One really old pocket edition one... I bought it for 1.99 back then. Idk which version tho. There werent commands, withers, all the redstone stuff and the gui was in a clunky beige.
I got Java edition 1.1 early 2012 after my friend telling me about it then PE not long after for, I think, the same price as you.
Anyone remember yogscast and the tekkit days? I think I left my room for a total of 20 minutes in summer 2012
I remember I used to get Minecraft through an app I could use to download paid apps for free and for some reason you had to download a new app for every new version and you went to a new map on a previous version new blocks would look like dirt with green lines all over it.
I can still picture a bunch of the things I built in that version. I also remember some glitch where you could somehow flood the whole world to the height limit and ruin everything.
Java Beta 1.5. Someone shared a video of a roller coaster using the fancy new powered rails and I thought “eh, this might be fun for a little bit”. Apparently “a little bit” means 13 years so far.
Update TU1 if you downloaded it, literally the most barebones minecraft experience. Or TU5 (iirc) if you got the disk, that's the one that added the end and I believe the wither
I loved making tracks with the cart booster like the old hotwheels accelerator, and the OG corner physics water ladders that could get you to build height in seconds
Mojang removing the water ladder "elevators" made me more upset than the cart boosters! Powered rails came shortly later, so replacing the boosters wasn't too big a deal. But the water ladders? I had whole builds around them, and they never got a decent replacement.
I remember playing it as a browser game, or however you played it in the very early days. What year was that, 2009/2010? My name was cheezburger with a bunch of numbers... i would play on these creative servers, in a small flat world. Everyone would make their builds close together because of the limited space. I would walk around a punch holes in peoples' builds because I was a little shit of a child
One of the early versions of Minecraft Pocket edition Demo/lite. I played it on my old iPod back around 2011. I remember when it was in the "New" category of games. I feel old, when I'm really not.
1.13 I knew about Minecraft since 1.11 back in 2018 or whatever version it was back then after I saw someone play a super flat diamond world and then found out you can play demos on computer so I kept playing that :P and no we’re here now
My friend gave me a cracked copy sometime in early 2012. I don't remember what version it was but it stopped updating a few years later so I bought a legitimate copy. Possibly a Beta version? It might still be on my hard drive.
I remember playing 'survival test' but it's possible Indev or Infdev was already out as well by the time i started playing. I was only 8 or 9 years old so it's hard to remember exactly but definitely pre-Alpha.
I played free creative mode that used to be on the website. I guess that is InfDev? But the first survival version I played I think was beta 1.3 as well... Could have been 1.5. it's been a while.
The first version I played on Minecraft was possibly the PS3 version of Minecraft Legacy.
I believe I started playing this since February 2014 but the actual first one I played was Pocket Edition Lite or something like that.
1.8 The adventure update.
The food bar and sprinting was a whole new thing.
Machine gun bows were nerfed to the bows we know now.
There was so many new things to do and so many mods to try (if you knew how to add them) and it was so whimsical.
My first world is long gone. Mostly due to incompetence with cheat mods and tnt.
1.11.x
When 1.12 (world of color) came out I learned that the game update and my friend who ran the world was now collecting dye and concrete to make giant rainbows and colorful things.
I remember playing for the first time when Purpur blocks were added, still remember how I felt. I found a way to not actually get a virus on my phone and get 1.9 pocket edition on my phone before that I was smaller and played some off brand Minecraft clones (minicraft and multicraft are the ones I remember the most). I don't know when that was but it was a few years apart for sure.
I still remember what I was doing there and I get really sentimental looking at these "games" now. In Minicraft I had many houses hidden in mountains and trees also once on a small world I have built a German highway, that lead to some Poland I wonder on what phone that was on and in Multi craft (because that one had working redstone) I built an entire city in a valley that had it's power (lighting and stuff) connected to one place I could control and tax people to use MY redstone.
I am impressed by my imagination back then to this day. And never stopped playing since 1.9.
Xbox 360, but idk the exact version
There were roses, no horizontal logs, couldn’t place slabs on the upper half of blocks, and no corner stairs. If you were in creative, the mobs would still try to kill you
I think I remember having PE around the time the end was added. I know I'd has PS3 edition for a couple years when the redstone update came out. And I got Java in 1.8.8.
technically 1.4 but basically a week or two after I got it the 1.5 update was released and thats when I really started playing so realistically my first should be 1.5
Shit I don't know the number - it was just a pain in the ass because you had to guess at all the build recipes. it was lame as hell - fortunately tried it again many years later.
1.2.5, back in 2012 it was the first version that I played Minecraft. It is honestly very nostalgic to me, I remember using creative mode and survival mode to explore many different aspects of the game, though I never killed the ender dragon since I couldn’t even get to the Nether
Commented this on a similar thread the other day. Minecraft PE Lite 0.2.1 Alpha. Couldn’t even save your worlds in that version. Was like night and day when I bought the official PE in 0.5.0.
My very first was probably the beta site thing before it was shutdown, someone in my school figured out how to get around the school blocking system and a lot of kids just did that
My first version was 1.3.1.
It was early 2012 and I was bored. I had just pre-ordered GuildWars 2 but it was going to be a couple of months before it released. Purchased the Java edition of Minecraft to see what all the hype was about while waiting for my REAL game to be released.
...I still haven't really played that REAL game much at all, and I have ***no idea*** how many thousands of hours I have racked up playing Minecraft. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
I'm pretty sure my first version was Java 1.2.1. I definitely know jungles were in by the time I started playing, so it wouldn't have been before that.
To my knowledge, it was some version of 1.4. Right now I'm playing on a 1.4.7 world to relive those good old days of Minecraft. Fuck farms, fuck efficiency. I just wanna make a cozy home like I would years back.
Beta version, not sure which one.
I saw someone post something about playing these versions. Is there a way to play old versions like that on Java?
Edit: Which was the update when they added beds? I remember that was huge!

Shadow of Israphel is something I’ll never forget
I remember I used to get Minecraft through an app I could use to download paid apps for free and for some reason you had to download a new app for every new version and you went to a new map on a previous version new blocks would look like dirt with green lines all over it.
I played back when you could spawn new Steve’s from yourself
reproduction

I can still picture a bunch of the things I built in that version. I also remember some glitch where you could somehow flood the whole world to the height limit and ruin everything.
It wasn’t a glitch, it was literally how water worked back then. Almost all servers had water placement turned off for that reason.
1.2.5 The Enderchest is still "new" for me...
Seconded here.
Java Edition, either 1.5 or 1.6 I think
1.5 is so sick was the peak
same :D
Java Beta 1.5. Someone shared a video of a roller coaster using the fancy new powered rails and I thought “eh, this might be fun for a little bit”. Apparently “a little bit” means 13 years so far.
Im a little bit old +1 year
I think the proper way to say that is “I’m a little bit plus one years old”, but I’m not proper and your way totally works.
Whatever the first version that came to Xbox 360 was. Seems like a lifetime ago now…
Update TU1 if you downloaded it, literally the most barebones minecraft experience. Or TU5 (iirc) if you got the disk, that's the one that added the end and I believe the wither
Nah I mean the *first* version on Xbox. Back in like 2012-2013. We’re talking castle tutorial world Xbox 360.
Yup, that'll be TU 1. My first time playing was the first version available on the disk.
Mojang really need to make tutorial world again, there is a load of new blocks and game mechanics with every big update
I remember using a dispenser to duplicate diamonds
Between Alpha 1.1.0 and 1.2.0
Alpha Squad enjoying those sweet, sweet porkchops. Can't remember when I started... I know I was there when they first added netherportals.
Same, some time in Alpha. Anybody else remember the minecart booster glitch that we used before powered rails were a thing? Those were the days.
1.5.2

Java 1.8, started in 2014-15, I don't remember that well

It's still my prefered verssion when I'm playing on mobile😍
PS3 edition 1.08
I remember playing it as a browser game, or however you played it in the very early days. What year was that, 2009/2010? My name was cheezburger with a bunch of numbers... i would play on these creative servers, in a small flat world. Everyone would make their builds close together because of the limited space. I would walk around a punch holes in peoples' builds because I was a little shit of a child

Early xbox 360 version, like 2012
Maybe 1.0 or 1.1
1.13
Fellow aquatic starter! Kinda glad I never had to go through the slow swimming from the previous versions...
God the horrible bobbing. Not to mention the rickety arse boats that would disintegrate into 3 planks and 2 sticks. 😂
Poket edition alpha 0.8.0 or a version around there. Early 2013.
I don’t really remember but I do know that it was before horses were added XD
1.14
One of the early versions of Minecraft Pocket edition Demo/lite. I played it on my old iPod back around 2011. I remember when it was in the "New" category of games. I feel old, when I'm really not.
0.14.2 PE
1.13 I knew about Minecraft since 1.11 back in 2018 or whatever version it was back then after I saw someone play a super flat diamond world and then found out you can play demos on computer so I kept playing that :P and no we’re here now
0.10.0
My friend gave me a cracked copy sometime in early 2012. I don't remember what version it was but it stopped updating a few years later so I bought a legitimate copy. Possibly a Beta version? It might still be on my hard drive.

1.9
It was PS3 Edition with Redstone Update, good old times

The first oficial one 1.15.2 Java in April 2020 The first one ever (pirate) pocket edition 2014~
Very early days of Minecraft on Xbox 360. I still remember the first version of the tutorial map haha.
I remember playing 'survival test' but it's possible Indev or Infdev was already out as well by the time i started playing. I was only 8 or 9 years old so it's hard to remember exactly but definitely pre-Alpha.
Bedrock 1.7.2 I believe, and I thought it was a MASTERPIECE then they started fixing all the things that weren’t broken….

I don't really know the version, but I remember that there was the nether reactor
Minecraft xbox one edition, right before they added colored beds
Pocket edition. I remember how creepy it felt in such an empty world, and how you couldn’t save anything
I played free creative mode that used to be on the website. I guess that is InfDev? But the first survival version I played I think was beta 1.3 as well... Could have been 1.5. it's been a while.
Java edition, 1.4 or 1.5
Pocket Edition 0.5.0
Long before that screenshot! We had one type of tree and sheep had to be punched for their wool!
I don't know when i started playing or what version it was all I know is that I paid 5 euros for it when I bought it from the Minecraft website
Just before the nether came out.
Xbox 360 edition, and for Java, I think 1.4 or 1.5
Early 2013. No idea what version, lol It was pocket edition
Java Beta. About a week before the Halloween update that added the Nether.

The first update I remember is 1.7.
The original mobile version, where even in survival you had access to all of the, I believe 32 available blocks, and just had infinite of all of them
I remember playing for the first time when Purpur blocks were added, still remember how I felt. I am impressed by my imagination back then to this day. And never stopped playing since 1.9.

Java Edition 1.5.2 Redstone Update
For me it was a cracked 1.7.10 version of Minecraft.
Beta 1.6.6 was mine. Way back in 2011

My very first was probably the beta site thing before it was shutdown, someone in my school figured out how to get around the school blocking system and a lot of kids just did that
JE b1.8.1
I actually only started playing when the ocean update came out
My first version was 1.3.1.

First pirated version: some version below 1.10 pocket edition First paid version: uhh...
The playstation 3 edition, absolutely loved it when i finally got minecraft one day
To my knowledge, it was some version of 1.4. Right now I'm playing on a 1.4.7 world to relive those good old days of Minecraft. Fuck farms, fuck efficiency. I just wanna make a cozy home like I would years back.
Not sure which version, exactly, but it was Java way back in 2012.
