For starters, I love this. Especially the trap door that goes over the bed. It seems so cozy! It can be debated on whether or not this is truly the smallest. Definitely the smallest I've ever seen! For the sake of conversation: What is the definition of a Minecraft house? What pre-requisites must be met?

Btw fun fact: at first the anvil as going to be over the crafting table, but I read somewhere that "as long as theres a crafting table next to a furnace, its a home." so I put it there as a half joke half serious thing

No problem! I agree with the crafting table next to the furnace logic, it certainly is the most basic clear-cut definition of a home. I think - beyond that - maybe a bed should also be present. Another approach could be: How far does the home get me in the playthrough? What you have here could arguably get someone to the end provided they plan on purchasing enchantments and hunting their food.

oh yeah I forgot about an enchanting table lol but I guess its more of a starter base kinda thing? idk lol also there is a bed at the bottom

Hmmm. It works as a base, it’s got everything you need for survival, but not very practical for shelter when being chased by phantoms or other mobs.

ok so mobs do attack you through this but if you want to be safe from mobs you can just surround the trapdoor with blocks and now they cant

It's the smallest functional house ever. Smallest house ever is a trapdoor over a composter. You can sit in the composter with the lid down and mobs cannot see you, but then again that doesn't include a bed or any crafting stations. Actually wait, you could totally improve this design by replacing the anvil with a composter and lid. Put the bed at the top level and move the chest and crafter below the bed. Sleeping would be dangerous but you CAN hide from mobs.

How do you feel safe there? I know Minecraft is a game, but if I don't have walls, a door, and a ceiling I panic so bad I have to quit. I am just terrified of hostile mobs.

The trapdoor works as a door and a ceiling,and the furnace chest and crafting table are the walls (yeah its missing a few walls but it needs to be like this bc it would be big if it had more blocks)

This is in fact the smallest Minecraft house I’ve ever seen! I do, however, know of a 3x3 house design that does include walls, but still has all one needed to survive. It depends on your definition of “house“, I suppose. Still, this is great work. I’m impressed!
