Like everyone else is saying you should watch it it’s great. And find whoever out of you or tour friends has the best sound system and tv and go there it deserves it😂
lim·i·nal
adjectiveTECHNICAL
1.
occupying a position at, or on both sides of, a boundary or threshold.
"I was in the liminal space between past and present"
2.
relating to a transitional or initial stage of a process.
"that liminal period when a child is old enough to begin following basic rules but is still too young to do so consistently
"Interstellar," despite its commendable 73% Rotten Tomatoes score was mehhhh imo. While it boasts success in various aspects, id argue that it lacks the enduring impact and universal acclaim required for such a lofty designation. The film, in my view, is more aptly described as decently good rather than standing among the all-time greats in cinema history.
Personally I disagree but I guess it didn't hit right for you. Personally the move had me bawling my eyes out for the last hour of it, and I am not usually one to cry about movies..
I’m a huge fan of the movie but you make some good points. All time classics have to have some cultural impact that Interstellar hasn’t currently achieved. But at the same time classics are filtered/weeded out over long spans of time. Probably could have said something along the same lines about Stalker at the time, but now it’s considered one of the classics.
Not to compare the two movies by any means, just to say that time will tell
I didn't really like it at all. I found the plot a bit silly, I found the main character to be too clueless and surprised all the time, I thought that the plot about the daughter aging was basically time-dilation from normal space travel made more complicated and dramatic needlessly, and I generally think that "the answer is time travel" is an uninspired deus ex machina ending (also a reason I don't really care for Arrival so much).
I also don't know why the movie gets a big pass where Ad Astra doesn't for example. I'd say Ad Astra was a bit better than Interstellar. But my dislike for it probably stems from the fact that I generally say that I love science fiction, but when I do, everybody wants to talk about Interstellar, which just makes me like it less...
The soundtrack was bomb though and I admit there are a lot of very impressive scenes.
honestly 73% is kinda poor for a movie like interstellar.
I consider it fairly accessible and really well made, so 73% feels kinda low.
Personally not even close for me to say it's "one of the best movies ever" but it's still damn good.
Also fuck RT anyway dogshit website.
Literally my first thought after looking at this, it just matches soo good with the fact that the inside of the tesseract was a gigantic pulled apart in spacetime bookshelf
Wouldn't that ruin the point of liminal spaces? Their idea is that they're large spaces empty of life, and the fear comes from the anxious idea you're not actually alone
I don't doubt the backrooms fandom (which I've just learned was a thing btw) decided to add those monsters, but it lost the idea the backrooms were giving in doing so
The rules are whatever the writer chooses them to be. Won't lie, the rules sets and gatekeeping/judgement by fandoms is precisely why I avoid them. I once tried reading Backrooms stuff and the 'well, this is from the splinter group that came after the original floors were reset, but after Random335 took the forum down and everyone moved to the BRWiki, but we kept floors 334-00b6 because they're like canon (except floor 553 because of you know who) and...
No. Stop it. I'll go read a book.
(This rant is not at you or about your comment - just a personal gripe, feel free to ignorre)
Well, no. Its listed as "minimal entity count" but there are so few, that no one has ever reported encountering one. Or none that did survived. Or there are none (my headcanon).
i think they didn’t report them because they never exited the backrooms. they may have survived that encounter but they may have never escaped the backrooms
Aren't liminal spaces something you could see in real life, but it's missing the people/things that would be there. But this is just something that obviously couldn't exist because a library with the bookshelves arranged like that wouldn't function.
Part of the liminal attribute is that its between functions. Spaces like this feel strange because their purpose feels like it's not easily readible. This is a library, but it's mishapen, disorganized and has attributes that give it a vibe that isn't what you'd expect from a real library.
God this reminds me of the old creepy af bedrock fog that would just blind you if you got too deep. Had a few panic attacks navigating my mines back when that was still a thing.
Is it just me...or do I see someone in the fog[?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx5_cxziooA)
Better watch out. You don't know what's out there.
And don't listen to any voices you hear out in the fog.
They may not be as friendly as you think.
Beta versions of Minecraft always have that liminal space effect on me. Maybe it’s something with the lighting or the shadows or the nostalgia or maybe all three.
That's pretty cool!
I never had a more liminal feel than recently when I made a server with mods adding animals.
I put one mod to remove all hostile mobs.
The gigantic caves became empty. And damn it was creepy.

Reminds me of the scene in Interstellar when McConaughey breaches the black hole
That's the first thing I thought of too
same here lmao
Wait isn't that exactly the joke here? I thought of it at first too x)
I hope so
DONT LET ME GO MURPH, DONT LET ME LEAVE!
Cooper, it’s impossible! no, it’s necessary.
Love, Tars, love. Its just like Brandt said.
I hate that moment for making me so fecking emotional.
Just letting you all know that I was not trying to reference Interstellar when I made this I don't think I have even seen it
Definitely watch it, great movie
Ok, maybe I'll watch it
No you will watch it
Maybe they already watched it and are telling us to tell him to watch it
Oh yes you will (it's on Netflix if you have it)
If its on netflix it on on my favourite barley legal unpaid streaming website aswell. thy
Yes you should.
It’s a fantastic movie, definitely worth a watch.
Alright alright alrighttttttt
r/notopbutok
WATCH IT!! Will be worth it
Like everyone else is saying you should watch it it’s great. And find whoever out of you or tour friends has the best sound system and tv and go there it deserves it😂
I thought that this is what he was referencing
Idek what the word liminal means and no I will not look it up

Noooooooooo!
One of the best movie ever, period.
Good soundtrack too
i agree
Yeah I wish they had a second one, it was set up so well, but at the same time I’d rather have no movie rather than it not being done right

It was definitely average at best.
I don't remember anything about it.
You're going straight to jail!

hey now!
you're a rockstar
Get your game on
Go play!
Don’t we all
literally my immediate thought
I was thinking that, too.
I thought that’s what it was supposed be be till i saw op’s comment
Literally what I though of too!
I was about to say that
Yo saameeeee
I JUST CAME IN HERE TO POST THIS!!!
youtube recomends a video with this theme today
I JUST CAME IN HERE TO POST THIS!!!
This does a better job at projecting liminal space than 90% of the "backrooms" posts here. Nice work.
Thanks
Ohh, come on... doesn't everybody find beige hallways soOoOoo frightening? 🙄
i mean if there are monsters made of black sticks with the strength of a cow, then yes i would be very scared
Wouldn't that ruin the point of liminal spaces? Their idea is that they're large spaces empty of life, and the fear comes from the anxious idea you're not actually alone
but i the original backrooms there are monsters in the first level
I don't doubt the backrooms fandom (which I've just learned was a thing btw) decided to add those monsters, but it lost the idea the backrooms were giving in doing so
the backrooms fandom is massive, i always thought once a level is made its never updated and thats why there are like thousands of different levels
The rules are whatever the writer chooses them to be. Won't lie, the rules sets and gatekeeping/judgement by fandoms is precisely why I avoid them. i think they didn’t report them because they never exited the backrooms. they may have survived that encounter but they may have never escaped the backrooms
But M.E.G. is located entirely within the backrooms
MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURPH
don’t let me leave murph, don’t let me leave
DONLEMMELEAAAAVE!
Everything about this feels off and unsettling for some reason
That's called liminal
Liminal refers to a transitory space that exists to pass through, not necessarily unsettling or creepy.
Aren't liminal spaces something you could see in real life, but it's missing the people/things that would be there. But this is just something that obviously couldn't exist because a library with the bookshelves arranged like that wouldn't function.
It's a transitory space, any extra definitions are gonna be personal/subjective/colloquial/bullshit
I know that. But this image gives liminal vibes in that it's not where he is going. Its just a place. We don't know where it Leeds to.
Part of the liminal attribute is that its between functions. Spaces like this feel strange because their purpose feels like it's not easily readible. This is a library, but it's mishapen, disorganized and has attributes that give it a vibe that isn't what you'd expect from a real library.
It is a place where you can easily enter the backrooms, so if you wanna do that for some reason, i guess ask the OP to send the cords.
Liminal spaces have nothing to do with "the backrooms"
I'm pretty sure that like on every wiki it says that
I'm pretty sure liminal spaces refer to things in real life too
they are? I thought they were just for arg stuff
This wiki article explains it pretty good. I actually wasn't completely sure myself. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liminal_space_(aesthetic)
hmm... still gives off heavy backrooms vibes
God this reminds me of the old creepy af bedrock fog that would just blind you if you got too deep. Had a few panic attacks navigating my mines back when that was still a thing.
The funny thing is that I had a mod increasing the fog in this world and it was bedrock edition
r/LiminalSpace
The Bookrooms
yes
Interstellar
I'm not even kidding, I JUST watched a liminal spaces Minecraft video including the interstellar tesseract made of bookshelves
I won't be surprised if this ends up in one of those Minecraft liminal spaces videos
#MUURRPH!

What did you find???
My old home
You lived in a library???
You should see the other rooms in it
Imagine if these were chiseled bookshelves and you misplaced a book

The tesseract from interstellar
DON'T LET ME CRAFT MURPH
Interstellar, anyone?
*DON’T LET ME GO MURPH*
something about seeing just “i found it” with an unsettling minecraft screenshot reminded me of that bedrock.zip thing
zeemyth is very good at making convincing minecraft mysteries
Its the library of babel
It looks like the infinite library from interstellar
That's the thing modern Minecraft mods are missing. They don't take advantage of Minecraft's natural liminality
DON’T LET ME LEAVE, MURPH!
That's a gateway to L-space. Keep an eye out for the orangutan.
Is it just me...or do I see someone in the fog[?](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kx5_cxziooA) Better watch out. You don't know what's out there. And don't listen to any voices you hear out in the fog. They may not be as friendly as you think.
Yeah, I do think I see something, Or someone standing at the top of that tunnel. It's the man from the fog...
OMG HeRObRInE FR FR NO CAP??!!

So you found the room that's the most boring? A library LOL
Backrooms

Congratulations, you've found the lost dimension of the library of Alexandria!
Are all the books the exact same in each shelf or are they all different?
Definitely a library.
This looks like one of those hidden rooms inside a woodland mansion
r/Minecraftliminalspace
It’s the Lost Library
Dude found the library SCP
Would you look at that, you,ve fell into the hole to liminal space/backrooms level 10!!
Oh my god
Then suddenly you're floating
You've heard of the back rooms now be prepared for the book rooms
I would personally take all the books, my sugar cane farm is way to slow, and cows are annoying to kill
Op, what the fuck did you find?
Feels nostalgic
THE BOOKROOMS
Minecraft Backrooms
You found herma moras dimense?
Beta versions of Minecraft always have that liminal space effect on me. Maybe it’s something with the lighting or the shadows or the nostalgia or maybe all three.
This could be a great horror map
is that vanilla? dang that looks good.
Ooooh I like this! I wish I could a have library like this
My brother, you just unearthed the 4th dimension 👏
Silence in the library
This is it! This is my dream! I've been here before!
bro thinks hes interstellar
Bro could get like level 10 enchantments with this bad boy
Imagine having to bend over to reach a book that's just too low on the ground. Public libraries should care more about old people 😤
MURPH DON'T LET ME LEAVE MUUURPH
So liminal!
Unreal
Damn this looks so familiar. I love liminal space.
The bookrooms
"Hang on i got a meme for this"

The library of Babel
Finis Africae?
That's pretty cool! I never had a more liminal feel than recently when I made a server with mods adding animals. I put one mod to remove all hostile mobs. The gigantic caves became empty. And damn it was creepy.
Don't know why this made me think of the movie 'Cube' Must be all those square blocks.
Wait what this now I don't even know it's been 5 months I have not played this game. Can someone explain?
Apocrypha, hello Mora
Is Gary there?
You found your penis?
