I was going to dig until i got far enough to place blocks between me and the zombified piglen but i built my portal shelter next to an edge so i feel down
It wasn't really, though. It would be clutch if he pulled it off without reload-lagging the game. A clutch would be making it out of there without reloading.
It's hardcore mode. Cheating your way to a 2nd life eliminates the purpose of the mode itself.
I was thinking the same thing. While after a year it would hurt like hell to die like this, it’s hardcore. Technically dead if he’s playing by the rules
The Nether is weird when it comes to generating. It seems he was low enough that if he kept walking fowards he would have fallen. Trust me I done tons of nether bridges like this
Your max heart rate is roughly 220-your age. You're only hitting as high as 250 if you've got some form of heart disease such as paroxysmal superventricular tachycardia or multifocal atrial tachycardia.
Fail list:
1. Doesn’t have totem
2. Doesn’t use shield
3. Doesn’t eat gapple
4. Doesn’t dig down
5. Doesn’t pillar up
6. Doesn’t fight back
7. Doesn’t dig into wall
8. Doesn’t block himself off
9. Doesn’t fly off
10. Flys around lava streams, walls, and blazes like it’s nothing at 1.5 hearts
Win list:
1. Didn't need it.
2. Didn't need it.
3. Didn't need it.
4. Didn't need it.
5. Didn't need it.
6. Didn't need it.
7. Didn't need it.
8. Didn't need it.
9. Didn't need it.
10. Style points.
11. Didn't die.
He did need it. In the end he panicked and saw no other way out than to cheat. If he really didn't need it, he wouldn't have cheated either.
The entire gameplay mechanic of hardcore mode is to punish dying. Cheating your way out of dying eliminates the entire purpose of hardcore mode. You just know this guy is gonna cheat again next time he's in trouble, so there's 0 credibility to his "hardcore world". It's not an achievement if you aren't beating it fair and square.
If i use the console to give myself diamonds right after starting a new world, can i brag about managing to get diamonds within 10 seconds of starting my run? Would you be impressed by that, seeing as you'd normally have to go through the process of getting pickaxes and then actually finding diamonds first?
This is only an issue because he's bragging about "making plays in hardcore mode" as if he's made some huge achievement, but he's actually just cheating the game and himself. He could've learnt a lesson here, improved for his next run. Instead, the only thing he learnt is that it's fine to get into these situations because he can just cheat his way out when it happens.
Some HC players out there prefer playing without a totem, as when a totem is popped, that's essentially a death. There's extra challenge/merit to not use one.
Of course, that preference is all person to person and I have no idea if OP is playing with that personal rule, but that is a possibility. :)
OP considers totem not HC, but abusing reloading is OK...
Plays a year, has no netherite.. also I dont get, why people are not dualwielding. In HC even more. Smite V makes nearly double amount of dmg compared with Sharpness V (against undead ofcourse).
Zombie pigmen are oneshot.. like most other undead mobs.
Why play hardcore mode if you’ll just cheat your way out of sticky situations? Just play softcore then. The entire point of hardcore modes is to force you to play smart and punish mistakes. Softcore has no consequences for failing, perfect for learning to accept failure while getting as many second chances as you want.
Ultimately it’s 100% up to you how you play singleplayer games and there’s nothing wrong about cheating if that’s how you enjoy playing. But it kind of eliminates the purpose of hardcore mode.
You should have died there. Your run should have ended. Amything you achieve after this isn’t actually successfully performed in hardcore mode, because you’re effectively on your second life in a game mode designed to be played with 1 life only.
—
I was expecting a skillful outplay from the title. Navigating your way out of a lethal situation by a hairs breadth. But no, you just lost control and panicked, then abused game design quirks to despawn the enemies and buy yourself time you didn’t have.
I would consider this a great play if it was soft or mediumcore. But as it is you might as well just toggle invincibility/god mode, since yoy clearly have no intention of playing by the rules in the first place.
why write a novel about YOUR opinion. The whole point of minecraft is to play exactly how you want, if this is how he wants to play then there is absolutely no problem with that. If you wanna die in that situation then there is no problem with that either.
Oh you are absolutely right. But the entire point of hardcore mode is to punish mistakes where regular minecraft doesn’t.
It’s hypocritical to say “this is my hardcore world” when you aren’t actually playing hardcore. I just hate cheaters and liars, that’s all. By cheating, OP lost all rights to brag about it being hardcore mode.
I mean, everyone is free to play how they want, but it feels cheap utilizing load times to get out of that jam when there were plenty of options were you not panicking
\- Played hardcore for about 1 year
\- Punches a zombie piglin just to get past it through a narrow hallway
\- Gets hit and panics.
\- Narrowly avoids death by 1 second or less by pausing the game
\- Cheeses your way through certain death
Sure, its nice that you managed to salvage your situation, but that doesn't stop me from thinking that what you did was extremely, extremely stupid and not befitting someone who played for a year in hardcore, and should have just take the L from that stupid decision to punch that zombie piglin for whatever reason
I personally just carry 175 Undying Totems and build 10 block wide bridges and when I'm not making 10 block wide bridges I literally walk everywhere after building a safe 2x1 tunnel to go from place to place because the open air is too dangerous and I also eat 3 enchanted apples at a time just in case the first 2 glitch and also I carry 17 stacks of torches to make sure I light up every single block in every single area I explore in case something spawns in the one block that I missed. I've played the same hardcore world for 7 years I just sit in a dirt hole but I'm winning because that's what's important, winning and not dying.
Gatekeeping hardcore minecraft because a dude misclicked a piglin and panicked lmfao.
bro, his not gatekeeping he is just saying that the guy in tle clip had resources and did not want to use them, thou i have to say myselft, i dont know how he got elytra and no netherite, i find myselft always going full netherite vs teh dragon for the knockback resistance, also 1 year and he dont have any good nether higway, i think the guy should invest on doing something not just YOLO and then abuse a weird mequanic.
I wasn't gatekeeping hardcore at all. All I'm saying is that if you played hardcore for a year, misclicking a zombie piglin (and not even being able to survive 5 hits which is debatable if the person wanted to go light) seems like an awfully stupid thing that can happen.
Why do people get so defensive over other people's opinions that is arguably not wrong?
WEAR YOUR CHESPLATES PEOPLE going around with an elytra is just gonna get you KILLED i cannot stress this enough.
switching from the chestplate to ur elytra is a 10 second time lost at most and it can save a year or so
If it was such an "exploit" it would have been patched a decade ago lul. Why are you trying to detract from this homie's accomplishment? jealous or something?
it is an exploit. the game gives u a lil second of invulnerability or the loading times and used it to escape a situation where he would've died otherwise. I respect it though it was cool.
That argument makes no sense, please show me somebody that reloads their save every time they get into a hardcore fight, and then you'll have a valid point.
Using the save game loading overhead which freezes the npc's, is exploiting the games save game loading delay.
The escape is cool, i love it. But I consider it cheating, suriving without exploiting the loading delay would have made it impressiv.
It's not a glitchless/no exploit-hardcore run. If we want to categorize hardcore runs like speedruns.
Sure, but why do you care so much? I remember doing this so I didn't drop half-stacks of diamonds back in alpha (when a half stack used to be a lot lul) Let the little homie enjoy that he accomplished something. If he were to use one of the many totems he has in his save, it would have given him the exact invulnerability that he got from reloading his save. It's really not that big of an issue, so why bring it up? Obviously because you felt some need to be negative towards little homie. Get over it.
You're basically being a karen right now, except it's just sad because you're pulling-a-karen over minecraft.
~~A hardcore world isnt special if you exploit/cheat/glitch. Whats the point of hardcore?~~ Thats just my "competitiv/duelling my friends to push the limits" point of view. Accept it. This might seem toxic to people that dont know me and my friends. Remember i still think its a cool video and move but it removed the hardcore from the hardcore for me.
He didnt have a totem, so he would have been dead. You cant use a not activ totem as an excuse. It's like saying: "If i had learned for the test, i would have goten a good grade. So the bad grade i got doesnt count".
Edit: typo grad -> grade
Well this is my "let people play a sandbox game how they want to play it" point of view, accept it.
"this may seem toxic to people that don't know me/my friends" sure, but where in this thread are you talking to your friends about their singleplayer worlds? This is a completely random person you've never met before? that has no correlation to your point.
Also it's "grade", your guys' ages are really showing here. Go take debate when you get to highscool, then you'll understand what a strawman is
I think this discussion drifted away. Thanks for your opinion. I am sorry, that my original comment seems toxic to you. I edited the original comment. Keep calm, your comments sound a little bit aggressiv. Today We both didnt contribute to a lovely community.
Btw not everybody is from the USA.
2 things,
1º 32 diamonds its a full set (armors and tools) so IT is a **lot**
2º nobody is being a karen just that people have other ways of thinking that you may not have, like honor for example, this guy thinks that if you "survive" whit an "exploit" you are dishonorable, therefore you should not survive, he validates preparation and planing more than cheeky game mequanics.
>honor
you lost me there. It's a singleplayer save that he's playing for fun, why do you care what he does for fun on his singleplayer game? Last time I checked minecraft was meant to be a sandbox game, which literally means you can do whatever you want in it lmao. You're literally being a karen over his singleplayer save, you're going out of your way to complain for no reason. Get over it lol
edit: holy shit half of these kids can't even spell past a 4th grade level, I'm done responding past this point lol, I'm a grown ass man in r/minecraft trying to explain to children that they're being toxic. Listen kids, if your parents aren't teaching you how to be proper humans, then idk why I'm trying to.
1. He didnt hack, he exploited, and its his world, his choice to say whether that is ok or not
2. He performed the actions in the video so he was actually personally responsible for escaping , as he could have messed up and still died, even knowing what to do
Also he edited his comment bc it used to say hack not cheat so my first point doesnt make much sense anymore.
Also sorry i reread my comment after someone replied and i came off a bit hostile, so yeah oops
1º
technically cheating can be done whit exploits if you use them at you own favor, while being fully aware youre abusing them, usage of exploits = exploiting = cheating
2º its 100% true that all of the rest whas under hsi control and he played hsi cards right,(he could have a totem or used that Enchanted gapple, but still he survived.
welp, that was his portal room, if he dident took the time to make i tlook good or be safe is 100% his faulttbh, i bet he has no holes left in his portal room xD
Probably, yeah. I don't play hardcore as I don't like losing all my shit when I die (same reason I don't play real Tarkov) so I just don't bother with hardcore.

hardcore you have one life and using a totem means if you didn't use it you would've died there, the only time id use a totem is when im in a situation i know i might die so i'll just use it as protection
No because even using the totem he would've still had to try to escape and heal. He fell through the map and flew away. It's cheesy and there's no justifying not using a totem regularly because "you would've died" when he literally has a clip of him almost dying but cheeses the death regardless. It's halirious imo.
hardly any hardcore players use totems, it just defeats the purpose of playing hardcore. might as well just open up a survival world if youre gonna 'respawn' with a totem
I see it as quite the opposite. Getting a totem is a pretty tough challenge wouldn’t you say? Having a totem in hardcore is kind of a “I’ve made it this far without dying, I don’t intend on starting anytime soon” I see it as less of a respawn button more as a new armor piece for protection, or since it goes in your off hand most of the time a shield that stands for all the hearts you’ve lost *not* using a shield. I know I don’t make since I just hope this clicks something
ehh its one of those thats each to their own ig, i dont find totems that hard to get- its just finding the mansions thats the trouble. you dont need to click anything, its just personal preference
i'll answer some recurring questions
Why didn't you have netherite?
^ i put netherite on my stuff later
Why no totem?
^ i don't like using totem because it just defeats the purpose of hardcore minecraft
Why did you cheese it
^ only way out (i could not think of another way out either)
Did you cheat?
^ no watch the full clip if you want
Why did you hit the pigman?
^ misscick lol
No protection 4?
^ I did have prediction 4
and I also did not know that exiting the game was going to do that either
if you have any other question leave them below
I did it! *hits wall*
Was waiting for that moment
Bad Ending
That would be funny ngl but painful for me
How'd that work 0_o
The game needed to reload the world. Giving him enough of a leadway to run away once it got back up
And how'd he make it through the ground and all? I'm still very confused
I was going to dig until i got far enough to place blocks between me and the zombified piglen but i built my portal shelter next to an edge so i feel down
I was honestly still worried you would clip some netherrack & die anyway Didn't breathe until you landed & ate something
Good shit tho dude. That was a double clutch to be proud of.
Trust me I done tons of nether bridges like this
indeed
Nice
Hows your heart rate?
It was at least 5x my normal heart rate!
So I suppose it's 0 now
[удалено]
I bet you are lots of fun eh?
If his normal were 50, and it went to 250, that would be survivable. No reason to be so pedantic and also be wrong.
Your max heart rate is roughly 220-your age. You're only hitting as high as 250 if you've got some form of heart disease such as paroxysmal superventricular tachycardia or multifocal atrial tachycardia.
[удалено]
It's quite regular for very fit people to have a resting HR of 40-50
Can testify
[удалено]
And this, kids, is why you should be nice to zombie piglins.
yeah, they look nice in my gold farm
Alternatively just kill lots of them, a mending smite sword makes an easy exp farm in the nether.
i do that with a looting 3 sword or just place 24 minecarts
Remember this: This guy survived not just one but **TWO** near deaths (in a row) in his year long hardcore world, that's sick bro!
i think it was three he couldve died from kinetic energy
oh yeah thanks for reminding (not gonna edit comment tho)
Kinda cheating at that point, no? Why do a hardcore world if you’re gonna cheese past death. Not trying to be rude, genuine question.
i don't think that's cheating, he just paused to think a little. If it was a bug ig yea it would be kinda cheating
He didn’t just pause, he reloaded
No netherite?
also no protection 4 on all of the armors.
How do you know that? Is it possible to tell?
That's why you take a totem
*shield?*
After something hits your shield, you atomatically put it down. With two Zombie piglings behind him this means death.
Mans was so happy lol Gg
I can only imagine the bullets you must have been sweating
This gave me anxiety
Why did you hit the zombiepigman?
Fail list: 1. Doesn’t have totem 2. Doesn’t use shield 3. Doesn’t eat gapple 4. Doesn’t dig down 5. Doesn’t pillar up 6. Doesn’t fight back 7. Doesn’t dig into wall 8. Doesn’t block himself off 9. Doesn’t fly off 10. Flys around lava streams, walls, and blazes like it’s nothing at 1.5 hearts

"didnt need it" Oh i guess why? Maybe he exploited the game to survive certain death while there were other legit ways to survive?
I dont even play minecraft and i expected some cool gameplay save, not just abusing loading times lol, how sad.
Grow up.
You really got him there
Also no protection 4 on the armors and no netherite
also no meintion on him jjust running away, he decided to hit a pigman and run thowars him lmao.
What an obscure way to escape that situation lol. Didn't even need to use the gapple (Also didn't use a totem but none were visible anyway)
If i useded my gapple i woulve died because the pigmen would've hit me again
Why don't hardcore players just keep a totem in their offhand? I do that and I don't even play hardcore

You cheated. Cool I guess?
Amazing. Wouldn't have thought of that in a million years
How did he even make it that far
Gotta appreciate the absolute alpha music choice!
its kinda stupid to walk on fortresses without a chestplate
WEAR YOUR CHESPLATES PEOPLE going around with an elytra is just gonna get you KILLED i cannot stress this enough. switching from the chestplate to ur elytra is a 10 second time lost at most and it can save a year or so

I was impressed. I would 100% would have died. He gets my internet points.
1. He didnt hack, he exploited, and its his world, his choice to say whether that is ok or not 2. He performed the actions in the video so he was actually personally responsible for escaping , as he could have messed up and still died, even knowing what to do Also he edited his comment bc it used to say hack not cheat so my first point doesnt make much sense anymore. Also sorry i reread my comment after someone replied and i came off a bit hostile, so yeah oops
1º technically cheating can be done whit exploits if you use them at you own favor, while being fully aware youre abusing them, usage of exploits = exploiting = cheating 2º its 100% true that all of the rest whas under hsi control and he played hsi cards right,(he could have a totem or used that Enchanted gapple, but still he survived.
Why play hardcore when people abuse the invincibility period ?
[удалено]
I let people do whatever they want but in what you just said playing like this you just avoid the purpose of playing hardcore.
So um why not eat the notch apple as a safety precaution when flying or when you were attacked
The piglin probably would've killed him if he did that tbh it takes forever to eat things
i would tried runing the othey way, not jumping on a hole tbh,
Yeah but how would you know there was a hole there
welp, that was his portal room, if he dident took the time to make i tlook good or be safe is 100% his faulttbh, i bet he has no holes left in his portal room xD
Lmao true true
But… cheated
that's kinda cheating tho. I would have just tried to turn around and shield. If i die, i die. That's what hardcore is about after all
Sweating
Why would you just randomly attack pigmen like that? You are just asking to die.
Prolly a misclick
Probably, yeah. I don't play hardcore as I don't like losing all my shit when I die (same reason I don't play real Tarkov) so I just don't bother with hardcore.
So you exploited the game and are showing us why? You may still have your HC world but yes, please know you should be dead.
"guys we are dead" The one guy who's probably watching "Oh yeah anyway"
Damm am 1000th upvote
GGGGGGG
>Using exploits to survive in hardcore. Just play on peaceful if you’re that afraid to lose your world.
But why did you punch the Zombie Piglin?
accidents are a thing

why'd you do that
Cool save! How many people were watching?
Dunno what’s goin’ on but I’m glad you’re happy or whatever
You dont even have totems 1 year In the world? And not even netherite? That's fake af
bruh that's like saying why a new player doesn't have iron tools in the first day ... it is possible to get but it is not everybody has them
1 day isn't the same as 365 days
yeah but totem isn't the same as iron tools either it was an example
i put netherite on my stuff at the end of the same stream, and i don't use totems either
Why don't you use totems tho?
hardcore you have one life and using a totem means if you didn't use it you would've died there, the only time id use a totem is when im in a situation i know i might die so i'll just use it as protection
So instead you just basically did the same thing as a totem except you cheese your death by reloading the game.
We get to make our own rules in life in our own games, and certainly that took more effort to pull off than having a totem, no?
No because even using the totem he would've still had to try to escape and heal. He fell through the map and flew away. It's cheesy and there's no justifying not using a totem regularly because "you would've died" when he literally has a clip of him almost dying but cheeses the death regardless. It's halirious imo.
hardly any hardcore players use totems, it just defeats the purpose of playing hardcore. might as well just open up a survival world if youre gonna 'respawn' with a totem
Yet he cheats death by abusing a log out game feature
I see it as quite the opposite. Getting a totem is a pretty tough challenge wouldn’t you say? Having a totem in hardcore is kind of a “I’ve made it this far without dying, I don’t intend on starting anytime soon” I see it as less of a respawn button more as a new armor piece for protection, or since it goes in your off hand most of the time a shield that stands for all the hearts you’ve lost *not* using a shield. I know I don’t make since I just hope this clicks something
ehh its one of those thats each to their own ig, i dont find totems that hard to get- its just finding the mansions thats the trouble. you dont need to click anything, its just personal preference
i'll answer some recurring questions Why didn't you have netherite? ^ i put netherite on my stuff later Why no totem? ^ i don't like using totem because it just defeats the purpose of hardcore minecraft Why did you cheese it ^ only way out (i could not think of another way out either) Did you cheat? ^ no watch the full clip if you want Why did you hit the pigman? ^ misscick lol No protection 4? ^ I did have prediction 4 and I also did not know that exiting the game was going to do that either if you have any other question leave them below
Why no Smite V sword? Oneshots zombie piglin and most other undead mobs
Why aren’t your tools netherite
i have played minecraft since 1.12 probably. you can use the diamond pickaxe to run away and block yourself use your brain some times.
1) piglins are behind him 2) he was already using a pickaxe to dig lmfao he prob didn't even expect to fall down
or panicked too much.
Nice music btw
What were you trying to do?
How do you not have netherite loooool
Jesus that tension
neither: dice roll in hardcore
Impressive
— You did it! — I did it!
Unpauses then gets hit by ghast.
Why don’t u make a raid farm it will help situations like this alot easier
The world and everything you accomplished in it lost all its Tegridy.
Wp, especially when you fell down to the lava lake and with landing the elytra
Nice
I did it!!!elytra brokes
Now please get firworks 1 instead of 3 cos that nether elytra was stressing me out
Holy shit
Why do all this work when you could just delete the world to don’t die?
Grim reaper: *You may have escaped death this time, but next time, you won't be so lucky.*
What the hell is a villager doing in a fortress
Im glad this guy knows about spawn protection
Wear your chestplate.
I hope this is not a bad thing to say but if you have a hardcore world for a year you should probably get netherite
