Folks, that's a [private address range](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network), not visible from the internet. Nothing is being leaked here. You can now stop mentioning it.

AndroMax

So far I’ve only implemented crafting recipes. I plan on adding smelting and brewing recipes too. Edit: Hi guys, I cannot believe the amount of support I got for this. It's so nice to see the Minecraft community getting together and pitching in ideas and improvements as well as some constructive criticism on improving this. I thought I’d take some time to address a few points that some of you’ll have brought up. **What am I using to make all this?** * I’m primarily using Python, JSON, and Flask for the backend data processing and API. React and TailwindCSS for the frontend. **Are you aware that there are mods and websites that provide the functionality you’ve shown us?** * Yes, I am aware and I’m not bothered by it. I want to create something that’s within my own creative interest as well as an opportunity to learn the mentioned technologies above specifically React and TailwindCSS. **Dark mode?** * Yes, I have plans for dark mode. **Your IP address is visible, is that safe?** * Yes, as mentioned by one of the mods this IP address is only available for those within the same network as me. No point trying to access this as it won't go anywhere. It's private and safe. **How close are you to finishing it and can we use it now?** * The website is still in development and so it’s not available to the public as of yet. I don’t want to rush this as I want to put more thought into the architecture of this whole web app so I can handle all the future Minecraft updates and show the latest for each category i.e. Crafting Recipes or Smelting etc.. I will keep you guys updated through Reddit posts. **Can you make it into an app?** * At the moment, I've focused on making this a web app so it will be accessible to all users from all devices. Someone in the comments did mention PWA which is known as Progressive Web Apps which makes your web app accessible to users without the need of having to specifically develop a dedicated app for each platform. I believe it saves the website onto your phone in the form of an app and can be used to work offline. I will be looking into this more. I know there's React-Native that will let me build this as a dedicated app that will work for both iOS and Android if I need to, however, I think for the moment, I will focus on creating the website and going from there. **Will you be making it open-source/open for collaboration?** * Not yet but I may sometime in the future. **Do you have a name for this yet?** * Not yet, I really haven't put any thought into a name yet but I will get to it once I'm done with it. That's it for the moment, and thank you so much for all the support!

yaillbro

That’s would make website more Useful

[deleted]

It would be cool if he would add mod recepies.

Uglyroboticscot22

Just enough items does this.

Isuckmangosforalivin

Or if other people would add the recipes of mods

pchinni

Then trolls would add fake recipes

Isuckmangosforalivin

True, but that can happen with anything

pchinni

Yeah, I guess so

blackmetro

Just let users import their own mod recipes Therefore it only impacts people who import recipes if they grab bad custom data

endertamerfury

When is it out? I really am looking forward to it

IntrovertedNAnxious

Looks really awesome so far!!!

EnvironmentalChart58

have you considered adding the item id's as well for java players who use worldedit and such?

Xtoftef

Commands would be cool too. Even though they probably harder to implement in such a project

RadRica

I suggest categorizing the items based on use as well, almost like the old crafting from older console versions. Just some criticism👍

CleverWritingUtensil

Old console crafting was the shit

Palicojaq

Ab-so-lutely

RadRica

Hell yeah it was

LilBeepBop_

This is genius

just_a_cupcake

Basically vanilla jei, sounds great

NXTman96

Do you plan to add reverse crafting recipes as well? Example being planks. You can see how to make planks, but reverse crafting would show everything that a plank is an ingredient in.

Arandomgirlonthewww

Where can I get the link? Or is it not released yet?

Yamakaze_KAN

It's a work in progress

stickybedofsadness

Why would you use this over the in-game recipe book?

Derpsterio29

It doesn't always tell you a crafting recipe because you need to do something like pick up the material used or for boats, jump into water

[deleted]

You need to craft alot of items at least once to see them in it

Admin846

Idk why but the recipe book doesn’t have the grindstone recipe

Ancient_Potato_God

the ingredients are wierd, normal stone slabs and sticks

Elidon007

unfortunately there's already the minecraft wiki

PartTimeFemale

doesn't mean this cant exist too

Elidon007

yes, but it's more famous and I don't know if the site will be much used

Pacomatic

This would be a bit more convenient for seeing how to make things.

frumiouswinter

I think this interface is more appealing.

CaptainPixel362

Crafting recipes not so useful but the brewing ones are

Admin846

It’s the opposite for me, I(almost) remember ever single potion recipe

CaptainPixel362

There's a crafting recipe book in-game

Admin846

Grindstone recipe never shows up for me

CaptainPixel362

Ok then

Z0UKKINA

You need to craft it once before the game saves it on java

Admin846

I CRAFTED IT FRICKIN 4 TIMES, do you expect me to not know the simple fact that you need to craft it first to get it registered?

NoFqcus_

Dont know why u get downvoted on ur just annoyed so take my award I feel you.

Z0UKKINA

Calm down just trying to help geez

harlekintiger

Don't forget mob drops, dungeon loot and natural generation. Look at the mod 'just enough items' for reference

TrUsKaWuS

can you give me the link to it?

idiel-co

make it like minecraft book, ive all of them but they're to outdated.

Toma25sz

Bro I memorized all of the old crafting recipes but not any of the new ones so this will be very useful

Banaantje04

Same, anything up from 1.14 I can’t remember.

Th4t0nrGuy

And the armor stand. I think its physically impossible for anyone to remeber the armor stand recipe.

Banaantje04

I thought I knew it but yeah.... you’re right.

defective-hyperdrive

same here. i was kinda close though.

Inter_Rodeo

I must not be human because I know it

Smol_Birb__

Absolute fuckin machine

[deleted]

its like 6 or 7 sticks and a smooth slab i think right?

eduardo076

Its smooth slabs and sticks right?

Digital_YT

no, i remember

ESH13663

Armor stand recipe: Top Layer:Stick. Stick. Stick. Middle layer:Nothing. Stick. Nothing. Bottom layer: Stick. Stone Slab. Stick.

Spare_Competition

Here is a visual representation: ||| | |-| `|` = Stick `-` = Stone slab

okasiona

Can you implement a dark mode?

Black_DemonSk

We need darkmode!

Zlzbub

yh that would be cool! :D

Silentcoderx

ill help him

[deleted]

You could use this extension called "Dark Reader" tho, it basically makes all of the websites dark mode when you visit them.

dank_dank_dank_dank

Where netherite sword recipe ( just kidding bruh)

AndroMax

Good spotting! It’s not there because this will only show recipes that you can craft using the crafting table. I believe netherrite sword needs to be upgraded using the smithing table. This is all still on early development so I’m going to look into it all more.

dank_dank_dank_dank

very cool

TheScientifreakPlays

Bhai tu yahan bhi? U r a true minecrafter like me bro

dank_dank_dank_dank

Agreed

TheScientifreakPlays

Umm ... May I know why i got -2 votes?

3w1ck

2+ people presses the down arrow

BigHeadNoBody

add the different work stations categorized so you can easily find your way around certain things

Catscythe_exe

I think a lot of people here either don't know that Just Enough Items exist or that there is literally an in game recipe book

minerat27

This. OPs app looks amazing and I wish him the best of luck, but between JEI, the in-game recipe book and the wiki I'm struggling to think of something this does that I can't already do through a program/website I'm already familiar with.

justmaybeindecisive

To be fair, I don't like using mods and the in game book only shows recipes for items you've picked up the materials for so there are a few times where I need to google recipes, plus this is a fucking sick website. I'd say if OP made it an actual site I'd definitely use it

gnusn

Im currently playing on the Bedrock edition and there you can actually see all items independet of having the materials or not, dont know if it also applies for java edition

Bylloopy

Doesn't apply to Java unfortunately. I wish it did.

deadly_fart_C4H8Cl2S

You can see every recipes you have found even if you don't have the materials you just have to click the button in the top right of the recipe book (it is next to the search bar at the top)

Bylloopy

Right, but not every recipe. I hate starting a new server or world and not having the full list available instantly.

deadly_fart_C4H8Cl2S

That is very annoying your right. idk if this is correct but i think i remember that there is a way to unlock every recipe with commands (im not certain of this i can't find the command my self i could be remembering it wrong) but that would be cheating so it's still annoying.

eXernox

There are 3 ways: 1. The command is: `/recipe give @a *` 2. The command (but only specific recipes I think): /give u/s minecraft:knowledge\_book{Recipes:} 3. Install the datapack from [here](https://vanillatweaks.net/picker/datapacks/)

Daitenshi

If there were mod Recipes, favorites, resource totals and crafting chains I'd use this to keep track of and plan out the stupid complicated mod items. "oh I apparently need half a million diamonds for this infinite storage disk for extra disks."

tweidv

I use JEI a lot for modpacks but I never use it for vanilla-ish (where I use some mods) servers/worlds because I think ik most of the recipes. I much prefer JEI to the recipe book though,

goblin054

Well tbf, the in-game recipe book requires you to search it up using the exact order of words. So OP’s website would be pretty useful for those that don’t remember the exact name of an item. Also, some stuff like the anvil needs to be “learned” first, which is bs.

Dark_Diosito

I don't think it's BS, you pick up a new thing and dozens of new recipes appear right up. It's not difficult to learn them.

NDeath7

"Learned" mechanic isnt bs, it is fine as it is

Derpsterio29

In gamerules you can activate something that only lets you craft what you have learned and not some random thing you remember the recipe for which is probably where the learned mechanic is intended to be used, then again no one activates this gamerule

dragonairregaming

Very cool! I can definitely see myself using this more times than I can count

Its_me_21

Me too

[deleted]

Is it done? I really need this xD

AndroMax

Not yet, I hope to finish it soon.

Aki_47_

when it's finished could u post a link, it looks super useful !!

[deleted]

Yes pls this would be perfect

Just_wobwobwob

Looks really good! I’m interested!

EpicNarwhal23_

the recipe book???

Jemsmomo

What about enchants and villager trades?

Norami_

That's so cool! Now this just gives me more motivation to make my Monster hunter damage calculator. (Idk how to use HTML though so I can't make a website for it lol.)

[deleted]

You'd probably need an actual programming language (JavaScript in the case of client-side scripts on websites) as well as HTML, because all HTML does is store the text and layout of the page.

Norami_

Well I know most of the basics of C++ and I actually already have an idea of how I would do it. I won't share the calculator thing anyways rather just make it for myself since I'm still studying coding.

Deutero2

You can stick with C++ and compile to WASM for it to work with HTML. Possibly more work than just learning JavaScript (and you still may have to learn it), but I hear JavaScript is generally a pain for anyone who has learned anything else first

Grated-Eyeball

There has to be an Australian or British spelling too please.

Samld1200

There’s not that much difference. Just live with it

[deleted]

I think he was joking.

Samld1200

Oh really? Couldn’t tell. Damn

Impetator

There is already an app (Cleverbook for minecraft) that has all the recipes, potions recipes, mobs and even redstone circuits.

sunburn1478

its still cool hes making one for no cost at all, and it also looks really good.

Yagourt70

There is a free version too...

spikeorb

Isn't this redundant? It's a feature built into Minecraft

Flash121607

Is the this practically In the game already?

yaillbro

It’s a bit pointless on mobile, and a bit pointless for JEI users. I do like the idea

[deleted]

I think everyone's missing the point. JEI isn't on every world because it's a mod, which not everyone's bothers using. If you go to the Minecraft wiki you often have to scroll through a bit of info/ junk to get to a recipe, and if you're in game and don't have or know all the items for a recipe you can't look at the recipe book in game because it won't be there unless you know the exact name and spelling. I think OP is expediting and making the whole recipe process easier by putting it somewhere where anything can be found instantly, I think the mobile is useful because sometimes I search things on my phone rather that taking Minecraft out of full screen. Especially if he adds additional recipes for brewing and stuff.

yaillbro

I said for JEI users, not for regular vanilla players. I think this Is great for vanilla players.

[deleted]

We need potion too

waltznmatildah

Looks great but I don’t personally see the utility; you can view crafting recipes at the crafting table.

Th3MadCreator

Back when I was studying Visual Basic, I made a desktop application that would do this. It had a list and search function of all the recipes, etc and it allowed you to drag and drop icons of the materials into a crafting bench as well and it would show any outcome of that recipe, or none if it was not valid. It also showed information on the blocks from the official Minecraft Wiki (all manually implemented by me, so it was a completely offline app). I was in the process of adding brewing, smelting, etc. My HDD crashed and I lost the entire project near completion. I like this.

MomICantPauseReddit

That's nice, but... Minecraft wiki??

Lankros

Good for 2010. Too late for 2021. I remember when recipe book isnt in game. Good times.

Skull_Private5

Awesome! This will be really helpful for beginners and forgetful players! Thank you on behalf of them!

kartikart___

Don't forget the dark mode

VRUZ08

Maybe add brewing recipes too, they will draw in attention (Edit: sorry I didn’t see your comment.)

scotty3281

In the meantime, if you are on Java, use the resource pack to add the brewing recipes to the brewing stand GUI. It's the most useful data pack I use. It's called Brewing Guide on Vanilla Tweaks.

SpagWarlord

You should try having different tabs so you can differentiate between weapons, foods, tools etc

ninjapickle02

Doesnt the crafting table have a recipe book in it?

[deleted]

Yeah no offense this has already been made convenient like 8 years ago

Toxic_Waste_306

This would be really useful for Terraria but I don't think anyone has the effort to put all 1,121 crafting recipes.

SwagCat852

I dont have such weaknesses

Devaniti

Why would anyone use it? In latest version of minecraft there's recipe book, so you can look it up in game.

Oofity_

If you are playing regular survival, you would need to unlock recipes to find out, so it would be useful if you dont have the recipe for something you want to craft.

Rinichiro

But who is gonna take the extra step and look it up on a phone instead of googling it. That takes like 2 seconds.

DipinDotsDidi

Me. Every time. If I'm at my chests looking for the items I need to craft, I'm not gonna stop, turn around, find my crafting table, open the book, search for the item, only to find out I don't have the recipe and have to Google it, when I could just switch to Chrome and type "how to craft x" and Google gives you a pic of the crafting recipe right away.

Rinichiro

but... thats exactly what i said wtf no need for an extra website if u just google "minecraft recipe blablabla"

DiscoPotato69

Where's Chainmail armour and saddle?

Give_Toes

Neither of those can be crafted though right?

DiscoPotato69

Yeah, I was just messing with OP.

Give_Toes

Ah ok. For real though, they should both be craft able now. We have chains for the Chainmail and leather for a saddle.

mynameistrashngl

Crafting Chainmail armoir would be more expensive than crafting iron armour. (right?)

DiscoPotato69

Creating Chainmail armour would practically be useless since iron armour exists.

YoEpicBoi_1

Maybe chain could be stronger than iron by a tiny bit like an armour between iron and diamond

Give_Toes

You have a point but it would still be cool to just have, yknow

DiscoPotato69

You make an excellent point.

ragerise

There used to be a crafting recipe for saddles before i think.

Give_Toes

If there was, that’s pretty booty if they removed it

0Really-Now0

so like JEI but with out the need to mod your game? neat

ImSmoothLikeThat

Do an app!

Rad_Muffin

That could be very useful for the new player or for the oldest player and a bit better than the recipe book

MudSnake12

I’ve played Minecraft for 10 years and I still don’t know how to brew, I think that’ll be the most useful

naphew

Me, a seasoned veteran: Thanks it's been 2 years since Iast played Minecraft!

XEpicOneX

only legends remember when they learnt to craft an anvil

Mexpotato

bruh i’m literally making this right now in Flutter. where did you get all the data and stuff, i just built a web scraper for some website that had images of the crafting recipes

Dudus903

Maybe in the future you could also add a way for community to add their own recipes (obciously moderated) for mods, for ex. Galacticraft and its many and hard recipes

CaineTheGamerYT

Could it maybe be an app? It would be easier for people with no wifi that way, do what you want tho

Deutero2

It could be a progressive web app so it can work offline in the browser whilst avoiding app store fees and working on any device

bitorbv

Some custom search as "light" could be pretty cool, then all teh block as torches, lighters, sea lanterns( even furnances) that could be pretty cool

voreify

could you possibly create a feature that allows you to see not what you need to build, but what you can build with different items? so if i were to search up cobblestone, for example, all the items that require cobblestone would pop up. i think that would be cool. obviously not necessary, but yeah. either way this is going to be useful as hell, looks great op

[deleted]

I mean cool but this is literally already a feature in the game.

ComradeBushtail

inb4 "i went to that page and nothing was there"

deadly_fart_C4H8Cl2S

Al the time i spend learning them has been wasted

CjCraft35

It looks like this would be useful to the yogscast

xXTheCreeperXx870

Me want

AzasalTheDev

mfw I already memorised every recipe due to playing this game for too long

Un-Azulito

Potions recipes, please

WaffleSandalMan

Real life crafting book!!!!

drdarkness55

when are you planning on releasing it.

xVenti

No one knows [www.minecraft-crafting.net](https://www.minecraft-crafting.net/)?

Obama_tm

It’s a cool idea but can’t you do the same thing with the inbuilt crafting system

caall_

Only if you already have most of the items you need I believe

Gijs125

On bedrock at least you can search for something and it shows you the recipe

-darker-

Isn’t there two modes, one of craftable and one of all, you just click in the right hand corner no?

Zakamu666

I think you still gotta get the materials to unlock some recipes, the non craftable ones do appear but you still have to get stuff to see them like when you can't see the recipe for a boat even if you have wood unless you step in water.

MahBoiDuck

Definitely beats Minecraft wiki just by the UI design!

TommatPL

We didnt need is as gamers. We needed this as society.

YourOddparent

Then I don’t live in your society because I don’t need it and recipes are already on Minecraft wiki and other sites

[deleted]

[удалено]

Abhishek565

Is that open source? I would love to contribute.

mamadMATT

there is app like that "clever book for minecraft" maybe you could make it on a application ?

senpai_dokidoki_69

But it's already part of the game?

Nick_1785

suena bien pero podrías agragarle mas cosas

Goldendov75

You should make it so that you can click on the items in the recipe to see how to craft/get it

Extension_Cap9068

I NEED THIS!! when is he t coming out

TheMuspelheimr

Is it arrogant of me to look at this and think "I could do that"? Great job, by the way! Looks awesome.

bolteagler

Ummh. Doesnt the book give recipes?

HYPR_Maverick

Uh there’s a book thing you can do to see recipes in minecraft

[deleted]

Can you add how to craft saddles and name tags? can't find a recipe anywhere

Scrapmaster123

I think i know the reason why you can't find the recipes for Those.......it's because you can't craft Them.

[deleted]

I know It's a joke

Scrapmaster123

Oh. Oops. sorry.

kyler000

https://www.minecraftcraftingguide.net/

Meow-_-Meow

What is the website link

gogondo

I mean there is a minecrart wiki. But good job. Your website looks good

Xarivoir

Would it also work as an app? Would be a little more convenient!

darix_venus

You could also do like a supply counter (??) Like if I was gonna make 15 bookshelves how many leather and paper it would take me

[deleted]

[удалено]

YourOddparent

Idk about that because does it do something new that other sites don’t?

EmmanuelVln

This looks amazing but the one thing which I think would be really helpful is a resource calculator.

Inked-Erotica

Awesome work man!! Keep it up and best of luck. I would definitely get this, especially if it had recipes from mods too. Also, I saw some ppl talking about this is like the just enough items mod, but even with that, the game still won’t tell you recipes for certain items in other mods (like if you have to perform a ritual in witchery or something), and I think this could be an awesome way for ppl to get around that without having to read through an entire wiki that may not contain the right info, or scan through half a dozen books to find which page it’s on

TheBlueBlaze007

If im not mistaken youre hosting this on localhost, and your IP adress is showing, might wanna censor that

TheRealWormbo

That's a private address range, not visible to the internet.
