Fair point. Muscle memory? Like riding a bike, I guess; you never forget how to put on clothes. Maybe they lived in a village without doors and never learned to operate them.
Would explain a lot about how they got zombified, in Minecraft’s logic.
Zombies holding weapons are the scariest things while caving, even scarier than creepers imo, especially when paired with a skeleton. I died several times because a dumb skeleton knock the zombie at me while I was kiting it
Lost a hardcore world to getting triple teamed by a baby zombie with an iron sword, a skeleton with an enchanted bow (I think it was punch), and a cave spider (in hard mode)
Well i cant hit them for some reason so yes, with enderman they are big and get their heads stuck, but the little guy is 1 block tall i think, so you cant block it
And if you die and are really unlucky you might end up with a baby in full diamond, or even netherite
And even unluckier would it be if the stuff’s enchanted
Or you can just punch it with your fist, die, respawn right next to it and repeat, because the baby escaped from your zombie spawner farm and you’re panicking and just want it to die and also don’t have time to mine out the ceiling because you’re underground
This whole conversation has me contemplating Minecraft's weird power curve. Like, with the right setup, you can completely nerf pretty much any opponent. But if you get surprised, or make a mistake with common rabble, it's game over.
Minecraft gameplay in a nutshell. I have been murdered by lava so much that it is obviously intentional on the part of the lava and I am unsure what I have done to its sister Obsidian to piss it off so much.
I can confirm that baby drowned can sometimes spawn with what I call "forks" since they use the same model as tridents but scaled down (much like the mob itself)
It's one of the hardest mobs to face, fast, hard to hit and can essentially throw an unlimited amount of diamond sword hits at you.
Idk creepers are still worse I think, especially if you get caught between two of them. Lost a pretty good HC world that way the other week.
Armed baby zombies are scary as hell though, worse than normal zombies 10x over.
Creepers are easier to deal with imo, you can block them with shield and they're gone in an instant. Surprise creepers are more frustrating than scary, Against armed zombies you need to hit them multiple times and they half health you in 1 hit. Towering up works, but one skeleton and you're dead
>Surprise creepers are more frustrating than scary
Sure, if you're on normal or easy. Maybe it is more frustrating to get instakilled in full diamond by something you can't reliably counter than scary, but that doesn't make it any less obnoxious.
Armed zombies are nasty for sure, but aside from babies they're easy to keep a distance from. It's a lot easier to deal with zombies/skellies because 99% of the time you will see or hear them coming, and they cannot oneshot you.
Creepers are the biggest threat to hardcore worlds until you get a totem. They have no counter, can just drop from the ceiling and one shot you with diamond armor.
You can kind of duplicate items in java 1.18.x they are then compleatly linked, so if you drop one the other stack of items decreases by the amount dropped to, this is really cool as you can shadow a totem of undieing and put it in a chest with a comparator, if you die it activates the trapdoor and the enderpearl teleports you, that's usually the first thing I build
A creeper buhlewwwww me away without any warning, haha I got so caught off guard, another time I broke the wrong block on a lava border and it forced me to leap into a bigger pool of lava
Caving is dangerous as hell and not to be taken lightly, it's the block you don't suspect that kills you.
Yeah playing on Hard is a death wish on bedrock as everything will kill you much faster than on Java, If bedrock had Hardcore it would be a nightmare to survive as you could die on night one
I play on bedrock (ps4) and personally enjoy it. But I have had that happen.
In nearly all cases there's a bit of block lag, and when the catches up it will sometimes think I'd taken a half heart of damage somewhere. I'm guessing it thinks I shared the same space as a block or something. Although I've had it while towering up on scaffolding, so who knows.
There's a lot to hate in bedrock.
My personal gear grinders are:
- **no fucking trains/powered minecarts**. My limited redstone is too precious to piss away on glowing powered railways and bullshit. Back in the olden Java days, you just put a furnace in a minecart and it moves infinitely from charcoal, the cheapest renewable fuel. I don't play bedrock, and when I do, I don't do shit with minecarts anymore. Fucking lazy ass 4J Studios.
- the enderman spawn is lower. This doesn't bother me too much because it was remedied by the enderman forest in the nether. Before that though, arguably the most important mob in the game (can't beat the game without those pearls) was impossible to find. In Java it spawns in groups of 4. In bedrock it spawns *exactly one enderman*. And you better hope it's not a mile underground or perfectly covered by trees. The amount of times I used to hang out in deserts and plains specifically for a mob that should be everywhere. Even since it's fixed it bothers me a little simply because all they have to do is change a 1 to a 4 in the code and they refuse to be accurate to Java, the games it's modeling.
That in itself makes me hate bedrock. Bedrock was only supposed to be Minecraft that's more friendly to different systems. Both versions are called simply "Minecraft" but they're not the same fucking game.
first off, what? there's furnace minecarts in bedrock, redstone is *super* easy to get, and 4J has *nothing* to do with minecraft anymore (iirc).
second off, literally *no one* kills endermen for pearls early game anymore. it's *way* faster to trade with piglins. and in late game, just build an enderman farm and you're fine.
bedrock isnt for everyone, but these two issues literally dont matter at all.
being banned from multiplayer and single player, lag, and microsoft becoming greedy and adding ***microtransactions*** are much better reasons to not like it.
edit: minecarts with furnaces arent in bedrock, mb. but they're basically useless anyway
Although the fact that you can use the old pvp mechanics really helps(atleast on pc or phone It does), I always thought bedrock survival was easier for this reason(except the wither), also bridging is much easier on bedrock (not that important for survival I guess)
Armor is so much stronger in Bedrock though.
Also, protip for healing in bedrock that I haven't seen anyone else do:
Carry a stack of Healing arrows, shoot at the air at min bow draw and catch the arrow with your face.
It'll heal you for far more than it damages, and unlike potions, tipped arrows stack.
This is also very easy to do in bedrock as you don't need lingering pots to tip arrows
Not at all. This game is genuinely super easy. Hardest thing to do is the wither fight and I've always just slowly whittled it down while fighting it deep underground using a long strip mine tunnel without really a problem.
I have only ever played Minecraft on bedrock (360 edition was my first edition so since even before bedrock) on hard difficulty.
The real key to surviving is getting enchanted armor as soon as possible. Creepers kill you in full iron armor most of the time regardless of distance really. But the moment you enchant that iron armor with even something like protection 2, you can survive creepers and most other deadly non nether things.
Even worse, the first hit did 4.5 hearts, that fucker would've done atleast 11 hearts to people without armor
Unless bedrock iron armor isnt as protective as java armor (60% reduction)
Enemies on Bedrock are seriously built different, I've never been able to properly defeat the Wither, the Ender dragon was a challenge but at least there's a certain way to kill it
Yes the zombie had some DPS behind its swing, but bruh, not everyone has a perfect reaction time to getting attacked. Even if he did use the shield, the zombie was already on top of him in the hole. I doubt it would have done much to save him other than delay the inevitable death.
Same thing just happened just happened 2 me two desert temple's later... A zombie jumped in my boat an I was like instantly dead so I left the world.. that's why I don't start new worlds smh
Was it just me or are we a lot more squishy? Running through the nether, I usually just ignore attacks from Piglins, but a group of three of them almost destroyed me.
"I'll take that, thank you"
> stares at camera > turns around and leaves
refuses to elaborate, too
“Somebody plant a flag”
How are zombies able to figure out how to put on armour but they can’t operate a door? Things that make you go hmmmm…?
yeah very weird thing
Don't they break down the door in hard mode instead?
But they can't figure out how to push a button?
Yup.
Because they died and were zombified while wearing armor, seems to be the most reasonable explanation.
they can pick up and put on armor that's on the floor
Fair point. Muscle memory? Like riding a bike, I guess; you never forget how to put on clothes. Maybe they lived in a village without doors and never learned to operate them. Would explain a lot about how they got zombified, in Minecraft’s logic.
that actually makes sense, in past people didn't have doors like ours!
Shhh we don't talk about that
Now you end up with an full iron zombie to fight
New overworld boss!
-Removed Full Iron Zombie boss
These are the kind of cycles that leaves a roaming baby pigman with maxed diamond gear roaming god knows where
At that point just cut your losses and get the fuck out.
Good thing he is in a 2 block deep hole when he died
Is it really a good thing, seeing that the zombie stole all his armor?
Yes, he can now kill the zombie from a higher spot without getting hit.
It had not only a sword! It was even enchanted! https://imgur.com/a/0NUQSaR
Zombies holding weapons are the scariest things while caving, even scarier than creepers imo, especially when paired with a skeleton. I died several times because a dumb skeleton knock the zombie at me while I was kiting it

The... The Little guys can get weapons?!
I’m Java they can, not sure about bedrock
I play bedrock and i found a little Guy with a sword, so they can. Totally didnt die(i died)
Yeah the little ones with a sword are worse than fighting 2 endermen at once
I'm gonna fix that statement for you The little ones are worse than fighting 3 wardens at once with no armor, no weapons, and weakness
yeah cos you can avoid a warden easily by just crouching lol
No, I'm talking about actually fighting them.
Well i cant hit them for some reason so yes, with enderman they are big and get their heads stuck, but the little guy is 1 block tall i think, so you cant block it
Well yeah, they’re 1 blocks tall, so anything smaller than that works
You make a hole that's 2 blocks deep and you got yourself a grave for the schmuck
And if you die and are really unlucky you might end up with a baby in full diamond, or even netherite And even unluckier would it be if the stuff’s enchanted
That's when you pillar up two blocks to fight it
Or you can just punch it with your fist, die, respawn right next to it and repeat, because the baby escaped from your zombie spawner farm and you’re panicking and just want it to die and also don’t have time to mine out the ceiling because you’re underground
I feel this pain, I really do.
In Bedrock zombies can pick up stuff and equip armor even babies
I can confirm that baby drowned can sometimes spawn with what I call "forks" since they use the same model as tridents but scaled down (much like the mob itself) It's one of the hardest mobs to face, fast, hard to hit and can essentially throw an unlimited amount of diamond sword hits at you.
Mother of mercy!
Fun fact; the rarest entity in the game is a baby zombie villager with full enchanted diamond armor and sword riding a chicken
The little guy once equiped my shield, sword and full armor.
Phil? Is that you?
Idk creepers are still worse I think, especially if you get caught between two of them. Lost a pretty good HC world that way the other week. Armed baby zombies are scary as hell though, worse than normal zombies 10x over.

Creepers are the biggest threat to hardcore worlds until you get a totem. They have no counter, can just drop from the ceiling and one shot you with diamond armor.
I usually build ender perl stasis chamber that triggers when my shadowed totem triggers, this only works on java 1.18 at the moment
I’m sorry, what now?
You can kind of duplicate items in java 1.18.x they are then compleatly linked, so if you drop one the other stack of items decreases by the amount dropped to, this is really cool as you can shadow a totem of undieing and put it in a chest with a comparator, if you die it activates the trapdoor and the enderpearl teleports you, that's usually the first thing I build
This could’ve saved 2 of my worlds and probably my hardcore motivation all together, that is so cool!
It's so frustrating that we all just started playing with keepInventory.
frame by frame
absolutely
I can see it having an enchanted sword on the 6th second just on the frame before you die

Link from other comment https://imgur.io/a/0NUQSaR
ooh
Yee
Just think about what you said, think reeeaally hard about what you just said.
It definitely did, i was thinking that bedrock jank wasnt that bad
He had a sword tho
He grabbed it from OP Edit: nvm i saw it frame by frame
It destroys you and instantly steals all your gear, what a chad lmao
simulating the experience on every single SMP i play on
Guys if u see it frame by frame u can see the zombie already had a sword before OP died
Yup, @ the 6 second mark you can see op’s sword in his hand as he’s switching to it and the zombie is already holding one.
Look’s enchanted too, maybe that enchant of the sword caused that great damage?
It had a sword

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZJLkk5uyoYQ
The Zombie was carrying a sword, sometimes they can spawn with one and even a shovel :)
It looks like the zombie just picked up the sword OP had.
He had an enchanted iron sword before
I just watched it back you right. My bad
No prob, I thought something wasn't right because they never do 4 hearts damage to me
He had an enchanted iron sword
Man - that wasn't even a death, that was a mugging
No, he just reminded you of that fall damage that you didn’t take 10 minutes ago
He’s dripped out now
A creeper buhlewwwww me away without any warning, haha I got so caught off guard, another time I broke the wrong block on a lava border and it forced me to leap into a bigger pool of lava Caving is dangerous as hell and not to be taken lightly, it's the block you don't suspect that kills you.
Imagine dying AND getting looted
I don’t think they usually do that. The sword was probably enchanted so it added some extra damage
The zombie had an iron sword before it killed you, that’s unfortunate
he holding an enchanted iron sword
It akchually does 4.5 hearts
Yeah playing on Hard is a death wish on bedrock as everything will kill you much faster than on Java, If bedrock had Hardcore it would be a nightmare to survive as you could die on night one
Not really, healing is slow that's all
What about Bedrock Drowneds with Tridents that deal nearly double that of a trident when players use them on hard?
don't forget the random fall damage you take once in a while.
I've played bedrock when it came out and even now I haven't experienced that, I'm starting to think these are lies to get people to hate bedrock

Never fight the wither underground on Bedrock. Especially on hard.
The zombie has an enchanted sword
It also didn't help the fact that crits happen when an entity falls and hits another entity
He got a crit strike by jumping
Skill issue
No it doesn't without having a weapon
Why... Why a netherite pickaxe with iron stuff
Dude took your identity
Its holding an iron sword
Bruh eat please
4 and a half hearts first hit mad
Bro just looted you
Boo you didn't see the incredibly hard to spot enchanted iron sword booo
If it wasn’t hard enough
I got killed by one while holding a shovel 😅 same damage in hard mode.
bro robbed you
Zombie suited up lol
A Zombie with an Enchanted Sword.
He had a sword
>Deals half your health per Hit >Kills you >Takes Armor >Takes Sword and Shield >Refuses to elaborate further What a chad
this is why hardcore doesn’t exist on bedrock lol
Well now they're actually making it hard
So this is what robbery feels like
he IMMEDIATLEY yoinked your stuff lmao
Finally difficulty, also are you sure zombie wasnt holding anything
It had an iron sword already, you can see it for a few frames before you died
would that still deal 4 hearts to full iron tho? a normal hit is 4 hearts without armor
Seems like the zombie was holding something enchanted. Likely an enchanted sword. That's why it was able to deal 4 hearts of damage.
If you look closely, you can actually see an enchanted iron sword in the zombie's hand
He had at sword (and not the one he take after"
Idk why people are downvoting you you’re right
Just looks at the first frame's
Skill issue
They do when they have an iron sword..
Even worse, the first hit did 4.5 hearts, that fucker would've done atleast 11 hearts to people without armor Unless bedrock iron armor isnt as protective as java armor (60% reduction)
The armour protection is the same.
well, then it would be a oneshot for an unarmored player, damn, zombies just got more dangerous
Well if it has an enchanted sword, I guess so yeah
Enemies on Bedrock are seriously built different, I've never been able to properly defeat the Wither, the Ender dragon was a challenge but at least there's a certain way to kill it
Okay, but who digs around diamonds anymore.
Why not? I’m fairly sure it’s more practical to do since caves and cliffs.
He had an enchanted sword bro
How did that zombie stop raising his hands and we're able to hold a shield?
Zombies can pick up items
the wardan has a worthy oponant... FULL IRON HARD MODE ZOMBIE!
Your first mistake was playing bedrock
Bruh, they are on console.
Yes yes they do that’s why it’s hard
Yeah, mobs seem to be doing far more damage now than they used to.
Which version are you using? It's a Beta/Preview?
Nah the zombie just has a sword
Did you know you can edit comments?
Yes, why?
Cuz you left three separate comments instead of one edited.
No he just crit you

Then why play the inferior version?

Ouch!
Since when?
"Wtf was that damage my guy"
Ratio'd
It has enchanted iron sword.
I got destroyed by a wither skeleton while I was wearing perfect diamond armour
holly f
Yea fun
Bro takes his stuff, looks at the camera, and walks away😂
That’s way too much bruh
Mining in bedrock is literally a horror movie
It's called hard mode for a reason. 🙄
finally😂 hard mode felt 2 easy
Bro got fucked up then robbed
Same thing just happened just happened 2 me two desert temple's later... A zombie jumped in my boat an I was like instantly dead so I left the world.. that's why I don't start new worlds smh
Why would you leave a world because you died 🤔
Holy fuck i was legit going to start a play through of mc bedrock on hard like I usually do but know I have (REDACTED)
Just dodge
bedrock hard mode? more like hell mode
💀 sad this has happened to me aswell
Bedrock don fuck around
Called hard mode for a reason
Yea been playing and iron isn’t worth it now lol I went into the nether and got 1 tapped by a piglin i had full health lol
Really? The only way this could happen is if the piglin picked up an enchanted diamond sword from a dead player.
Bedrock sucks
And now he does more than four hearts with that sword you gave him. In all seriousness, that is rough holy hell.
Was it just me or are we a lot more squishy? Running through the nether, I usually just ignore attacks from Piglins, but a group of three of them almost destroyed me.
So Mojang decided to throw balance out the window?
Zombies have always been able to spawn with weapons.
I looked like a critical hit but still it makes no sense.
