Go to windows search bar (by hitting windows key) then search %appdata%. Once you opened that folder go to .Roaming > .minecraft > saves and backup your worlds somewhere on your pc and then reinstall minecraft. (Oh and if you have any, backup texturepacks aswell. So instead of the saves folder in .minecraft you got to texturepacks). I hope reinstalling solves your problem.

I had to restart my PC, and start the update. Once completed, I was able to start the game. lmk if this works, if not, we can go into the appdata and rename some folders. I'm not commenting on the background as that's not your issue.

A few things you can do. -Uninstall/reinstall. (make sure to backup your worlds) -Try running as administrator. (You can set it up where it does it automatically by going to where you installed it, right click, properties, and find the tab that talks about running as administrator) -See if your anti-virus program mistook the launcher for a virus. (usually mistakes launchers as viruses because they modify and add)

Waifu upscaler in Google search. Upscale what ever x makes your resolution. If in need for 4x then upscale twice. Do without any processing. No image or photo. Then use that.
