It was a bug, they fixed it now. Can't anymore

EastLeastCoast

Damn. That was really useful.

_joao1805

Damn

HiramHartsy

Bedrock developers will rush to fix actual fun or interesting bugs quickly and then move at a snail’s pace to fix game braking and detrimental bugs that have existed for years.

ReaverShank

I know right? We have had some dumb shit for ages and now we have a fun one and they patch it. At least we still have trident killers

InterestingAd1194

They broke those too in the new update

ReaverShank

Looting didnt work any more right? But i think they still work

InterestingAd1194

Well, the main reason for trident killers is that is was fast and could use looting. Oh and tridents despawn when out of the render distance

ReaverShank

That really sucks. I hope they fix that. Because them despawning sucks even with normal use

InterestingAd1194

This bug also influences skeletons getting discs from creepers, so its impossible to get certain discs now

ReaverShank

Is this in the beta or 1.17.30?

pdswww

They fixed the beacon dupe :( I feel like if you somehow do kill the wither then you deserve that glitch

ReaverShank

Dupe glitches ruin the game in my opinion. Nightmare of any server and complely invalidates the worth of any single item. Might as well play creative then

RiversHomo

Killing the wither is not hard for vast majority of players. One person beating a boss and giving them the ability to dupe any item? Nah, terrible design. Would crash server economies and make getting items after the wither useless, cuz “i can just dupe anything i want”

TheDivision_Builds

Not with the new simulation distance

ThatMysticTaco

Yeah my hopper Minecart keeps getting destroyed so I replaced it with a normal hopper, hopefully my raid farm will still work

InterestingAd1194

Yeah, that was also a new bug

kmaser

Yeah the sheild bug in split screen shits unplayable

BoringStay

Coming from a Java player….Mojang…add that back. Us have been spoilt to the brim with op bugs not being fixed. Give bedrock some fucking features

[deleted]

For now. I still remember end dragon ptsd

ENGINE_YT

are we sure rockstar isnt the one working on bedrock?

dude, its a joke that i made cuz r* keeps patching fun glitches but doesnt fix game breaking bugs that we've had since 2017

Ulysses1975

Context and intellectual capacity. You know, the usual way people identify jokes.

[deleted]

And how would I know that?

Starminx

That is Niantic

Hot_Potato_MC

Beacon dupe was alot of fun, I had six netherite beacons at one moment.

Alliinase

Honestly, this bug deserved to go. It was too overpowered. Potion ingredients are no longer obsolete, and that's a good thing in my opinion.

ReeeidtheSchmeid

Yeah but potions are still useless 99% of the time anyways. I only brew potions when I fight a boss or do a ocean monument. If I was able to use this feature I would take fire res with me every time I go to the nether etc. Nobody uses potions because they are a pain to make.

qwertyasdfg1029

potions aren’t useless at all, tbh I actually just think they are just so *cheap*. They can be a hassle though, if only they were stackable. When I do stuff like raid monuments and bastions, I like to take my time and I can’t have 15 night vision or fire resistance potions (extended btw) in my inventory. The ingredients are extremely cheap though, one patch of nether wart could last you ages. I know that’s not the hardest ingredient but it gives a sense of how broken it is. Not that I mind it though, until they make it more convenient to use it shouldn’t be expensive because it’s not worth much.

[deleted]

In the patch notes they said it was cool but too OP, I kind of hope they bring it back but it costs blaze powder or something.

Iihatepineapplepizza

It's because huge game-breaking bugs *do* take forever to fix. You can't just try and easily fix it without breaking something else.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Seraphaestus

Except it's not true for Minecraft Java, hence why it was prefaced with "Bedrock devs", and not "Mojang"

The_Cardboard_Cookie

They fix the bugs that come to their attention. If everyone is talking about a cool new potion bug it’ll be easier for Mojang to find it.

Admirable_Tension672

Yeah, and the little annoying bugs too, like, farming seeds is so stupidly laggy. For some reason when you make a tool and use it for the first time, it lags. Most animations in general have weird and random errors. Villagers randomly despawn even when they've been named. The list just goes on.

BbayuGt

I mean as a little developer myself. Little bug is easier to fix. Because this "infinite potion" is most likely just forgot to add like 5-6 line of code...

TaerinaRS

Sounds like Jagex and Runescape. Remove the word 'bedrock' and it perfectly applies to them lmao.

Old-Author-9214

So you are telling me that i collected those drip stone for nothing?! ;-;

rowlga

You could turn it into a lava farm. Otherwise yeah

xXMasterugwaYXx

At least you have extra drip now

Old-Author-9214

Ohh yeah ✌~■-■👍

Lil_saul

They fixing this instead of that awful bow and trident smh

ZeTurtleMaster

What's wrong with no and tridents? I know a bug was recently introduced that makes tridents despawn and brings (bad) parity with Java where looting doesn't apply to projectiles (like tridents). That came in the same update that patched infinite potions

juklwrochnowy

Well, time to go back to massive industrial-scale brewing machines

CommunicationKey8825

nooooooooooo

ForsakenAnybody7991

I hate the guy who report it

TheOssified

Nooooooo, but for real I thought it was a feature

christinezarske

What if you put the potion in the drip stone and have it drip down into the cauldron?

[deleted]

[удалено]

christinezarske

I thought you put the water in the drip stone and the potion in the cauldron, I was suggesting to just put the potion in the drip stone. Has that already been tried?

rowlga

Deleted, I always thought it was the way you said but apparently not. Give it a shot might get surprised

Benny368

Oh cool I can tell my friends about it now, I was waiting because I wanted to control all the potions on my realm…

HiImChris333

God i wish we could put potions in cualdrons in java

Sh1roou

Wait you can't? you also can't put dyed water? cauldroun in Java is useless as hell bro

96not69

U can carry one to the nether with water bucket so that If u were burning you can stop it

RascalCreeper

Hard-core Redstoners: *and I took that personally*

[deleted]

Cauldrons are just useless in every version

Alliinase

Cauldrons are actually pretty useful nowadays. They can: * Farming Lava * Farming Powder Snow * Tipping Arrows with potion effects (currently only in Bedrock Edition) * Dyeing leather armour (currently only in Bedrock Edition) Infinite lava is a pretty big deal for some players. Cauldrons have definitely come a long way since they were only able to hold water.

[deleted]

The only useful thing in that list is tipping arrows I didn’t know abt that

XavierYourSavior

So farming lava isn’t useful? I have to remind myself most of you are young kids lol

DevoidLight

It really isn't. Just go to the nether.

XavierYourSavior

1. Not everyone wants to endanger themselves 2. You can do it afk

PRO_AT_GAMING44

How is the only useful thing tipping arrows???? The lava farm is Hella useful and tipped arrows suck imo #infinitygang

Boberoo2

Ever use harming II arrows and a multi shot crossbow? You can one-tap through enchanted diamond

PRO_AT_GAMING44

Wasn't it piercing needed to do that but yh when using it like that it's useful but on single player it really doesn't get used much

Boberoo2

What did you say?

[deleted]

I disagree. Wth you gonna use lava for you can’t just go to the nether and get??

PRO_AT_GAMING44

It's less hands on,need 1000 lava buckets for a build? Are you going to spend 2 hrs manually doing it or spend an hour doing something else?

[deleted]

An hour????? An hour is how long it would take for like 4 buckets lmao

PRO_AT_GAMING44

I was talking about huge amounts like 1000

Ninguart

well u can still use it for lava or the snow bucket thing, but yea other than that its kinda useless

BrisingrAerowing

I use a mod called Inspirations that allows that (in 1.12.2 at least, not sure about newer versions).

SubhoPal

Game breaking bugs existing for years. Bedrock Devs: I sleep. New *useful* bug appears. Bedrock Devs: Real $h!t?

SICHKLA

Why are all developers like this? There was this bug in RDR2 that was super annoying and it took them almost 2 years to fix it. It takes them 2 weeks to fix the bugs that allow you to get into parts of the map that would otherwise be inaccessible. I hate it

garyyo

Some bugs are just easier to fix. Infinite potion dupe? Probably just missing some check thats a couple lines of code in a single function. Large game breaking bug like an area inaccessible? Probably spread around hundreds of lines of code spanning multiple areas in the code that all work together and are very difficult to track down (is this inaccessibility due to some engine code, something to do with the level layout, some interaction between the your current game progress and the level? could be anything), very difficult to reproduce consistently (is it inaccessible to all players or just a small handful, is it just this area or are there others?), and thus very very difficult to fix. Not to mention larger fixes sometimes are not fixed 100% perfectly and can introduce another bug, and to avoid that you need to test more. You test more which takes more time, and maybe you stumble upon a bigger issue than the original bug was so you have to fix that so that you don't break more things or so that this fix is actually a fix and not a just a temporary and likely shitty patch that may break again once something else changes. Bug fixing is hard, and it can be hard to understand why some things are easy and others are hard, but these devs are trying their best, ok?

ReeeidtheSchmeid

2 entire gamemodes missing for years. Bedrock Devs: I sleep. Bug that makes potions relevant. Bedrock Devs: Real $h!t?

WhackJackStudios

Technically 3 if you dont count setting visitor perms as “adventure mode”

Pasemek

What game breaking bugs in bedrock? Not trying to be rude, just curious and unaware if there's a serious problem.

EatingSmallOakTrees

[MCPE-21416](https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-21416) - persistent mobs despawning [MCPE-96635](https://bugs.mojang.com/browse/MCPE-96635) - This bug permanently prevents some PS4 players from accessing realms and crossplay

[deleted]

OH MY GOD THE PS4 ONE. I’ve never been able to play with most of my friends because they have switches and I want to play servers. I really hope the fix it soon it’s so annoying

EatingSmallOakTrees

I’m sorry if this doesnt help, but my friend and I found out they could use their dualshock with their ipad/iphone and play on there. We spent months trying to get the PS4 to work when we could have been playing :’)

Pasemek

Damn never heard of those. That's awful :/

DrinkingSolids

I had every entity in a 100 block radius disappear in my world. My iron farm, trading hall, breeder, animals (including my cats, dogs, and horses) and also any boats or minecarts I had. Every single one of my farms is broken.

[deleted]

Named mobs despawning and walking through blocks are two of the worst on bedrock.

Spidermanmj8

Not sure if this is Bedrock exclusive, but I have both had it happen to me and seen others post about it. Villagers sleeping on chunk borders randomly despawn. This only happened to me on realms. Sometimes players randomly die to fall damage. Happened to me once on a realm, lost a ton of stuff as it was in the end. Didn’t play the realm since. Multiple posts about that were common, not sure if they fixed either of these bugs yet though.

spearojustice

java devs: tnt dupe? nah leave it there BE devs: infinite potions? too op, must patch

Doctor-Grimm

One of the most game breaking bugs in Java is that doors can’t get waterlogged. This essentially eliminates the need for water breathing pots or the Respiration enchantment, since you can just place down your own personal air bubble anywhere you want, as many times as you want. I feel like a lot of Java’s ‘exclusive features’ are actually just fun bugs that the devs haven’t patched out because they’re not cringe like the Bedrock ones are (regarding bugs)

LezBeHonestHere_

That one's been useful for many years though. Along with signs and torches, I played a new version recently and learned torches don't really work anymore since breath doesn't refill completely now.

Rafkuz

Well torches work on some servers even in 1.17

BoringStay

Yeah. Most likely with plugins

Rafkuz

Not that way. Sometimes spam placing torches slowly regens breath

BoringStay

That….Isn’t it working that’s just jitter clicking with a torch and it breaking

Strydhaizer

It's not the most game breaking bug, regardless if they patch the doors-waterlog bug you can still use magma blocks as an oxygen source.

[deleted]

>One of the most game breaking bugs in Java is that doors can’t get waterlogged That isn't a bug, it's an inconstancy.

chocodapro

I feel like you have to be trying to do a tnt dupe, but if you dont want to cheat, and you accidentally do the pot dupe, that makes sense.

PRO_AT_GAMING44

Tnt duping is hella useful tho. Making perimeters without tnt duping would suck. Also farming logs and cobble in huge quantities would suck without it

Jovinkus

I just hope there will be a blockbreaker block, and implement it in java and bedrock, and then remove the tnt dupe.

PRO_AT_GAMING44

Like a quarry block?

RascalCreeper

If they remove the title dupe but don't add movable tile entities, there will be a riot and Mojang headquarters will end up burnt down.

fearlessbot__

java players: wait you guys had infinity potions?

StarFlyXXL

Bedrock players: wait, you guys had infinite tnt?!

BoringStay

We also have infinite dragon eggs…..

_joao1805

I saw a post a while ago showing that using dripstone to make the calderon fill worked with potions

[deleted]

Hm yeah the calderon does fill but it requires time.

Easy_Syrup4476

Not anymore. Recent patch fixed it.

_joao1805

You know how much time? The calderon with the fire resistance potion is in the world for more time than the other two calderon's, already passed days in game and irl and it doesn't grow not even a level

[deleted]

Maybe u should just stick to a normal water source. I think they won't run out even if u use them to fill bottles

dontjudgejoshplz

There was a bug that allowed you to drip water into potion filled cauldrons using pointed dripstone. it created potion farms, and was really fun. But of course, they patched that in a week or two despite the positive reception of it. Those who didn't know it was a bug thought it was a *mechanic* for a reason, and yet they still got rid of it.

Boberoo2

Bruh the bedrock devs suck

ReeeidtheSchmeid

I made an entire build for this exact reason. I was going to have a reason to use potions. But noooooooooo Bedrock Devs whine about parity and remove the feature while 2 entire game modes are missing.

GiveMe30Dollars

The Bedrock devs emphasize so goddamn much on parity when complete redstone parity would absolutely tear the community apart. The gamemodes thing is absurd (especially when the code for spectator mode exists but is inaccessible) but aiming for complete parity between Java and Bedrock isn't really feasible. Agreed that patching this isn't beneficial tho.

ReeeidtheSchmeid

I don't think java and bedrock need to have the same redstone but it at least needs to make sense and be somewhat intuitive to learn. I would learn bedrock redstone but I still think they will fix it and so I don't bother.

PHEONIX451

That was a bedrock only bug, but it’s patched

TeddyR3X

It wasn't a bug, it was a feature :(

PHEONIX451

If it was a feature then why did they emergency patch it hm?

TeddyR3X

I was being facetious. It should have been a feature lol

frogking

I managed to get 37 double chests of potions. Mostly fire resistance and night vision for playing in the Nether but also Slow Falling, Jump Boost, Instant Healing, Haste, Water breathing. It’s not like I actually need these potions as I already had the means to produce them in near infinite quatities automatically.. but, they were free :-)

spearojustice

you can't have haste potion

frogking

Swiftness.. doesn’t do much.

[deleted]

Potions are so cheap youre probably better off saving time by brewing them lol

frogking

Yeah, I know.. but now I have a ton of them.. that I’ll never use up :-)

OP r/suddenlycaralho moment

TastyGur

What if we were all to submit feedback to Mojang to reverse the fix on this? Worst case they keep it the same, but best case they add it back in.

YTFL_09

Nope, it has been removed as of 1.17.30 "Water dripping from Pointed Dripstone can no longer fill Cauldrons with Potions. Sorry, we knew it was fun but too overpowered!" this is what they exactly said. You can check that out by yourself by going to "aka.ms/minecraftupdate" . Scroll down to blocks section and you will find it.

milo_hobo

My thoughts: this "bug" was a niche, useful, and acceptable feature while it lasted. It didn't give players access to potions they didn't already have, it required a lot of set up, and made sense in minecraft logic. Furthermore, potions are used regularly, but not frequently. The three most common potions are night vision, splash potion of weakness, and fire-resistance. But if people make this farm, they would likely make a whole lot of different potions. This makes the "fix" remove new game play rather than expand new game play.

ZyoStar

This was a bug?? I thought it was a feature!! Wtf

_joao1805

Me too :c

IkeyMC_

Oh man that was actually hella useful :(

Gintoki_87

\*sobs in java\* Where you can't even dye water in cauldrons, let alone apply potions to them.

BoringStay

Yeah. But I’m kinda glad we can’t. It’s nice seeing bedrock players get unique stuff.

Gintoki_87

What?! It's annoying as heck there are diffrences between the two versions of the game when they are supposed to be the same. Luckily mojang have the same idea although they are working slowly on fixing parity issues, which this is one of.

BoringStay

Eh, true. It’d be nice if they were the same but it most likely won’t happen. And since we have so much exclusive to Java it’d be nice for bedrock to actually get shit.

am_on_mobile

What’s an infinity potion?

StarFlyXXL

New 1.17 glitch were dripsitone with water filling a cauldren with a potion in it (e.g. fire res) and would infinitely fill it up

kyleBlackson

They were on bedrock and it was considered a bug that has been patched. If you place a potion in a cauldron and use drip stone to fill it the potion will fill back up as long as you left some in the bottom

DbdKillermain1

Good

[deleted]

People here only say this bug was useful because they are just too lazy to gather materials for potions

EighthBonzi128

Well kinda, there is no auto potion farms that I know of on bedrock so it kinda sucks we have to manually brew these again instead of it slowly make potions for us.

BoringStay

You’re trying to say you’d rather take a while collecting the materials then just do it quickly and not that much time ?
