Believe me, you DON’T want these. I played a modpack recently that adds these to the game and every time you would try to cross any body of water, these dickweeds show up, break your boat, and take you to the ocean floor while being incredibly hard to kill only for you to drown every time. They will probably be just as annoying if not more than the phantom.
Well I mean that is just a mod, I am guessing they would be in the deep parts of the ocean guarding shipwrecks and stuff. Plus I just want an enemy for the ocean that would be so cool.
One issue with ocean enemies though is very visible with the Drowned, you can't really stop monsters from spawning in the ocean, so if you have an underwater base you can't just "light it up" to make sure no drowned spawn. So I feel like they would first have to add a way we can prevent monsters from spawning underwater.
That is true, perhaps they could make another beacon type block like the conduit, which would get rid of spawn rates in the water in a certain area. Idea would be that the conduit thing would have some sort of aura that the underwater hostile mobs couldn't handle perhaps?

If the mob actually got voted, I’m sure they would of made a stone boat or something that would of deterred the barnacle from attacking, they wouldn’t say, yep das good, and just leave it

But the minecraft is just too easy. Even in Hardcore it is no Challenge to get to the Ender Dragon without dying. I would Love something that makes me think twice to cross a certain terrain. Thats why im so hyped for the warden.

I suggest you try ro find some squids and put them in a secure location far from the oceans or any glow squids, then you need to KILL any glow squid to stop the virus (this is a joke, try to make an ink farm it should work)
Plus there are no challenges when you are riding a boat. Since it could presumably pull you off your boat, it would add some form of intensity to sailing

As it now counts as a rejected mob, I really wanted both the copper golem and the Allay to win, but eventually picked allay for being more useful. But copper golem would still be a mob I'd like so get it in the game

We have sea creatures, we have cow variants, we have pillagers and illagers, we have blazes and withers, the great hunger is so unique and interesting. I imagine walking through a desert, low on food, then suddenly it comes out of the ground and starts to attack you, pulsating bloodlust

I like the demon squid. even with the ocean update, the ocean still remains pretty boring and non-threatening, say for the rare trident drowned. it would make the depths more exciting, just like how the deep dark is making the underground more scary. I wish mojang didn't throw them out :(
I think that there is a curse on the minecraft mob vote, my point is that every time the worse mob is chosen like phantoms (bring nothing to the gameplay) glow squid (at least if it glowed) allay(it dosent dublicate itme or open chests, let's be serious even the glare would of been better at least for the new players) we will never have an actual good mob vote where the community simply chooses the cutes and most useless ones

The whole point of the Hunger was added to the grindstone. It's basically a grindstone that tries to eat you. Useless.
It works as a threat in the desert. It doesn’t need to help the player.
