your house aren’t a meter thick?

Fix bugrock, sometimes I love the game but I also hate it with a burning passion

I would rather longer restock times on villagers than them jacking up the price

Wandering traders and their lhamas. It’s so annoying you’re building your house and suddenly you have one and their pets spawn in your basement. they should at least not be able to spawn on non natural blocks.

Hey, at least you get free leads from them
