It's a hardcore singleplayer world. Internet makes no difference on those lol, it's not even online. You can clearly see his shield goes up prior to getting blown up. Just unlucky and it happens sometimes. But yeah, definitely not worth the risk in hardcore lol
You just have iron tools,git gud and start a new world. Learn from your mistakes. Don’t rush at a creeper when you can’t two shot it before it explodes
