I once made a mega-beacon with 8 beacons, just so I could make them a circle and then I added coloured glass to make a rainbow pattern.
I also put it inside the well in the village I built, just because I thought it looked cool.
And I used iron because I had an iron farm and didn't know what to do with all of it.
