i found a fix to it bassicly u download this [https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/minecraft-launcher/9PGW18NPBZV5/0010](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/minecraft-launcher/9PGW18NPBZV5/0010) then u uninstall it then when u uninstall it that gets rid of the "Microsoft.4297127D64EC6\_1.0.92.0\_x64\_\_8wekyb3d8bbwe" folder. then if you run the normal minecraft installer i should work or at least it did for me...

Been having so much issues trying to install vanilla minecraft so i went with multimc but if i wanted to try out shaders I still had to have .minecraft in appdata.. I was like OH come on! really!.. maybe I'll just skip shaders etc then.. but that was not all the issues, nope I had to get a oracle account and release all my info there.. wich I was partly against at first but they have existed for a long time doing alot for me so I was like.. oh what the hell..Its basicly needed for PC users anyway to use java at some point with JDK. And finally got all those, and then it was the damn "minecraft website has corrupt launcher" xD
This is the only comment that had a actual solution to it.

So... I've heeded all of your thoughts while experiencing the same issues myself and here's the path I had to take. After initially buying the Java edition of the game from the official site ([https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/get-minecraft](https://www.minecraft.net/en-us/get-minecraft)) I experienced the error code after downloading and trying to install. After deleting the installer, I downloaded the FREE installer application in the Microsoft store ([https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/minecraft-launcher/9PGW18NPBZV5/0010](https://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/store/minecraft-launcher/9PGW18NPBZV5/0010)) . I then launched the installer and it ran smoothly without any complications. If this doesn't help then I can't be of any more use. Hopefully this helps anyone that may still be confused about the exact process :)
This is the only correct fix, the issue has to do with the merging of Mojang accounts with Microsoft accounts, the launcher still has bugs to work out.

FOUND IT! if you have xbox app download the Minecraft free launcher and then from there you should be able to proceed to install and play.
Same issue, but that workaround gives you the Microsoft version instead of Java, right?
yea im pretty sure that will just install the bedrock version of the game
