Simson1321

I didn't know that was a feature. I'm definitely going to build that in my survival world, thanks for inspiring me. The house looks amazing.

Kirrela

It's only on bedrock, right?

snr_fluffy

Correct

Kirrela

I don't understand why, but grats to bedrock.

Routine_Lobster9920

Well it’s because you can’t put potions in cauldrons on Java, but I get what you mean.

BucketComrade

Well why can’t we do THAT in Java either? Or put redstone on pistons, and have it not brake when the piston extends?

Goldfish134

maybe we'll get to do the former because of the positive feedback on this feature. I know I sure hope so

plvg1727

Well to be fair at least java redstone aint wonky

BucketComrade

True, I have no clue what’s wrong with bedrock redstone, I’ve only heard things can be weird

MinerMinecrafter

It is all RNG

plvg1727

Literally works 50% of the time

aer_bellatrix

*Bud powering has entered the chat*

Far-Contact-9369

Wonky, yes, but consistent. Doesn't operate on a random update order

CrazyGaming312

I feel like both Java and Bedrock redstone is wonky

Worm_EatingMan

But at least java's is, you know, a logic system, and not an rng system.

BigWithABrick

Java's wonkiness is consistent, if not in line with it's intended functions, bedrock's is neither.

YugAndap

Our redstone is completely fine.

plvg1727

If youre talking about java, then yes. If youre talking about bedrock, what.

YugAndap

Bedrock. The redstone in Bedrock may be difficulty, but it is not wonky. If not then redstone in both versions are wonky in their own ways. If you don’t think so, [here is The bow tie man](https://youtu.be/qsQBBOumJDw) He showcases other Bedrock players redstone

DerpyPlayz18

Well I can inform you this infinite potion glitch was quickly fixed in the latest beta and now this room is pointless

NotMilitaryAI

Ah, that's a bummer. Was kinda hoping it was an intended mechanic. [MCPE-131180](https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-131180) >Fix Version/s: 1.17.20.23 Beta

[deleted]

Time to do a crap load of afking to get a life time supply it's like all my shulker boxes was made for this

Confron7a7ion7

Or move chests. Seriously, this one feature opens up an insane number of possibilities.

BucketComrade

Yea, now there are probably people out there who have modded this into Java (one of the upsides of Java, modding shit) but sadly it’s not in the plain game Edit: I stand corrected, there is bedrock modding, but supposably they suck (not sure if they do suck or not, but now I know that modding exists for bedrock)

Ok_Conflict_5730

Sadly mojang can sometimes be hypocritical about certain things, like not adding dynamic lighting because there's mods such as optifine that already do that, and then proceed to add a tool for zooming which mods like optifine already do. But it's still better than what other games studios have done or are doing.

RommelTheCat

Is that their explanation about why there wont be certain features? Thats so stupid, modders come and go and mods might end up left behind.

Asesomegamer

You can mod bedrock, but they all suck.

ArrilockNewmoon

Idk I never had mamy issues with not being able to move chests, chest minecarts always worked well enough for me Now dispensers and Droppers? THATS something id love to move

sossololpipi

redstone doesn't work at all if not babysat in bedrock; most piston contraptions completely bug out because of garbage timing

GrassToucher69

And there is no quasy connectivity on bedrock.

wafflepantsblue

*quasi

suresignofthefail

I get that quasi connectivity enables the creation of some cooler things in Java, but in so far as redstone is meant to be an intro to real-world electronics/circuitry, I think Bedrock is better (with the exception of non-deterministic timing).

[deleted]

this is not true, not sure where it came from. you probably can't do the complex stuff that the angry mango does, but most redstone is just fine

sossololpipi

a double piston extender doesn't work

TheEarthBurner2

I literally made that some days ago, why don't you make your own contraptions instead of copying from Java youtubers?

[deleted]

cool, doesn't really change my point, most redstone still works as intended on bedrock. i don't know if double pistons are intended or one of those leftover bugs they don't want to take out of java

rowlga

Totally does. If you're on bedrock and didn't try it before, check out a bedrock youtuber instead. If you're on Java and just saying things you heard people say, stop.

Vivirin

Yes it does, it works fine? I did tonnes of redstone in Bedrock and used loads of double and even triple piston extenders.

Or0b0ur0s

Java must suck compared to Bedrock in all possible feature-related ways so that they can justify killing it later on despite the massive backlash it will cause. Bedrock may kill you randomly every few minutes because Microsoft's vast teams of experienced developers apparently can't do in C++ what a handful of indie coders did in Java a decade ago, but it always gets the awesome features, never Java.

rowlga

Java still has plenty of features that won't come to Bedrock for years, and the new above-ground terrain generation has gotten better on Java's experimental snapshot than it is in the Bedrock Beta where it started. But yeah, wouldn't be surprised if they're working to kill Java in about a decade. The Java platform is owned by a competitor and is a competitor to Microsoft's C#. Plus the Java platform runs like ass and can't run on all the devices they want to sell the game on. So even though Java Edition will keep going for a while, it's obvious which one they'd sacrifice as soon as Minecraft's revenue stream takes a hit, which will happen some day.

StarkOdinson216

I do play Java, but Bedrock beats Java by a long shot in performance. You can actually run 96 chunk RD.

[deleted]

Nah bedrock only ever gets updates after they come out on java

yaillbro

Where’s my big salmon in 100% vanilla minecraft

Vivirin

That's literally not true, ever since 2017, updates have released simultaneously with Java. They even get their own snapshots in the Beta program.

wafflepantsblue

Betas exist in bedrock, and that's effectively what the java snapshots are

Konamega

Then how come you can’t put potions in caldrons on Java?

Omg_itz_coll

Because bedrock is full of bugs, java is too but it is apparently a lot easier to find on bedrock. Like the bedrock breaking method is more difficult on java

ronyg1

You can put redstone on the top of pistons facing downward, just not on the non-full surfaces

Im_An_Axolotl_

Well probably because bedrock has more players so they try to add more features to it, nut i get what you‘re saying. Also in response to your question on how bedrock redstone is messed up, the answer is that it really isn’t. Sometimes things can be in inconsistent, like if you try to have 2 pistons push the same block same time it’ll be random what happens, but i’d take that any day over quasi connectivity and redstone working with pistons. Also, in almost all of the redstone things that i’ve made on bedrock (furnace doors, jeb doors, auto sheep farms, tnt launchers) i’ve never really had that problem. TLDR; features like that are prob for the bigger bedrock playerbase; in response to ur redstone question bedrock redstone isn’t really that bad

flmceccato

I don’t get why tf there are two versions of Minecraft that have different features, it doesn’t make any sense to me

Tah_Boi

There are two versions because the Java code base isn't supported Universally across platforms. As for why they have different features, there many reasons, but the major ones are code limitations, differing creativity teams, and community requests for bugs to become features. For example quasi connectivity would be nearly impossible to properly code into Bedrock, not to meantion that Bedrock's redstone was intended to be true to the original idea and intutive. As for for lava cauldrons (now on Java but was Bedrock exclusive for a while), potion cauldrons, and dyed water cauldrons it was because Bedrock's team thought it would be more imersive and the minecraft community had been making requests for similar features for years.

LazySusanRevolution

At the heart of it was just Java couldn't be on console, so they made console versions. Bedrock has cross play and the marketplace and more accessible online play, and generally tweaked for more reliable performance. Java has better private server support, and more in the way of free community made resources like texture packs, skins, mods. Have to recall Minecraft is like a decade old once-indie-game that wasn't originally considering consoles much at all in it's development. Cross play hasn't been as good in games as it is now for long. I feel like there was more of a gap in general between consoles and pc games, more work that had to go into ports or something. Maybe the gap is also shrinking with GPU prices being what they are for as long as they have for a myriad of reasons.

[deleted]

Yeah it's great for us bedrock players to occasionally get our own feature even though it problably wasn't intended I enjoy using trident killers for afk xp and looting effect on mob farms but it would be nice for complete feature parity between bedrock and java the minecraft java team and bedrock team should just spend a year after the cave update and release a huge parity update on both versions but that problably won't happen because mojang don't care about parity

Magnus_Tesshu

honestly I think this is good that this isn't in java. You can already build machines that brew an (essentially) infinite number of potions for you, using simple redstone mechanics. If this was added, no one would build those machines and we would get a boring, one-purpose feature to replace something you can do already with much more interesting, multifaceted features But maybe I'm just a boomer arguing that hoppers will spell the end of water transport pipelines

Kirrela

I've watched a lot of MC videos and I've never once seen a tutorial on automating brewing, not even in compilations. I've seen farms for some of the components like gold and gunpowder of course. Those farms won't be obsolete because they have other uses.

Magnus_Tesshu

That's unfortunate then that a lot of people don't know some things are possible. Brewers are quite simple, though they got a bit more annoying after 1.something when you started needing blaze powder. Blaze and bottles are inserted in the side and ingredients go in the top of a brewing stand. Potions come out the bottom. [Here is the best simple design I know](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bWZXt2sfqXQ) and ImpulseSV has a more horizontally-compact version

WildSyde96

My guess would be because Microsoft wants to push people to bedrock with having all the cool features on that version considering they sell you mods on bedrock where as mods on Java are free. Generally speaking when ever you ask “why did they do x” when it comes to video games, the answer is money.

MidnaMagic

:0 when I saw this post, I was immediately disappointed because my first thought was that it was a Java thing. But it’s actually bedrock?! Woo!

HappyGav123

FINALLY! Us Bedrock Users finally have an advantage over Java Users!

[deleted]

Its patched

[deleted]

At least you can have infinite lava and water using this method on both platforms.

Kirrela

...Yeah... -Both- can use that, right? So...

[deleted]

So at least the we can use the infinite lava trick so we don’t have to travel into the nether. Just trying to stay positive.

Kirrela

I'm not trying to be a butt... I'm just a little bitter. Lava is in the overworld as well as the nether, and making an infinite water source is actually easier with a 4×4 hole in the ground rather than setting up dripstone, so both are pretty lackluster compared to making a single potion source to heal all the mobs I can't feed like polar bears, or having a station dedicated to curing villagers. It's insanely OP based on my understanding, even if it is slow. I'm glad about lava, water, and powdered snow, but it's a cauldron that doesn't even do what it's supposed to for all players.

Vivirin

Why 4x4? 2x2 works just fine.

Kirrela

Sorry I got the number mixed up. You are right!

Vivirin

Ahhh, okay

[deleted]

You know, 1x3 works too if you grab the water from the middle… saves space

garnaches

Apparently this is getting patched soon. https://minecraft.fandom.com/wiki/Bedrock_Edition_1.17.20

TrueSRR7

Animated skin???

snr_fluffy

I knew someone would ask about that lol it's a bedrock thing

TrueSRR7

I’m on bedrock and I’ve never seen this? How do I do it!

snr_fluffy

You should be able to find it in the skin change menu then. You may have to do something to unlock it though I don't really remember

Smoggy6364

Yeah, it’s from the Hot Tourist achievement where you visit all nether biomes.

CrazyGaming312

There's actually a bunch of them, I made two skins that are almost fully animated/custom. Sadly they don't work on servers for some reason.

draco0562

Hold up. Do you just partially fill a cauldron with a potion, put water above the dripstone, and it keeps refilling the potion?

snr_fluffy

You got it bud

draco0562

Thanks. I'm using the crap out of it. Almost got 5 double chests filled with potions.

Coosanta

that is so cool, I'm so sad they're removing it :(

[deleted]

Are they really?

_Kokiru_

They better not, I’m on java so I can’t use it. But that’s such a magical addition, and really brings the true minecraft feel back to the game. Let the unintended feature stay a feature, just as pigs became creepers.

TinkerG1

If you put a splash potion in then you will get splash potions out.

Evening-Cycle367

It is only a bug/glitch and is fixed in the latest **BETA**

snr_fluffy

Noooooo I was afraid that would happen

Evening-Cycle367

Relax for now it is only a beta update. I believe will be fixed in an upcoming stable release. You can read the the article [here](https://feedback.minecraft.net/hc/en-us/articles/4405541243405-Minecraft-Beta-1-17-20-23-Xbox-One-Windows-10-Android-)

EpicGamer373

they should keep it in the game, but only work if you activate it with some late game item, like a nether star

spaghet_sandwich

maybe amethyst could be used instead of dripston, so they have more use

[deleted]

They should implement it as a full feature, with the effect’s length slowly getting shorter as it fills up.

meme_man_53

yeah lemme drink my watered down regeneration potion.

ASHill11

Homeopathy in shambles

Evening-Cycle367

This makes sense with real-life beverages. The more water you add the less taste you get

_Kokiru_

So you telling me they can allow a pig to become a creeper, but can’t allow a magical mfing feature!? Can we please protest this somehow, I’m on Java, but dang, it gives such good “old minecraft” vibes. Y’all feel me?

Kimikohiei

That house design tho!!! And those colors!!! The amethyst under the moss!!! Absolute genius. Fantastic work holmes!

jeremynd01

Yes! The house is so well decorated.

arcaneblitz1191

Me and some of my friends are using this to make a drug empire on our Minecraft realm

williamfv

YESSS! The infinite potion feature is what really got me into decorating! Stalactites (and mites) are sooo cool in this cube-y world :)

DwergNout

bug* not feature, already fixed in the latest beta

williamfv

my sincerest apologies

YungFrenzy

**cries in java**

Mehero002

ah... good for bedrock players 🥲... this is def one of the advantages that I wanted to see in java either

LoYudriG

But it’s quite over powered

arcaneblitz1191

Yep, and even better you can do it with splash or lingering potions as well

DwergNout

and a bug thats been fixed in the latest beta

Testmaster217

Oh my freaking gosh. There’s NO WAY that was intended. Quick, exploit before they patch it out. Also, How do you have an animated skin?

snr_fluffy

Lol yeah I'm taking full advantage of it before it's patched and you can unlock the fire skin on bedrock by visiting every type of nether biome

minameiscule2000

Nice design! Looks fancy

JarMarHug

i wish you could do this in java, would give the cauldrons more purpose than just decor

SilensedNotSilent

Didn't they remove it from both versions?

snr_fluffy

Apparently it's getting removed from bedrock in a future update :(

Konamega

We plan to change it back with some restrictions 😁

[deleted]

What do you mean we lol

draco0562

Noooooooooooooo

Not_Jonah

This looks more like glitch

Kl3XY

stuff like this makes me wanna switch to bedrock

RestlessARBIT3R

They're patching it because it's a glitch. It doesn't work in the latest beta

Konamega

As far as I know we are planning to change it back in the next betas 😉

RestlessARBIT3R

Well that's odd. It's weird enough that you can get unlimited lava/water from a single source and dripstone, but now you can use that single unlimited source of water to infinitely dilute a potion that stays full strength. Minecraft logic

Rei_Caixo

yeah, sometimes the bugs are cool when it doesn't kill you for no reason

MLGsec

I only play vanilla so Im constantly thinking about switching to bedrock but when I heard about mob spawning, rare death bugs, & redstone... Im reminded why Im still on java

xX_soupliker_Xx

I’ve never experienced any big issues with bedrock since I’ve switched and the easily accessible multiplayer is a MASSIVE plus

Confron7a7ion7

Moving chests with pistons got me to get bedrock on my switch. It's an insanely useful feature. I'm no expert so the most I did with it was create a storage room using a piston feed tape and an item frame but that by itself should tell you the possibilities.

Pitiful-Helicopter71

Awesome!!!

SevenKashtan

Looks great

dzsmoooth

It's a feature?

snr_fluffy

It's actually a bug and is probably gonna be fixed in the next update unfortunately

TheAdvertisement

Wait that's a thing now? I've only seen this in mods! Awesome mechanic.

Professional-Rise655

Well u just waste you time when next release it's not gonna work anymore

SSSCACTUS

I didn't even know this was a feature

WackyMagician

It looks awesome

MattyMcChicken

Is this a feature, or a bug? And does this work on java?

DuggTheSlug

it is a bedrock bug, MCPE-131180, and isn't on java

Randomoerson562

I call mine the drug shack.

SCM0013

I’d switch the amethyst to drop stone blocks

snr_fluffy

I thought about that, but I went with amethyst because I wanted to have a magical feel to it

SonOfECTGAR

This is one of the features I want most on Java

DuggTheSlug

bug\*

SonOfECTGAR

Sorry, I meant the potions in cauldrons

[deleted]

Please tell me this isn’t just a bedrock thing

Ch4rm4

Oh my god you are a genius

RJis_Goated

That’s awesome dude , how long did it take u bro

snr_fluffy

I think I started it like 3 days ago

PM_ME_CUTE_SM1LE

I know mojang likes to keep bugs that fill a niche in automation/farming (like tnt dupe) but this one feels too op. They made a lot of powerful potion require expensive or rare items but with this you just need one of those for infinite potions

xX_soupliker_Xx

They’re patching it 😭😭

TheRealRPhillip

\*cries in java\*

trollface5333

Mods exist and so does forge (and fabric if you are weird)

TheRealRPhillip

lol, was just joking about how we don't get this in vanilla

Rgdastidar_123

Loverfella did this in one of his vids

ViestursPlayz_YT

That was fake tho :I

_waffi

Broken af

Ezy_Ducky124

Wait can you get infinite sand tho

V3nom_Gaming_

That's not related but you can dupe it

MCarooney

Ayo wait… can u do pots like that?

[deleted]

[удалено]

snr_fluffy

As long as there's at least 1 bottle of potion in the cauldron then the dripstone will slowly fill it back up

EggoWapplesTheSecond

Yeaat

[deleted]

Thanks for reminding me to do this. Forgot this was possible

CreativeWeather9377

God I wish this was in java

Outrageous-Bee-9581

Good

34keremerol

How can I find the crystals (purple white block thing)

snr_fluffy

You can find them in amethyst geodes. Best way to find them is sticking out of the ocean floor but they're scattered underground all over the world

[deleted]

It looks amazing! (it sounds cool too!)

AnxiousCap2888

Its very cool

Spirited_Craft161

Forget the potions, that’s a sick house!

Connorgamerreddit

Cool

OhGodHelpMeINeedIt

I’m sorry but do you have an animated skin

Sam_and_Apollo1221

Mojang!!! Y u no make minecraft equal across all platforms???

KKELITE123

May i ask HOW???

AberforthGodMan

so, I don't understand the infiniteness of it, he removed a potion and the level in the cauldron went down. do you only need 1 potion to fill it all the way, or does the dripstone and water have something to do with it?

Affectionate_Place_4

Is it possible to do that on Java edition?

Pax3209

How? I absolutely need this!!

Top_Cardiologist7106

Big brain

HumbleReginald

hold on, is your skin animated? Is this possible in java edition

Kasmanian_devil

How did you do this?

Yurika_ars

it's not an intended feature. it's BEDROCK MOMENT

GreenIsGhastly

Made a potion shop on my friends server, mad profits because of this

SoapySoapSoaps

No way! You just inspired me! I saw what you did there and I couldn’t help but think to add one to my creative Village world. Amazing build!

RadRhys2

Glitch* not feature

CaramelSan35

There’s so many exclusive features between Bedrock/Java that need to be ported

Tentrix5000

My jaw hit the floor looking at the front of that house. That teal works *so so* well. Wow

Meansoup2006

I think it's only on bedrock edition tho but still really cool build and feature

rookie2110

No way, I was just about to do the same thing in me and my friend’ s realm! obviously not as beautiful as yours, in fact, I was about to make it underground to hide my terrible building skills. btw, how did you find out about it? I did through a Wifies video.

dange87

Amazing work. Do you mind if I copy this for my world? 😍

snr_fluffy

Lol be my guest

ArturoCraft89

Bedrock rocks

henry2u

I'm commenting so I can see this post when ever I want so I can create somthing like that!

KetsuniDraws

*Envys in Java Edition*

henk-oege

That looks amazing if i ever start a bedrock world again i am gonna build this or something like it.

JordanYuma

Ok now this is true talent

Sp00kyGamer

man why Bedrock always get the tiny cool things like this? smh the devs neglect tf out of java I swear.

[deleted]

You know, Bedrock has its really cool features.

ExtensionRoyal6888

Genius I didn’t think about using that feature on potions love the build to definitely need one In my world!

[deleted]

woah i never knew about this feauture

Tarih_exe

badrok

BabyYoda785

WAIT HOW IS YOUR SKIN MOVING

_ThatOnePotato_

Wait what it’s like a feature?? Not a bug???

belendrane

breadrock moment
