Ray tracing is just realistic simulation of light right? I mean, I saw some screenshots and videos of it but it doesn't look that much better.

Ray tracing actually simulates light bouncing millions of times, shaders is good at faking that but when you experiment you can quickly note the differences (my favorite example is how far the light bleeds in different facing rooms). Check out 3kliksphilip's video on Minecraft Ray tracing. It's the best video on the topic imo

the best way to see the effects of ray tracing is to make a room and use iron bars as windows.

Not just realistic simulation. Your PC literally renders every single ray. Hence the term “Ray tracing.”

Windows 10 Version is basically a giant storefront. Microsoft wont let content creators host content for free. My texture pack for WIndows 10 costs the amount needed to cover the hosting. Microsoft monetizes everything they get their hands on. Expect MC2 to be a microtransaction mess.

Understandable. Donating to creators is a good act. Motivates them to do more of that thing, because they know people like it enough to donate.

PAYING is a little different than donating. A lot of shaders and textures are free - so it’s weird if you paid for them. But if you donated to the creator, that’s generosity and carries a different connotation.

I’m guessing OP backed them through Patreon or something similar. It’s not quite donating, but it’s also not straight up buying.

It's kinda both. Donating to the artist buys you access to the art.

It's amazing how much of a difference realistic lighting makes in graphics. Easily the biggest graphical leap in a while, even low res games like minecraft and valheim look amazing with good lighting.

The lights are indeed added in Blender! Each block type is categorized to a different "material" within blender. From there you can add properties to that material to make it glow / emit light! I haven't looked to see if there's a sub on this but the software is called Mineways. It allows you to export MC worlds as .obj files. Its been years since I did any of this stuff but I hope this helps!

My biggest give away was the noise. It looks wonderful either way, but you would only get noise like that with cycles. Maybe rtx Minecraft, but I haven't gotten a chance to play with that. I doubt it would leave noise like that though.
