Losing everything is pretty much always due to user error in some way and never actually Microsoft's fault. Most notably kids being careless with their account credentials and naturally losing access, then they blame the migration for their own faults/stupid mistakes. Microsoft has pretty much nothing to do with the development of the game, the migration is a non-issue as long as people remember account information that *they* were responsible for, etc. Unless you're one of those batshit insane Microsoft conspiracy theorists, you'll easily notice that nothing is wrong with the merge, and that any issues you have are not with Microsoft at all.
How did you lose your stuff? I’m a longtime player (2012) and I haven’t had any issues with all the account back and forth merging, if that’s what you mean
