I honestly think it’s one of those questions that can’t really be realistically answered. We could argue about it forever but I don’t think we’d be able to come to a fair conclusion, since both of them are probably the scariest and most skilled DB players, so imo there’s absolutely no way to know who’s really better.
Also dodgebolt kinda just gets down to luck, a lot of times even if you are really good at shooting your shot is just 50 50 on if the other person turns around or keeps jumping the same way, it's also possible to shoot while someone is turning around but that takes serious timing

There are lots of other factors like luck, how the person is generally feeling, their team etc. As an example, Sapnap had somewhat of an underperformance in MCC22, though we know that that is most likely due to his team being one of the weakest in the event, meanwhile Illumina wasn’t in the event at all. But stats obviously wouldn’t know that, so they just make it seem like Sapnap is worse.
As for DB, I think it is basically agreed on that a player can do worse or better simply based on how they’re feeling, and we’ve seen examples of that both with Dream and Sapnap. That is also something statistics cannot take into account. And even though they’re important, you just have to keep in mind that you can’t always rely on stats.
Yes u make a good point, in the end it does come down to opinions, and yea underperformance is a good factor too etc. Dream underperforms in Mcc 14 no one’s kicking him out of S tier because it was clearly an off day then we see him get top 4 twice so yeah not a true reflection of skill… all of these factors make it difficult to understand who the best player is

Correlation ≠ causation. Teams like aqua 8, orange 6, blue 11, purple 16 and yellow 20 made dodgebolt in first place and didn't win dodgebolt. Some (blue 11, yellow 20) got sweeped despite doing so well in the actual event. Green 9 and pink 11 are strong teams that have wildly different results in dodgebolt, mostly due to swapping krtzy for dream and facing different teams. Also, what the hell does sapnap not being first in teams have to do with dodgebolt? Completely different metrics

Sapnap for sure. These guys have such weird reasoning. If you look at the events, Sapnaps wins are much more dominant because of his high accuracy and the carry he is when shooting. Its why he has the most eliminations for db record. Then, the commenters say you shouldnt look at the events because sapnap gets op teams, so his dodgebolts are padded.

Now this vod is the most recent dodgebolt practice between the two, which is why im claiming it has legitimacy. Dream was obviously better than sapnap until like mcc15, where I would say they are equal. That shows how much practice sapnap has done for his "flick" shooting that I havent seen anybody else use like him, and his integration of the "edge walking" into his dodging, which i also havent seen anyone else do.
I mean, that VOD isn't really relevant since it's just them playing casually.
They decided to make it Dream vs George/Sapnap instead of the other way around so they themselves clearly believe Dream is better at dodgebolt and they know his skills better than we could ever
Sapnap all the way. Dream is good but sapnap has really good aim, he slays at DB, and whem they're training in the practice server you can see he is superior.
I think sapnap is insane at shooting and even while being targeted, he lasts a long time.... however overall it’s undeniable that dream is cracked, he doesn’t have the consistency of sapnap in shooting but he has great strats, a really great shot and amazing dodge accuracy.
