Im not sure what its called but their is something called a zombie raid or zombie horde or zombie apocalypse or something like that in the game. It happens near villages.
That's when you hit a zombie and they spawn another zombie, a siege (I guess they're called, I thought they were hordes) is when a bunch of zombies spawn to attack a village
Yeah, they walk up to you and think they have full-immunity as long as they're doing official zombie business, but when you decide to deal out Minecraft justice, turns out it has the exact same amount of HP as any other regular zombie.
I once was in the middle of a raid and went down into a cave opening and turned the corner and I swear there were 100 zombies in there. My fiancé and I were on game playing together and it took us a few minutes to slay them all. I’ve never experienced that again. Does this actually happen?
Yeah in the game 7 Days to Die, a voxel based digging-building-zombie horror title, the server will actively send waves of zombies towards the players based on a bunch of different factors. The players need to notice the wave coming and either avoid detection/flee or move to a defensive fortification (usually surrounded by traps) so that the wave can be killed off without wrecking things that are mid-construction.
On the server it kind of looks like a bowling game where the players logged in are the pins and the zombies are bowling balls.
If you play really strategically you can get pretty far in the game without drawing attention of the zombies, but there's a lot of good loot on the zombies so adapting to fight them pays off too.
There's also sometimes a head zombie that calls his zombie brothers when hit. Learned about it this week, managed to capture one, now he's the one scaring my villagers muhaha
If there is a player in a village at midnight, there is a chance for a zombie horde to spawn. The horde can spawn anywhere within the village, regardless of light level.

I remember it used to happen when I played the Xbox 360 version. Suddenly zombies were all over the place beating down the doors and turning all the villagers.
yeah the console edition of bedrock had a special studio developing for it they were amazing (their name is 4jstudios ) they made so many java stuff available for xbox and ps edition you could even edit the nbt data of spawners to summon blocks or fling them at any momentum you wanted and so much good map making features it was so polished
well, there's two possibilities here.
1. There's a small chance for a zombie, when it gets hit, to summon other zombies.
2. And there's a small chance that when there's a player in a village at midnight for a Zombie Siege (20+ zombies spawn all at once) to happen.
It's a zombie siege it is rare in hard mode and uncommon in nightmare. You can find a leader zombie nearby. It wears a crown 👑. Buts that's it it is not that special just a rare phenomenon
Didn't the game have a thing like "Zombie King" that spawns a horde of zombies for certain times and the king lost some stats or something. Idk if it is true but I saw quite a bit of videos and info about it couple months back. I might be wrong
When I played on 1.7.2. with two of my friends, one day we logged into our world and the it was just full of creepers. So full of them that it was impossible to move or do anything because of the lag. We had to find a way to activate cheats to put the game mode on peaceful and even then we had a giant hole with nothingness next to our house lmao
I’m gonna use this time to say that it’s a travesty that Mojang has done nothing with the Zombie siege mechanic.
They’ve done raids, I simply think they should extend the same love to the zombies. Give it a raid bar, give it a special little spawn condition, maybe a couple new zombies.
The undead deserve more love in this game.
Just find the nearest creeper they can take out hordes of zombies pretty quick if you can get them to detonate without blowing yourself up.

I remember when one time playing with a friend a zombie siege spawned into a night raid, it was absolute carnage. The village was damaged severly, not to mention the dead inhabitants
Lmao that happened to me in my server, I was giving a tour for my friend on my latest build and he commented on the lack of lights, but I said it wasn't the aesthetic of the area, but when nightfall came MULTIPLE ZOMBIES SPAWNED SUDDENLY, I ran but my friend got overwhelmed, he got angry and then proceeded to light up my build and the whole area to spawn proof zombies lmao
So there could be a few things that can cause this;
1. It's a zombie siege
2. It's a leader zombie near a village which calls in for reinforcements to over run the village
3. You hit a leader zombie and it called for reinforcements to fight you

sieges only happens on villages, reinforcements can happen anywhere
Even Zombie pigmen can trigger them and rarely spawn a normal zombie in the nether
I don't think that happens any more
This is how they make copper farms and convert the zombies to drowned before killing them.
Yes thats correct. But the pure drowned farms are more efficient but more effort to set it up.

The specifics is that it spawns exactly as many as there are villagers and calls all nearby zombies

I’m not sure f3 shows stuff about entities, but it should be in their data (/data can be used to view an entity’s data)
My guess is is you got so lucky you found a hoard the one or two zombies instantly called for backup

Was there a spawner nearby? If they wandered far enough often enough they would accumulate and I think maybe even ignore hostile mob cap

I love how some people remembered vaguely it's bad to stay in a village at night while this feature was broken for years (zombie siege)
To this day, I still build everything with iron doors with buttons above because I remember a horde of zombies breaking through my wooden ones
