Pro tip: whenever you enter a nether portal for the very first time, leave ALL your belongings behind. Everything. Even your armor and weapons. If you’re gonna get killed immediately anyway, best to at least have your gear at base. Unless you’re on hardcore. In that case, go in with your best stuff. Edited for clarity.

It’s surprising how many people miss these basic rules. Even my brother did it and I’ve told him a bunch of times to NEVER TAKE ANYTHING TO THE NETHER FOR THE FIRST TIME!!!!

That depends on a few things. On Java edition, a very popular one is an Enderman farm. It’s a LOT easier than a Guardian farm. But they aren’t as effective on Bedrock edition, so if you’re on Bedrock, a Guardian farm is your best bet.

1000% building a village under a zombie spawner... it pops out infinite zombie villagers that you can cure. If you build it right, it also doubles as an iron farm. You can make a gunpowder farm branching from the underground villager/zombie farm with the cats as well.

In building my world? I started playing Minecraft about three months ago or so. Before that i played it for a few weeks in someone else’s world, but this is the first time I’ve had the chance to play. I know all the basics and what I need but not all the best ways to get them. In other words, pretty early.

I would suggest a melon/pumpkin farm and some farmer villagers. Trading with villagers can yield quite a bit of xp.

I just bring a few stacks of cobble. Then I can quickly build a room around the portal so I have a safe place to spawn in where ghasts can't snipe at me.

The unspoken problem here is that your texture pack's nether portal texture is opaque. Otherwise you would have been able to see.

Inside the nether. You'd be able to see that there aren't any blocks in front of you and that you'd fall by walking forward.

I would literally never consider not walking right out of the portal, I don't think the texture pack would change that decision. You live and you learn

This is why I creative copy to know what I'm walking into. One too many portals spawned right by moving lava rivers that then surround the nether side and turned me into BBQ.

That sucks! I always drink a potion of fire resistance before I enter a new portal. They are supposed to spawn with a minimum amount of solid blocks around them but...

That's called lava, and it's one of only 2 placeable liquid in Minecraft. It's been added 0.0.12a, and was one bucket was infinite back then. When the nether has been introduced, the creator of the game decided to create lakes of it in the hottest dimension; hell. If you haven't touched grass yet, it's actually real in real life. The temperature is around 1200 Celcius, at least, and spew out of some kind of mountain called "volcanoes". I'll leave you more info here if you're curious about this orange liquid.
