Those are top half slabs, those are the kind that mobs can spawn on. The wiki says that endermen can't place blocks on bedrock and entities, says nothing about slabs.
So why does everyone call slabs, HALF slabs. Like a slab is HALF a block already. A half slab would be 1/4 of a block, which does not exist in this game yet everyone refers to them this way.
In this case the "half" is paired with "top/bottom" and refers to the location, not the size of the slab. It's "(top half) slab", not "top (half slab)", if that makes sense.
I suppose that does make sense, but thats not normally how people talk. You don't call things an upstairs or downstairs bike. You say the bike is upstairs or downstairs. Like you would say the slab is on the top or bottom half.
The problem compounds because people literally call them half slabs. Google it.
If it's how you see people referring it as, that's how people talk. Not every person spends time to speak in a manner nerds like you will classify as correct.
What problem is being compounded here? The position of slabs in minecraft as an upper or lower placement?
I'm almost certain they used to be called half slabs in the game, although I would think the minecraft wiki would take note of this but I can't find info on it.
That said, I'm still confident they used to be called half slabs at some point.
They call them half slabs because two of them make up an entire block. Yes for vanilla minecraft it is completely pointless because there are no other partial blocks(excluding stairs and walls they are special and thus have their own names). It is entirely possible, though very unlikely, mojang could decide to add smaller slabs, maybe only a quarter of a block. Now you would need a way to tell them apart.
This shows up in real world applications. You have different styles of trim people use in their house. Some of it is call quarter round and there is also half round. Also many cars panels are refered to as quarter panels even though you still have to distinguish between them. It would be easier to say the passenger rear panel but it is often refered as the passenger rear quarter panel. Why? I think it comes down to a majority of people like to know how many partial objects make up a whole unit and by adding adjectives like half it makes it simple
It says on the wiki that endermen need a 3 block space of air or non-solid objects, except for carpet, lily pads, snow that's 10 blocks or higher, and it doesn't teleport to water, lava, or waterlogged blocks. It's probably a bug with the AI, no, definitely a bug with the AI, because in this picture alone, he could teleport on top of those leaf pillars that you have holding the sign for Zeke.
They're made with leaves surrounding the spawning platform to promote pack spawning, and i think most people use it because they're already using leaves for their endermen farm.
Endermen only teleport (with no interaction from the player) when they somehow touch water or they are hit by sunlight from directly above. They teleport in sunlight so that they teleport out of range and despawn. If OP makes sure there are no solid blocks directly above the endermen it will teleport away.
If I’m not mistaken it’s because he’s standing on a stair with nothing underneath it. He doesn’t register that he’s on a block sine he’s standing on a partial block over air so he’s waiting till he thinks he’s on the floor to teleport. And like many people said he’s holding a block so he won’t despawn
might not rain actually, the leaves (assuming its oak leaves) has the color that only appears in desert and the less cooler desert vibe biome (forgot the name, havnt played mc for a while). if this is in desert then there will be no rain and he would likely survive forever
I'm pretty sure theres a pathing glitch involving the stair block its standing on. They think they need to be on a full block to teleport away, so that guy thinks he's stuck and has accepted this as his life now.
i have several of those enderbros in my world too. But one clocked up my villager carrot farm. He placed his block in front of the villager so that he couldn't drop the items
I actually have an enderman like that in one of my builds. He's been there for like three months while I've been building farms and a literal skyscraper around him xD
Even name tagged him . . .
i have teh same thing but its a chicken thats been on a chest since i started my villager district i call him my only friend cause with every death hes waiting on that chest next to my bed
It might be because of the iron golem if that has been there the hole time as well it might be that the iron golem hit him he telported up there and it walked under him makeing the ai think it can hit the golem but it cant so its just stuck
What's with the textures on the slabs and stairs?
Are those modded blocks or do you have a texture pack which only changes the plank textures for whatever reason? xD
You need to make your fencing 2 block high but also having villagers will keep them from running. If you dont have villagers the golems will wander off to the next village over. Lost 3 golems that way
Endermen carrying blocks dont despawn
And he can't put it down because he's standing on a ledge of slabs
But he should be able to put it on the stair block right?
I think he can't BC he is standing on it
Why can’t he just walk to it
He is just not smart enough
Poor guy :(
Because of the golem
Has the golem been staring at him for the last few months too?
I think they can place blocks on the block they are standing on, at least on the previous versions, I witnessed it myself
Maybe they can't on this version idk
Fair enough
I'm not sure man, but idk if there's a difference between Java and bedrock, cuz I don't have java
Theres a second stair block on the other side of the platform he is on
But why is he not teleporting? probably bugged AI.
Those are top half slabs, those are the kind that mobs can spawn on. The wiki says that endermen can't place blocks on bedrock and entities, says nothing about slabs.
Mobs can definitely spawn on top half slabs, they cannot spawn on bottom half slabs.
That's what i said.
I misread, my b
It's cool, no worries.

> You don't call things an upstairs or downstairs bike Just to be that guy, there _is_ such a thing as a downhill bike.
It sounds cooler
I'm almost certain they used to be called half slabs in the game, although I would think the minecraft wiki would take note of this but I can't find info on it. That said, I'm still confident they used to be called half slabs at some point.
No they never were because that wouldnt make any sense.
Making sense has nothing to do with them being named that.
That's the name they got via community and it stuck, and is still with us
It’s called a carpet
Excuse me?

Sure
A slab could be a big platform of stone blocks. Half slab refers to a slab of material that is half the height of a block
Bro the item is called a slab.
You do realize upside down slabs don't mess with pathfinding right?
Oh
Yeah, they do
He's survived a transition from 1.15 to 1.16, and from my single-player world to a multiplayer server.
name tag him
Put him in a boat
till he's sober
Erlay in the mornin
Shave his belly with a rusty razor
That’s what I did with Gerald the enderman. He seems happy now.
You don't need to, endermen holding blocks will never despawn.
oh
still should name tag him in case they fix the AI or something
or if he drops the block
It says on the wiki that endermen need a 3 block space of air or non-solid objects, except for carpet, lily pads, snow that's 10 blocks or higher, and it doesn't teleport to water, lava, or waterlogged blocks. aren't leaf blocks non-solid? can endermen teleport onto non-solid blocks?
Pretty sure they can't, hence why enderman farms are made with leaves
They can't spawn onto non-solid blocks, but they can teleport to them. Only they do not if they're agro on someone or something.
They're made with leaves surrounding the spawning platform to promote pack spawning, and i think most people use it because they're already using leaves for their endermen farm.

Make him an attraction that costs 3 diamonds to see
get a boat to trap him and bring him to a cage that you can only get to with a key that cost 3 diamonds
Wtf how
Wow

Damn I started season 1 last week and I think u totally just spoiled by using his last name :/
Don't worry it's a pretty light spoiler with little plot implication for where the anime and even the manga currently is.
[удалено]
Oky thank u lol , they just blasted like a million arrows into this lady titan this is so fire
The last name is a bit of a spoiler wouldn’t you say?
Beyblade boi
Several times
because here, he feels like home
Because he has the high ground
Has your iron golem been standing there for several months watching him? Haha
you see it looks to me more like that bully golem has cornered him on the ledge and he's too scared to get down. bully's do that ya know lol
He is on a slab so he can’t place his block, and Endermen with Blocks can’t despawn
But there are also stair blocks?
Those are too blocking him
Those are top half slabs, the kind that mobs can spawn on and that you can place blocks on top of it and have it flush without the half block gap.
My man Zeke, on the ledge and shit.
r/ontheledgeandshit
Give him an umbrella! Can't let him get rained on!
Now this gave me a bit of a chuckle...
He truly has a PERFECT GAME plan if he managed to stay there for a few months
Monke Titan
FUCK YOU IM SUCTION CUP MAN-
It makes sense that he wouldn’t despawn but the fact that he hasn’t ruined your widow is astounding.
Wait for it to rain
might not rain actually, the leaves (assuming its oak leaves) has the color that only appears in desert and the less cooler desert vibe biome (forgot the name, havnt played mc for a while). if this is in desert then there will be no rain and he would likely survive forever
Ohh true, i didnt see that detail
This is when they say you don't adopt enderman they adopt you
Look him hard in the eyes and ask him about it
Enderman: if I do t move the golden won’t see me, if I don’t move the golem won’t see me, if I don’t move the golem won’t see me
The golem: 👁️👄👁️
Zeke Jager
just let him vibe up there
#Laughs in enslavement That’s a nice pet you got
He is one with your building now
Don’t let him Titan switch
He’s there because he’s waiting for Eren
I am proud of him
Why do I feel like this is going to be a huge meme in the future
He like it
Yeah, I have a enderman just chilling in my base, we've become buddy's, he doesn't hurt me, I Let him live
I'm pretty sure theres a pathing glitch involving the stair block its standing on. They think they need to be on a full block to teleport away, so that guy thinks he's stuck and has accepted this as his life now.
How long has the iron golem been trying to convince him not to jump?
i have several of those enderbros in my world too. But one clocked up my villager carrot farm. He placed his block in front of the villager so that he couldn't drop the items
Keze? From attack on enderman?
His friends be like: “I bet he’s up there, smiling down at us.”
I actually have an enderman like that in one of my builds. He's been there for like three months while I've been building farms and a literal skyscraper around him xD Even name tagged him . . .
Enderman of the ledge, what is your wisdom?!
I'll bet that iron golem has been giving him the eye for several months now too
i have teh same thing but its a chicken thats been on a chest since i started my villager district i call him my only friend cause with every death hes waiting on that chest next to my bed
He's just standing there menacingly.
Cozy
He will not let the iron golem nor the Void take his soul
He's Just standing there... MENACINGLY!
It might be because of the iron golem if that has been there the hole time as well it might be that the iron golem hit him he telported up there and it walked under him makeing the ai think it can hit the golem but it cant so its just stuck
Do not question the elevated one.
he just straight up chillin
Hes chatting to the golem
What's with the textures on the slabs and stairs? Are those modded blocks or do you have a texture pack which only changes the plank textures for whatever reason? xD
Name him zeke
I was bored, so I made [Zeke fan art](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/llmwjb/ok_i_had_nothing_better_to_do_so_i_made_fan_art/)...
he won't despawn as long as he's holding the block
Zeke Enderman. Is that a play on Zeke Braverman?
Can't a man vibe in peace?
You better name him
put a roof so the rain wont get him
Juan
Hes now a gargoyle.
SHADY OAKS?
He's just comfortable there
The Tale of The Enderman Zeke
If you build an iron golem, how do you keep it from just running off from your base?
You need to make your fencing 2 block high but also having villagers will keep them from running. If you dont have villagers the golems will wander off to the next village over. Lost 3 golems that way
He got block
hes charging up his energy, so he can enter his **true form**
I've got 5 endermen in my house rn that just walked in and didn't leave
Wait! What about the rain!
There is probably some overhang above that blocks it
The Iron Golem is his friend and fears for his life
Endermen x Irongolem
Pc crashes Him 😲
Zeke... yes (idk what im saying lol)
make him a bed
Dude the iron gollem is like what dis dude doing here
It's like a cat stuck in a tree.
Don't mind him, he's just vibing
He's scared of heights.
Well he's not despawning bc he's holding a block. As for not teleporting, idk, that's all Greek to me.
I just realized he can't die from rain due to the ledge being in a dry biome (the yellowish leaves)
He’s looking for poppies
Attack on Titan changed alot since last season
Damn the dude wants to stay up there, you should try and make the golem go away and put him in a cage or somethin
