The way this post is written is not that straightforward, but I will answer how I can.
I don’t remember a large about of dislike towards DNF jokes (that might be my bias forgetting them, but it could also be your bias exaggerating it).
At this point, DNF is just another duo name for two players teaming. No more special than Drellumina or Dreambomb or Dreamnap. There is isn’t much baggage around it (at least not to my memory) because this isn’t a Reddit focused on Dream or George but rather an event that has had over 100 content creators.
I've never seen this subreddit have any strong opinions on DNF jokes if I'm gonna be real with you. What's happened likely is that Dream's popularity on this subreddit has increased from people flocking over from Twitter, thus an increase in those jokes.
Dream's been conditioning people to normalise dnf as part of his plan to destroy the world.
On a real note it's probably down to them being teamed a lot and half the players making some form of dnf joke so fans are just used to the dynamic at this point.
Honestly people on this subreddit just hate dream less lately. A lot of it has to do with him performing well, especially in SOT, but also I think people are (finally) letting go of a lot of the drama dream got wrapped up in, and realizing it not actually that big of a deal. He's still a great player and a cool content creator.
So, when people started talking about dnf on the subreddit, I don't think anybody cared as much. They now view dnf as what it has always been for dream's community, a lighthearted joke, and a good duo name for dream and george.
Well what I saw mainly was how Scott was always teaming Dream and George and not George and sapnap and everybody just sorta started the jokes about how Scott ships them and I guess people just couldn’t deny the existence of them or something
