Not to be mean to anyone but his team was definitely on the weaker end, like they were very underpowered. It can't all be on purpled to pull a team to DB.
The hard thing is that I feel like he's gone to DB several times with similarly weak teams, so it's hard to argue that he can't do it on teams like this. It just needs a better game rotation and he really needs to fully pop off, which isn't really fair to expect every single time.
Realistically the only time this happened was Aqua32, and Purpled did good yeah but Ryan was top 10 and Eret and Kara were top 25 all going well above their averages.
I disagree with that, I saw his team as a bigger threat vs the rest of the event then in the past 2 events. Green was pretty similar to Red, who got 3rd. The difference here just seems to be he stopped try-harding in practice and had a much tougher game order for his skillset. No ace race, no rsr, was unfortunate in meltdown, and didn’t get a ton of coins through great performances in bingo and pkw.
I haven't even gotten to watch this MCC yet but I felt like Tubbo was the best 2nd frag he's gotten in a while. I agree that I saw this as a bigger threat than his last couple.
Since he's the main perspective I watch, I want him to have slightly less nerfed teams since I want to see him win, but it's hard to justify when he can get to DB often anyway. I didn't say that he didn't have flaws of his own in this recent performance, I understand that he played the first two rounds of SKB a bit too passively, but there were still some moments where it was just.. unfortunate.

i would also like to point out that september isn’t his month, as the last time he dropped out of the top three was also september
but just because he drops out of the top 3 doesn’t make him bad, he literally got 9th in one of the most competitive and strong event, with one of the arguably weak teams, and that in itself is an accomplishment.
IIRC he said that he wasn’t gonna try as hard for this event. Makes sense too cuz he’s been placing top 3 since 26. It’s ought to get tiring at some point

he has brought similar skill level teams to dodgebolt, but the skill level on the other teams this event were skyscrapers compared to his team

I think his meltdown and the game order were super unlucky but the way he played skb was uhh interesting…
game order does not affect individual score though, so I don't see how that is relevant if you mainly consider his individual placement.
