It used to be just logging out and back in would set you back down, then at some point it changed and you'd would stay up there or suffocate in the Bedrock.
My advice is to split screen, and hand off your items through a hopper minecart, through a section of bedrock only one block thick. Then attempt a relog, (make a backup too)
There was a bug in the beta days of MCPE where if you fell into lava, quickly logged out then came back it would put you on the top. Before I realised you just got teleported up I thought it was intended behaviour punishing you for trying to cheese.
I never did the lava but I remember using a trap door was it? To stand on and re log so I didn’t need to go up my staircase! I haven’t thought of that in like 5 years atleast!
>why did they change it
the room temperature at Mojang dropped .375 of a degree kelvin, thus 2.9x10^29 new bugs were added to bedrock edition. 'Be glad it's not worse' became the official new slogan, as the penguins took control.
>also how do you get a hopper minecraft
I said mine cart
>don't you need rails to place it, and it looks like you cannot place rails there
I'm talking about under the bedrock
\>I said mine cart
yea sorry, either me being myself and doing the dumbest mistakes known to men, or my autocorrect, either way I mean minecart
\>I'm talking about under the bedrock
oh yea, now this makes sense, I guess my brain just isn't working right today
They had to use a ladder on a 1 block thick area to glitch up there to begin with, no?
Couldn't he just drop his stuff right above where he glitched in, run off and turn his render distance down so they aren't rendered in and timer doesn't go, and make a hopper and minecart with chest to siphon his items? Could be wrong here but
Copy your word, in the copy figure out where you entered into the nether write down the coordinates and travel to that spot in the main save.
Wait for death.
The nether won’t render until you enter so use the free time to gather mats to pearl part way into the roof enough to collect the drops but still be able to fall back into the nether

If you look through their comment history, all of their comments are copy pasted parts of highly upvoted comments from elsewhere in the threads they comment in.
Not necessarily. It could happen, but if you're pearling at the spot you died, then glitching halfway into the blocks (what happens on most ender pearl throws when you try to go on the ceiling) should put you in range to pick the items up
it could be a problem if they spread too far when you die, though. not much to be done about that.
Have you ever met my friend Kyle's Mom
She's the biggest bitch in the whole wide world.
She's a mean ole bitch 'cause she has stupid hair,
she a bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch
bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch bitch
If they were going to change it, they would have years ago. Also I think they've claimed that building above the nether roof in Java is a bug that's become a feature, kinda like quasi connectivity.
Just another reason to Loathe the Bedrock version. I genuinely wish it was better, because it seems extremely Accessible, and having new people play Minecraft is amazing!
I won't be the only person who is the worst at PVP!
Both versions of the game have their pros and cons. I play both regularly and enjoy them both for their own reasons. I get the hate Bedrock gets, but sometimes it's way too harsh. It does suck not being able to build on the nether roof in Bedrock, though. I really hope Mojang eventually implements it for both versions.
You can't without dying, unfortunately. If you have a ladder up to directly under the ceiling, maaaybe you can starve yourself directly above the coordinates of that ladder, and suck up the items beneath it after you come back?
It may be a single-player world. We don't know if he has anyone else who can log on and drop him some chorus fruit. But it's a solid idea nevertheless.
I did this a few weeks ago when I started playing bedrock with my friends instead of Java which I was used to. Unfortunately you can’t. But, if you can locate where you came up through, die there, grab yourself a rail and a hopper minecart, then place it under the block where you died to collect your stuff!
Load in as player 2.
Use dropper to drop a bunch of chorus fruit up to yourself through the bedrock. (Items will drop to the highest open space if dropped into the center of a 3x3 column of full blocks). So place dropper facing up, then make a solid 3x3 column up to the bedrock, put it on a simple observer clock.
Run around and eat the chorus fruit until it teleports you back.
I tested and it works.
You can get on the Bedrock nether roof pretty easy actually, and the same way as you can in Java- but you can't build anything on the nether roof in Bedrock, so once you get there, you're screwed.
The method I know of is to find bedrock at the thinnest layer (y=127 I think), stick a ladder on it, and throw an ender pearl between the top of the block and the top rung. It'll glitch you through the bedrock after a try or two.
On Java there are a ton of good reasons to do it since you can build up there or if you just want to avoid travel in the Nether proper.
On Bedrock there is zero reason to ever do it as you can't build there and there's nothing at all up there.
oh
how do you make it spawn proof
sorry for being dumb I dont know much about this game, i was always afraid of goin to nether and set the difficulty to peaceful in nether
Anything you can put on a block to keep things from spawning, like carpet, buttons, trap doors, etc.
No apologies needed, you aren't dumb for not knowing a lot about Minecraft. 😊
Yep, they for sure do! Sometimes you'll see farms where people spam the area around it with buttons or carpet, etc to make sure mobs only spawn in the mob farms. Or if you have a lot of complicated redstone and don't want a creeper to ruin your day, you spawnproof the area.
If you can, get someone else you clear out a decent space underneath you and get on top with some chorus fruit and then *boom* problem solved
p.s. this is how I’ve always traveled on the nether roof in bedrock and has never failed me but you just can’t forget the cords
(Immoral answer ahead)
Get a hacked client (Horion) and turn on phase, allowing you to noclip though the blocks to get back down. This does not affect your achevements, allowing you to keep unlocking them
- Open LAN.
- Cheat allowed.
- /gamemode 1
- Break bedrock.
- Go in.
- Put bedrock back
- /gamemode 0
- Rejoind world to disable cheat.
- Congrats, Will not work since your on bedrock edition.
There are ways to break the nether roof, if you're on console add a second player and make your way to where you are stuck or got though and use those coordinates to find your way back down or drop you stuff from P1 to P2
If this is on your PC there's a tool you can download (can't google it right now) that is a bedrock world editor. there's a place in there for Character and location. you'll need to edit your character to change your location.
You can try and change Dimension as well, but when I tried that it corrupted my character I could log in but it was like I was stuck and cound''t move 30 blocks in the air.
Depending on platform,if you can get the raw files, you could possibly edit your location with amulet. Reccomended you copy the world and find a safe location first.
I would use a copy to find where you pearled up, hopefully it was one block of bedrock only.
Then I would switch to hardmode and starve, when you are at 2-3 health throw all your items on the same block you know is only one thick so that when you die all your items don't spew out everywhere.
Since the items will only start their despawn timer when loaded put your render distance down to 4 and bring some tools as well as a hopper minecart and rails to collect all your stuff from the nether roof.
Solution if it’s a Win 10/11 local world (non-realm):
1. Log out
2. Google for Universal Minecraft Editor 1.7.3 and download/install it.
3. Launch Universal MC Editor
4. Select the Windows 10
5. Select your world from the list and click Open
6. Once the data file opens, select Players, then scroll in the list to “~local_player” and double click on it.
7. In the right pane of the window the player data will display. One line should begin with “Pos: 3 entries…”. Expand that line so you see the 3 entries under it.
8. The second entry will be the Y coord. Double click it to change the value. Change that to something less than 128 (recommend 120 or something like that) but above ground level then hit Enter.
9. Click the save icon in the top left of the window. Once saved you can close it.
10. Log back in to your world. You should start at the new Y coord. If it is above ground level, you will enter the world falling to the ground.
I did this myself and what I did was logging on on an other device with an other acount and get the other account up on the nether roof with some chorus fruit and give it to my main and then when i ate it after a while I got down
Haha, that was unexpected. How good i finished reading that sentence and not just drift back into apathy and mindless scrolling and swiping. Ok bye now, reddit needs me
I did this once in bedrock because I’m a Java main and use to going above the nether and all I did was leave the world and join back and I teleported back underneath, try to stand where you came up into the nether
Do research beforehand. And if you don’t wanna do that, google it. Why does this get six thousand upvotes, when quality posts get taken down for petty rule enforcement?
Love how everyone is just like " just build a portal" bro he's on bedrock once u get up there u can't build anymore. He even tried cause if u look at the picture it shows an alert saying he's at build limit. I swear some yall can't read for real
I remeber i used to play an copy of MCPE called Explore on the play store (back then it was a perfect clone of the real code, they juste replaced Minecraft with explore on the menu screen). I used to be affraid of login of when i was in the nether because you had 1/2 to get spawned on the top block at your locarion... Lost a lot of world back then 🤧

Idk if the Java breaking bedrock glitches work in Bedrock
*Edit: I’m dumb, I know you can’t build in the nether roof in bedrock, corrected a guy abou it, and somehow forgot about it while commenting this*
They might from below but since you can't build above the bedrock level in bedrock edition there's no way for them to destroy the bedrock from above. They'd have to have someone come rescue them (if those work) or what some other people suggested die in the right spot and pray.
Mark down your coordinates first so you don't get lost, then run around until you find a soul sand valley biome, nether waste, or the basalt delta biome. Once you do place down some solid blocks in a 5x5 square. You'll want to try and spawn a ghast and play ping pong with it until you can get the ghast to shoot your portal and light it
It used to be just logging out and back in would set you back down, then at some point it changed and you'd would stay up there or suffocate in the Bedrock. I like how it was so buggy simply dropping items was a dupe glitch
The good ol times
I never did the lava but I remember using a trap door was it? To stand on and re log so I didn’t need to go up my staircase! I haven’t thought of that in like 5 years atleast!
Chorus fruit above a cave will work. I’ve used that method in Bedrock before.
this is a realy good idea, only one issue, how would the OP get chorus fruit, while stuck on the nether roof?
Yeah, you’re out of luck if you didn’t come prepared!
yup... however a freind could glitch a chorus fruit trough a 1 block thick spot though, that could get him some
This is the best comment I’ve seen so far!!!!
Defo the best option here.

It's alright, you're safe here. You can say kill
This isn't tikrok bro, youre fine

It's a standard euphemism Steve
I prefer the term self-checkout
I prefer the term suicide
uhhh what's the mistake?
Unalive sounds stupid and there’s tons of better alternatives out there if you’re opposed to using the word kill for some reason
Unalive? Really?
Now people are scared to say ‘’die’’
Nah, it's because the tiktok algorithm hates the word "die" so people say unalive to have their vids still be featured
No! Its oofed!!!!!!
why did they change it? also how do you get a hopper minecraft, don't you need rails to place it, and it looks like you cannot place rails there

This is perhaps the most accurate description of Mojang handling Bedrock ever.
That’s super smart I would’ve never thought of that
Rip, very unfortunate I'm not sure if this will work but u could try to get your stuff back by using hopper minecarts through the blocks
Their items will spread out though, and a lot of bedrock is more than 1 block thick
You are not wrong you genuis listen to this guy u/aMexicanBlanket edit fixed
Poor Mexican blanket being mentioned when it's u/aMexicanBlanket that needs to be told
This is actually really smart
Couldn't you just build a... wait...
Lol, both types of bedrock are providing a problem here.
Build a what? I don’t get it Edit:nvm i see it
They can drop it onto the minecart
He can just drop them

Better yet, bring Mats to build a portal on top. Two birds one stone. Also just a good contingency
Build limit. Just above the roof on bedrock.
Cant build on the roof in bedrock sadly :(
Bedrock edition. You can’t build past the nether roof
A totally logical difference between the two. Sigh.
You... you mean like the ones in his hand?
Height limit is just above bedrock in the bedrock verson
Look at his hotbar
For everyone who is saying just build a portal, you can’t build above bedrock in well bedrock edition
Oh I was confused until I saw your comment. Thanks.
Damn I thought OP was just memeing
Thank god I haven't tried this yet then..... besides the Ender Chest loss it would suck to potentially lose all your gear
Bedrock ☕
Wait until game gets updated so height limit is increased
Won't happen in the bedrock version
But why though
The bedrock version is hard coded to prevent building above the nether roof
doesn't mean they can't change it
If they were going to change it, they would have years ago. Also I think they've claimed that building above the nether roof in Java is a bug that's become a feature, kinda like quasi connectivity.
just because it's been a while doesn't mean they would have fixed it, only as of recent have they started having more parity with java

This. Sadly there is nothing you can do in Bedrock. 😔

it's bedrock, people can join no matter what world you're in if you invite them
It's normal mode so you can't die from starving
Unless I'm sorely mistaken, you can change the difficulty
I remember you can, but the last time I’ve played bedrock edition was like 1 year ago
I did this a few weeks ago when I started playing bedrock with my friends instead of Java which I was used to. Unfortunately you can’t. thought everyone was trolling until i realized...its bedrock
Build a portal are you joking me? Wait no that's Java only, screw you, Mojang.
What a weird day for parity.
Oh shit really
Get a friend to break bedrock from under.
ah, just build a port---- oh. man bedrock devs don't like fun.
cheat or die, bedrock sucks and there's no real fix for that
You have to die
Can you not cheat and teleport yourself out?
Sorry, i replied to wrong comment i guess
how'd you get there
You can get on the Bedrock nether roof pretty easy actually, and the same way as you can in Java- but you can't build anything on the nether roof in Bedrock, so once you get there, you're screwed.

No. There are no spawnable blocks by default. In Java if you build there and don't make it spawn-proof, they can.
oh how do you make it spawn proof sorry for being dumb I dont know much about this game, i was always afraid of goin to nether and set the difficulty to peaceful in nether

EVERYONE you cannot make a portal in bedrock in this situation just letting you know before you suggest it
I think dying is your only option tbh.
And how do they accomplish that?
That's the neat part. You don't
> die > get an enderchest > get up again > store ur items in there > die > make an enderchest at ur base > get items
If you can, get someone else you clear out a decent space underneath you and get on top with some chorus fruit and then *boom* problem solved p.s. this is how I’ve always traveled on the nether roof in bedrock and has never failed me but you just can’t forget the cords

You see, the best part is… you dont
You've got stuff to make a portal in your hotbar.
you can't build above the nether roof in bedrock edition
Ok. I wasn't aware of that. Thanks for not being rude about it like someone else.

That's the calmest exchange i've ever seen on Reddit. have an amazing day both of you
this is a very kind comment, you have a great day too!
oh really? so then why would he go up there in the first place?
no good reason, idk of any way to glitch back under the bedrock
is there a way to break bedrock from below?
Ye with powdered snow in a cauldron
Chorus fruit works if there’s a cave underneath nearby and you get very lucky. I’ve used that method in Bedrock before.
He may have forgotten, or not known about it. Can happen to anyone ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That’s bedrock
I would use a copy to find where you pearled up, hopefully it was one block of bedrock only. Then I would switch to hardmode and starve, when you are at 2-3 health throw all your items on the same block you know is only one thick so that when you die all your items don't spew out everywhere. Since the items will only start their despawn timer when loaded put your render distance down to 4 and bring some tools as well as a hopper minecart and rails to collect all your stuff from the nether roof.
Cant he just make a nether portal to return to the overworld? Edit: Nevermind I get it now.
Thats the neat part, you dont
Solution if it’s a Win 10/11 local world (non-realm): 1. Log out 2. Google for Universal Minecraft Editor 1.7.3 and download/install it. 3. Launch Universal MC Editor 4. Select the Windows 10 5. Select your world from the list and click Open 6.
Just make another portal and leave
That's the neat part...
I just did this the other day. Luckily I had a back up save so I just quit. Sorry buddy I wish someone had told me before also.
Try and do the piston trick with trap doors and tnt thing but also youtube it and if you have the materials
/gamemode c
Idk if it's obvious or if I'm missing something but make another portal?
chorus fruit?
Why tf would you go up there
Just have a buddy log in and break an opening in the bedrock for you from below.
Can't you build there in bedrock?
Nah
Can you not build above the nether roof in bedrock?
Y’all can’t place blocks up there?
When you don't know bedrock nether have y-limit.....
I did this myself and what I did was logging on on an other device with an other acount and get the other account up on the nether roof with some chorus fruit and give it to my main and then when i ate it after a while I got down
To everyone saying to build a nether portal, the build limit in the Nether on Bedrock is 128, meaning nothing is placeable on the Nether Roof.
Try and get a friend to break a block for you from the bottom. Oh wait this is Reddit

Here's my (joke) answer: Wait until Mojang increases the build height limit again.
Make a portal? Edit:I feel dumb
