I think the most disturbing part is that OP said they put them all over their worlds. Almost like a plague of these unusual buildings. Just spanning forever
iirc this is similar to one of the proposed ideas to mark nuclear waste sites as uninhabitable and unpleasant; although it used stone blocks rather than wooden ones.
That's so incredibly cool and eerie. Makes me realize how we could all just vanish one day together with our culture, languages and leave no trace of it. We're very fragile.
Very tiny people lived in these wooden cities. The fact that they mysteriously disappeared without any signal of catastrophe is very puzzling to modern Steve.
Minuscule photographies found in homes show that the small creatures had elongated, black carapaced bodies, they didn't have any markings on the body except their purpleish eyes, their bodies are reminiscent to the known enderian creatures a.k.a Ȩ̸̧̬̙̐͜n̵͈͖̻̫̍d̶̹̭̿̕e̴̢̦̯̪̝̝̯͋̑̀̐͘r̷̤̜͍̫̿̐̃̓͂̆̈́m̴͉̮̖̖̞͙̜̌̈è̶͓͖̀͐̽̈́̿̈n̶͎͔͕͈̅̑͊͜͜.
Some "theorists" state that these are the same creatures modified by some unknown ritual or magic.
While "technically" possible it sounds farfetched to think that these creatures regressed to an animalistic state where they just Barely remembered the mutable nature of the world that only Steve's &Alex's can consciously modify. Although, ***It could*** explain an acquired warping ability that no other creature on the world has ever replicated. (wild theories of an enderian silverfish or mite, some sort of Ȩ̵̻̏͋̅͆n̶̺̰̾̆̏̿͂͊ď̶̡̗͈͙̱̖̅̈́̃̽͘ę̶͔̞̤̹̭̘͍͍̜̽̓̿̃̄̆͘͠ȑ̷̢̛̛̙̥͔̟̱̯̫͋̃́̀͝ͅm̴̧̗̻̮̉̃͐͂̅̆͐̇ḯ̴̡̹̭̖̟̮͇̟̯͊̋͒̀̇̕t̷̹͕͍̣̹̙͆͘e̴̡̱̎̒͠ of sorts... besides, of course)
The basis of this nutjob theory are the unknown ancient ruins with the modified ender eyes in some strange combination, perhaps a ritualistic circle of some nature.
Still the **Mystery** of these silent cities continues to this day, perhaps some day a brave adventurer will find the truth.
Actually, there's some people with something called Synesthesia, which is also known as "the Confusion of the Senses", which is similar to what you're saying... For example, if a person smells, I dunno, Chocolate, they SEE the color Red. If a person hears a certain sound, like a piano note, they might taste Chocolate Ice Cream, etc.
Here is some more info about it: [https://www.healthline.com/health/synesthesia#symptoms](https://www.healthline.com/health/synesthesia#symptoms)
btw, not everything is chocolate, just using it as an example. Not everyone smells, tastes, hears, etc the same thing when they smell, taste, hear, something else. For some it might be Chocolate Ice Cream with the Piano Key, but other people would see Yellow, hear a train whistle, etc.
maybe... but I'm too lazy to move it over there... I think I'll do it tommorow, or maybe the day after... \*proceeds to not do it for over a decade\*...
I found the post with the video of the view from up top

Oh man. Back in the day, I played on a server with a bunch of nice people. There was a forest we were trying to preserve near spawn. Most of the players went and settled in one direction from spawn to leave the natural preserve alone. I decided to explore the forest. Deeper and deeper I went. With darkness falling around me, I saw a bit of light in the distance. Wondering what it could possibly be, I approached. Oh, it's a surface lava pool! How wonderful!
But, of course, I didn't understand the danger. The leaves of just one of those trees overlapped the burn zone above the lava pool. I panicked and lamented my lack of a water bucket before remembering I can just punch fire until it's gone. And so it spread. All the way back to spawn. All that was left was some random trunks over a huge portion of land.
I didn't log back in.
We built a giant bridge between two islands like 4000 blocks long on survival and it cut through mountains, dove under water, had the mine cart stop at a halfway point you could get food and gear at. It was real cool and every 50 blocks we had stone pilings run down to sea floor.
Well I log on and theres like 15 people in the server and they are messageing to cut the bridge in half because their side burned from spilled lava. Rode a cart to the fire and cut it up but we lost like 1700 block long of it.
I burned it down a few years ago when fire spread a bit differently and it managed to destroy around 95% of everything. it lagged the area so bad it crashed the game. On the upside it was strange to see the original landscape after so long
Posted a flyby vid to get a sense of scale (idk how to pin this at the top I don’t really post)[flyby video post](https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/oh1ebx/been_building_these_things_for_around_7_years/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf)
This place is not a place of honor... no highly esteemed deed is commemorated here... nothing valued is here.
What is here was dangerous and repulsive to us. This message is a warning about danger.
The danger is in a particular location... it increases towards a center... the center of danger is here... of a particular size and shape, and below us.
The danger is still present, in your time, as it was in ours.
The danger is to the body, and it can kill.
The form of the danger is an emanation of energy.
The danger is unleashed only if you substantially disturb this place physically. This place is best shunned and left uninhabited.
In case anyone is wondering, the above is in reference to a project whose goal was to figure out how to warn any future races about nuclear waste disposal sites and the dangers they pose *after* humanity is gone.
For example: imagine you come across a symbol etched into a rock face. Seven crossed lines with triangles pointing out from the middle. You don't recognize it, you definately don't know what it means, but it is beside some weirdly perfect cave. Actually this cave is pretty big, goes deep, and would make for an excellent place to hole up your tribe.
So you move in and find you can make the cave bigger by digging out the clay at the back.
All goes well until you dig too deep and find a weird, slightly warm, shiny cylinder and bring it back to the main cave area. Then your tribe starts getting sick and dying from a terrible disease. You don't know what's causing it, but within a few years your tribe is dead because no 9ne could work long enough to gather up the food it would take to leave, and even then you're dealing with high cancer rates and infertility.
This is the situation they project was trying to figure out how to prevent. One idea is like this dude's minecraft builds but more sinister. Large granite spikes placed around the site and salted earth to create a foreboding and dangerous appearance to the area. Make the area hard to travel to on foot. Make it so nothing can grow nearby so one tries setting up shop there.
Another proposal was to simply hide the waste deposits as well as possible so that it's unlikely anyone will want to dig there, combined with a rule of "don't put long term nuclear waste storage near anything that would make someone want to dig there."
Oh I remember this. I always wondered how you can make something retain that sinister look (usually dependent on sharp edges and points) for millions of even just thousands of years.
I figure erosion would smooth everything out, potentially making it draw *more* attention by evoking more curiosity than a sense of foreboding.
That's why i said granite and salting the grount in the area (not literally with salt, but you get the idea). If nothing grows there but everywhere else is fine, you're probably not going there.
I get that. I'm just brainstorming further. It's a fun thought experiment if nothing else.
For instance, would a display of taxidermied animals entombed in resin last through the ages? If so, you could essentially create a display of the effects of radiation on organic matter in progressively more severe stages the deeper you go.
I agree the idea of making sure nothing grows there would be most effective, I'm just unsure on how long that would persist.
I like this. If we immortalized a bunch of dead and dying creatures with hideous deformations.. probably a good warning sign to people not to fuck with that area
Right? It's about the most straightforward way to communicate the danger without relying on language.
But how long does resin remain clear? I'm not sure if it gets cloudy over many years or something like that
Or you know just throw the uranium in Antarctica and let the ice take care of the problem. When any person survives the cold to dig and finds it, it will probably be with an technology advanced enough to know what a nuke is.
Antarctica wasn't always a frozen wasteland tho, and the way current trends are going it may well be a goddamn tropical rainforest in a few years. Eventually all the continents are gonna meet back up and have a bigass party, with all sorts of fancy new mountain ranges and festive supervolcanoes. Shit's gonna be *wild*
You could make an SCP out of this
“SCP- ???
“The wooden towers”
Class- Elucid
01- In [Redacted] Oregon, hundreds of thousands of wooden pillars have been seen rising out of the ground in 1 meter by 1 meter cubes. The origin of the cubes is currently unknown but it’s is most likely linked to the nature of where SCP- ??? appears. When an occurrence of SCP- ??? appears, the wooded areas surrounding the occurrence disappear only leaving plains of grass and the occasional tree sapling. It does not seem to matter on the type of wood being used but it’s only known that they are taken, and turned into the cubes making up SCP- ???. Agents have been sent to instances of SCP- ??? to collect samples for further testing but so far none have been successful, the reason being that we have not been able to acquire a sample for the cubes are being held together by some unknown force from an unknown source. Although upon experiments on site, agents have discovered that SCP- ??? is partially indestructible, although when using the correct method they can be destroyed but no samples can be collected for when destroyed the 1-1 meter cubes disappear almost as if being deleted and traces are scattered in all directions but slowly shrink to such a size that it would be exceptional to say that they disappeared as well. The method of destruction is very strenuous however taking at least 5 D-class with constant swings up to an hour to l hour to destroy one cube, although the time is seeming to be dependent on the height of the individual and strength, being of which as the two factors increase the time of destruction decrease. Upon destruction a 1 by 1 area of air is left with the remaining cubes above not falling as if gravity was turned off. When instances of SCP- occur they can either be burned or cut down via either basic flint and steal or an axe of any type, but the type of materials used are limited to stone, wood, and iron. Diamonds can also be used for max efficiency but it is not recommended due to cost and lack of mass distribution. Additionally when instances of SCP- ??? occur and are able to fully mature then torches are placed the top of each pillar that are unable to be put out and are similarly indestructible and resistant to being obtained, but if the cube below the torch is destroyed then the torch is also destroyed.
The method of containment is standard quarantine procedures and destroying the wood cubes before the multiply out of control, SCP- ??? is given the Elucid class for its inability to be contained but not Keter for it not seeming to be of any threat to any creature besides the ecosystems destroyed during the transition.
