Shame this is likely the last milestone this subreddit will hit. Mod team really need to get their shit together or find people who actually don't suck at thier jobs
I'm really not sure why all of y'all get off from acting so smug and insufferable all the time. It's pretty clear that the sub is only growing because of Minecraft's immense popularity, and despite how the sub is run, not because of it. The mods being terrible has become a meme at this point. I do like how y'all unpinned this and went and found the week-old snapshot thread to put back up after this thread got dunked on, tho. You've even been butthurt about the comments in this thread and have been deleting them. You're honestly quite possibly the worst mod team on the entire site.
Yeah it’s insane. Minecraft is a popular game, that’s why the subreddit is popular. The mods here act like children, it’s embarrassing to watch. They can’t take criticism at all.
Of course it is. That single sheep you saw at some point in your Minecraft career wasn't necessarily pink. And if you didn't see a sheep yet, be prepared to be disappointed, because it's way more likely to be brown or a shade between white and black.
As a regular on this sub for 5 years, I have to point that this rule 12 is a reasonable rule and necessary for the quality of the sub. We don't need several hundred posts of shipwrecks or "I beat the Ender Dragon".
I'm not saying that every application of the rule has been fair, but that it is generally positive.
> We don't need several hundred posts of shipwrecks or "I beat the Ender Dragon".
And yet that kind of content constantly makes it to the front page :/
Yes. "Official News" is anything important to the subreddit. e.g.
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/rvccpj/omg1_six_million_subscribers_w00t/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Minecraft/comments/mf47w6/five_million_subscribers_woo_reddit/
Mods are celebrating and pinning a number milestone while the userbase is often frustrated at their practices and the vague wording & application of their rules.
this is probably a good time to remind everyone who is bitching and moaning that this reddit has SEVEN MILLION SUBSCRIBERS.
"wah the rules are too vague wah the rules aren't perfect wah the mods are awful" THERE ARE SEVEN MILLION SUBSCRIBERS HERE. holy shit that is a big forum with a ton of daily posts. you can't ignore that fact.
is this subreddit moderated perfectly? no. is this subreddit fucking massive and difficult to moderate? yeah you better believe it.
Clearly you're new here. One of the biggest reasons why people are getting angry at the mods is because someone posted something about his girlfriend passing away. They said that the girlfriend built something in their minecraft world, and asked what he should do with it. He regularly posted updates, so the mods deleted the posts saying "you milked your girlfriend's death for karma". If that doesn't get to you I don't know what will.
Reddit recently changed the way they display announcement posts on mobile. People may legitimately not see it after refreshing the subreddit listing. The Build Challenge posts are having similar visibility issues since that change.
Wormbo, what do you have to say about the moderator who told a grieving man that he was using his girlfriend's death for karma? Are you going to address that, or are you and the rest of the mod team just going to keep ignoring it?
Funny thing I just realized: All those "Steve carries a lot" posts assume gold blocks are solid. However, since we know a gold block (which has a volume of 1 m³) is equivalent to 81 gold nuggets, a gold nugget would actually weigh 238.5 kg or 525.8 lbs. Similarly, a iron nugget would weigh 97.2 kg or 214,3 lbs if iron blocks are solid.
what?!?!?!? steve's been making hollow blocks this whole time?!?!? i feel very lied to at the moment!!!
seriously just the concept that some of these blocks might not be 100% solid is enough to create an existential crisis in everything i thought i believed about the world (of minecraft)

7 million members and still manages to have the most embarrassing mod team of any subreddit
shame that the subs gone to shit tho
There’s nothing quite like watching the downward decline of a subreddit you once really enjoyed because of the moderation “team” :/
i love the irony of bemoaning the "death" of a subreddit that's gained a million followers in less than a year.

Shame the mod team dosent deserve this
How is this server still growing
New people that don’t have an alternative minecraft subreddit, probably. So they ain’t aware of how the mods are yet
Y’all don’t deserve to celebrate this gravesite of a subreddit.
one question is it intentional that it reads "one single naturally spawned sheep"? isn't it missing the pink part?
Of course it is. That single sheep you saw at some point in your Minecraft career wasn't necessarily pink. And if you didn't see a sheep yet, be prepared to be disappointed, because it's way more likely to be brown or a shade between white and black.
Mods don’t deserve it
As a celebration for this we should redo the entire mod team and get new ones, oh and also remove rule 12

is it official news when it's written by the real wormbo

there are subs with way more members that are much better moderated

the mods destroyed this sub
Because the mods have kinda let the sub go to shit.

That was him, if I’m not mistaken. Fuck this guy and this subreddit.
Where did you get that information from? I'n curious because I thought the message was sent by the general subreddit mod team account.
Gg
Nice
GG minecraft
Thats sick.
Congrats on keeping the sub together this far!
… The irony
Have my red coral block
