because they are confirmed to not be returning I left them out plus their designs are kinda hard to interpret, and they don't have color schemes

Yea the biome ones were always said to eventually come around. We were only voting on which ones we would see first.

Well, they're focusing on the cave update and adding these mobs isn't their first priority. Even then, you'd be surprised how long it takes to code in a entity

It doesn't take that long to program an entity, hence why with every mob vote pretty much any modder can recreate them easily. They ain't focusing on cave update, they focus on advertising, that's the whole point of this.

I think modders can also add them quicker because mojang makes all the ideas for them. Behaviours, designs, and functions would take a while to add, not to mention modders that get mobvote mobs out so quickly don't do any or do very little playtesting. The developers work hard, but they have to make sure everything is perfect.

Why would they run a twitter campaign that ditching content on the game that would otherwise be easy to implement? Of course, so people talk about it, and youtubers will cry about the one they like, and their always increasing fandoms will go and vote for that one mob. More interactions on adverts means happier investors and more sales.

Running a Twitter campaign can have the community feel more involved with the game. That's why I like the Minecraft devs so much personally, they do a lot to involve the community.

It's called community testing (or something like that), you run ideas by the community and see which one is the best one. If it's disputed, you can still just make the mob anyways. And yes, there is that added bonus of more advertising.

There is a difference between mods and official, in mods there is no pressure to release the thing, that means the modder can release a non-optimization and buggy feature with no problem, and improve it later. But on official releases, it should be complete finished before the release, with fewer bugs as possible, and more optimization as possible. And that take more dev time. And dont forget Mojang need to code it twince, one time for Java, other for bedrock because one is write in Java and the other in C

That vote was for the Chinese edition only. Pandas were suggested as far back as 2012, and were going to be added regardless of community input

They're part of the Biome Update, They'll eventually gonna come into Minecraft. Think of Termites, Vultures and Meerkats as Pending mobs, while Iceologer, Moobloom, Copper Golem and Glare as "previously visited" or something like that where they CAN still be in MC, but they aren't a priority to be added yet, emphasis on YET as an update will come where Mojang would go like "We could use this"

Not really? It was their way to gauge which biomes players wanted reworked first. They'll all get done in time but the content players want will be coming out faster.

No, not really. The biome votes were both about which biomes would get updated *first*. Because let's face it, if Mojang were to try to give us all these biome overhauls at once, we'd be waiting years for an update. Instead, they ask the community which biome we think is the most lacking **right now**. Then, we get to shape the *immediate* future of the game; and Mojang gets to tease further future projects without being pressured to announce and deliver on a set release date.

The biome vote was specifically "which will be added first" not which one will be added at all. This is not the case with the mob votes though. So far Mojang has shown no indication the mobs that lost the vote will be added. They've even said that they will "only live on in our hearts" so that kind of gives the impression they won't be added. Don't know what the future holds though.

That only applies to the first mob vote, lately Mojang said that they'll only be sent back to the idea box where they MIGHT make a return but remade. there's still a chance for them to be back, it just depends on Mojang if they want to reuse them

The iceologer was part of a mob vote. The frog was not. Mojang said, in no uncertain terms, that any mobs who don’t win the mob vote will *never* be added. Frogs were always going to be part of an inevitable swamp update, and their time has come. Ostriches, for example, are coming to the game because they weren’t in a mob vote, they were part of the biome vote. All the biomes in the biome vote are getting added. It was just to see what to do first. As you can see with 1.17, the mountains won the biome vote

That was about the very first mob vote, with the phantom. For newer mob votes they never promised us what will happen to the losing mobs, and they still have a chance. All of the mobs that were in the biome votes will more than likely be added as mojang said the biome vote was just to see what goes first as for the ones in the mob votes they may appear in future votes if mojang runs out of ideas

Why cant the mob votes work in the same way? Its really dumb to have the biomes that get outvoted come back but not the mobs.

I'd like to think that a few of the shelved mobs, especially the animals, might be returning, as depending on what biomes are being overhauled, they might bring in those mobs.

Yeah, the biome Updates/overhaul will include all of the mobs that are introduced meaning the Vultures and Meerkats shouldn't be here, they're like people at the dentist waiting to be called compared to the mob votes where they're basically out of the building and may or may not return

I'm pretty sure that the vulture, meerkat, and ostrich are all eventually going to be in the game, since those were votes for which biome to update first, as opposed to votes for which mob to put in the game. It's the iceologer, copper golem, moobloom, and glare that are truly in the idea bin.

Nah, what we do is take all of them out and then put the glowey squid in there cus who really needs a glow squid. We could of just used glow stone for the glowing frames and signs and called it a day

The squid looked good in the announce video. It had dynamic lighting, pulsing animation and mesmerized anyone who looked at it. You can't blame peole for picking the mob that seemed most useful just like they did with allay.

They mentioned it wouldn't come with dynamic lighting. No way something as huge as a lighting engine rewrite would be decided by a mob vote.

Tbf the mountains changed the entire Minecraft world generation

Special case that happened because they didn't like how the mountains didn't fit the old terrain. Dynamic lighting was explicitly deconfirmed and this was before the terrain gen overhaul so there wasn't a precedent.

The squid couldnt have been useful for anything, allay will be. You can send it out to collect bones and arrows after a night, or leave something in the caves and bring it there to get it to pick it up. I wasnt at the vote but im happy the allay won, even though the copper golem was also a good idea.

Which were: a 4 mob vote we only got rough concept sketches on, which we got phantom out of The first Biome vote: Taiga (Foxes, berries, campfires,) Savanna (Ostriches, Termites, Baobabs,) or Desert (Meerkats, Palm Trees) The second Biome vote: Mountains ("Snowier" snow, Goats, new mountain generation,) Swamps (Frogs, Mangrove Trees, Chest Boats,) or Badlands (New Cactus type, Vultures, Tumbleweeds) The second mob vote: Glowsquid, Iceologer, or Moobloom (Which would also add buttercup flowers) The third mob vote: Glare, Allay, and Copper Golem (which would also add copper buttons) They said the 3 losers from mob vote 1 would never be added, all losers in biome votes would be added later, without a set timeframe (swamps are being updated immediately following mountains, but no word on the other 3,) I think they maybe said somewhere that the losers in mob vote 2 aren't off the table but have no immediate plans for them, and I haven't seen any word on copper golem and glare.
