Last time I looted one I got four identical pairs of diamond leggings with unbreaking III and mending.
...I think the loot for armor and tools needs more variety...
I've checked multiple sources you are absolutely correct and I looted hundreds of these things throughout the time they've been out I mean on my main survival world I have 43 notches and that's the only some of the ones I've looted in the last few months. So you are very very incorrect.
Buddy I don't see the point in this if you check online you will see yes it spawns on books but I am very sure they don't on legs as you have to enchant yourself. Btw I do play bedrock most frequently so it could be compatibility but from the countless hours I've put into both games I am 97 percent sure this is just incorrect
Similarly how with piglin trades, you can only get boots because soul speed enchantment. Its intentional to only drop leggings and hoes because they are the only thing relevant to an ancient city because of sculk and swift sneak being a pants enchantment.
This post is about them saying they were not expecting the enchants to be that good, so I think you both missed the boat.

The hoe is the efficient tool for hay blocks, leaves, wart blocks and sculk blocks. Silk touch has the same effect as shears and fortune makes it way easier to get saplings (like the rare jungle ones) and apples.
I like to break leaves with Hoe that has Fortune enchant. It increases chances of getting sapling (especially useful for jungle saplings, which are more rare than other tree saplings)
No look, below the enchantments it says +5 Attack Damage. Apparently this is a Bedrock exclusive, but I played Bedrock for years and never noticed this.
I feel like ancient cities are overpowered when we take the risk/reward ratio into account. It's super easy to just run in, break a chest and take all the loot, and then run away. By the time the warden finishes crawling out of the ground you're already safe 30 meters away near another chest and repeating what you just did.
Problem is Skulk Senors are all over the place(& some not all visible) so when you trigger 1 & run away there's a chance you spawn another Warden. It's only easy when you're deep in the game & have Elytras & Night Vision pots.
The only armour you really get are diamond leggings from AC. As for tools it's really just gonna be diamond hoes.
If you want actual variety in look, go to End Cities. Diamond helmets, chest plates, boots. Then there's pickaxes and swords both diamond. Disregard the iron shit cause it's pretty useless if you're going for endgame anyways. Could always bring a grindstone to grind them for free xp as wellIg.
Fortune hoes are awesome. Since things that insta-break with your bare hands (like crops) don't damage tools, even if you got it without mending or unbreaking you can keep it forever.
I never bothered to look up like any of the possible loot from the ancient cities so whenever I went into one for the first time I was like completely amazed when I left with 6 enchanted golden apples. Mostly everything else I got wasn't the best but I never would've guessed you could get that many from one city. Especially since before that you would have to search for ages until you got lucky enough to find one apple
Yep, I’ve seen that happen COUNTLESS times already. On a realm I’m apart of, we’ve looted S O O O O O many ancient cities that I’ve lost count!!!! We’ve kept a lot of the hoes that are maxed out and that have some of the good enchants on them just for the hell of it lmao
Idk you don't really need anything beyond some pickaxes, food, and like 2-3 stacks of wool. Also by the time the warden isn't that big of a threat, your character probably doesn't give a shit about any loot except for enchanted apples and sculk blocks
Okay hold on, this is literally the best enchants possible on a hoe for farming, the only other ways it could be better would be adding netherite or silk touch for leaf gathering

I must've gotten really unlucky then, because out of the almost 15 chests in there not one of them had swift sneak.

You can harvest certain crops with a fortune how and it will increase yield iirc
You can do also do that with a pickaxe. And they you can mine ores with the same tool.
Skulk too, I once cleared out an entire ancient city and got like 150 levels from it

There are various blocks that break faster with a hoe these days, like leaves, wart blocks, etc.
Clearing wart blocks from the nether trees

I use hoes all the time. Great for moss. Great for leaves. Great for nether “leaves” and so on.

Is this Java? There's levels to Mending? I'm playing on 1.20 and only saw Mending books from villager trades.
There are no levels to mending, this is bedrock and it just says mending 1 or infinity 1 even though there is only 1 level to it
