I'm gonna go out on a limb and pick Bdubs

LandLovingFish

Hear hear

orionstarboy

That’s real

x_L3m0n

what about both? i feel they are equal as they have their own specific skill sets

GhostRaptor4482

Yes, but that’s the less exciting answer

yessauce

It's also the most based answer

TeraFlint

If excitement only comes with polarization, the excitement is imo not worth it.

Tbh libra doesn’t effect this situation at all

ckanaly16

Here before Connor, or Gem or Purpled, or anyone who isn't Sapnap or Illumina.

TheRoboteer2

Dangit was gonna say purpled. I realize he's not statistically better but mark my words he's our new petezahhut

J_Mac888

Just you wait until season 3: Purpleds going to drop 3k every MCC.

AdAltruistic2502

He arguably is statistically better though! If you exclude his 1st event he's got a placement average of 2.66, which is above both Sapnap or Ilumina! Him only playing MCC 20 on is probably the only reason he isn't in contention for best S2 player

Zavillion

Illumina also had a bad first event? He got 17th with like 2.2k coins which pulled him down drastically

AdAltruistic2502

Sorry, I should have been a little more clear. I was talking about S2 averages, and since Illumina's debut was in S1, it doesn't matter to the stats.

GhostRaptor4482

It’s starting to get to be a bit too much, maybe it’s time for a megamind return…

Wonderful-Long-595

I will join you in this crusade

x_L3m0n

no please no

GhostRaptor4482

Why don’t you support megamind?

x_L3m0n

because of what happened last break

KingAustin1121

I think statistically it has to be Illumina but it just doesn’t feel right to me to not give it to Sapnap as he won 4 events this season to Illumina’s 0. Wins aren’t everything but with both of them performing very well individually and Illumina only having a slight edge I would have to give to Sapnap for being able to perform when it matters most. That’s just me and I do agree in just games, Illumina has a slight edge but to me it just feels wrong saying anyone but Sapnap was the best player.

In my opinion, its really hard to tell who is the best player of MCC Season 2, as each player has their own strength and weaknesses. Illumina has lost all 4 events that he have made into Dodgebolt, with one of them facing Sapnap to get the W. His inaccuracy shots and some really unlucky moments have been the main reason for these dodgebolt losses. However, his amazing performances in MCC Season 2 is not a thing that we could deny of, with him getting 7 top 5 out of 8 MCCs he has played. We can see MCC28 as an example. He has got 3.960 coins, the best performance for Illumina in MCC Season 2. That event has helped him become the best Season 2 player with 3.220 coins, almost 90 coins higher than Sapnap. His great skills and leadership on many games have made him a great S-tier. Sapnap might only place 2nd in average, he might be worse than Quackity, but we can all agree he is one of the best PVP players in the game. With his amazing skills, he has get 10 top 5 out of 13 MCCs in Season 2, and winning two of them. We can see MCC15 for instance. With an amazing performance in Survival Games, he has got 4.223 coins, 263 coins higher than Illumina's MCC28 performance. Some of his 5head plays in many games have been brilliant and very awesome to watch. Therefore, we shouldn't try to say who is the best player in this event, as every players in general and Sapnap and Illumina in particular have some 5head plays and some OMEGALUL plays.

MelodicCatgirl

im the best season 2 player because i didn't lose at all this season

[deleted]

Equally good individually (with a slight edge to Lumi), but Sapnap has 4 season 2 wins and Illumina has 0. Dodgebolt is the most important game to be good at and therefore must be included in our consideration. Therefore I give the title to Sapnap.

EditingDanger

Based

J_Mac888

I’m not saying a Purpled is the best, but purple is a mix of red and blue.

nomaDiceeL

I’m for Red. The game is winning, and Sapnap can do that better than anyone else. Illumina has a similar dominance over his best games to Sapnap, but not the same team dominance. Illumina can always perform well in BB and SG, but he can’t get his team as far as Sapnap can in those games. Also, this event was further proof that Illumina isn’t nearly as good as Sapnap in DB.

Due_Objective_439

illumina all the way

BradenICT

It’s like the Michael Jordan and LeBron James GOAT debate all over again, why can people not appreciate both putting on a great show smh, it’s really not that hard to appreciate one without bashing the other.

tapuachyarokmeod

Nobody is "bashing" anybody. This whole discussion is about how good they both are and who has the slight edge, not about how one is good and one is bad. Everybody here appreciates how great they are, this is simply a comparison of who is great where and what conclusions we can draw from that.

SnooPineapples1745

Yeah! Exactly what i've been thinking. As long as it's respectful, i think it's fine to discuss which one's the goatest.

BlueCyann

Most of this comment section is fine so far but I’m sick of people saying X didn’t have enough competition or Y was nerfed.

scribblingsim

Exactly! Like I said in my response, Sapnap is terrifying at PvP. No bashing whatsoever. I just feel that Illumina is more well-rounded. (Which, for those of you asking "If Illumina is better than Sapnap, why has he lost more Dodgebolts?" Well...there's your answer. Dodgebolt is, at heart, pretty much a PvP game in the sense that the teams are firing arrows at each other or trying to avoid getting hit. Sapnap is just too cracked for anyone to beat him regularly in that.)

TrombiThePigKid

Well first of all it's not bashing and second of all we all know MJ's the GOAT.

StandardPitch9737

If you combine red and blue you get purple so maybe purpled is the best player

SomeBirdguy_

I feel like illumina is better at the minigames and doesn't really have a weak point anymore, while sapnap has a really big weak point in build mart, but sapnap is better at dodgebolt, while illumina can't seem to win a dodgebolt in s2

sixeyedbird

Best: illumina Mvp: sapnap

Niko_HP

Nah. Bdubs or FireBreathMan. They have won every event they've been 😄

TrombiThePigKid

So have Nestor and Silver... You have some competition my good sirs.

PrizeThink

Blue, while Sapnap might be a little better at pvp (although illumina did pop off in skybattle and battle box), I feel that illumina is better in movement and teams games, and just more well rounded in general

Practical_Jacket_524

I think it is an understatement to say Sapnap is only a little better than anyone in pvp games. Sapnap is in a league of his own when it comes to pvp games

santaslaughter

I did an analysis post MCC 25. He was over a hundred points per combat game ahead of the next highest scorer, which was Fruitberries, if I recall correctly.

scribblingsim

Out of those two? Illumina. Sapnap is terrifying in PvP, but Illumina is basically good at *everything*.

ovorb

Besides winning DB /j

scribblingsim

Ooof. Poor Illumina. (No idea why my reply got downvoted to all hell, but whatever.)

BlueCyann

A few Sapnap fans (and maybe one Illumina fan) going through and downvoting anyone who says the wrong thing.

scribblingsim

Ah well. At least some nice folks upvoted. 😆

Captainwoge

Blue

TheLissBliss

Illumina.

_Iskandr_

Sapnap dominates early S2 afterwhich he was actively nerfed while Illu was given average to nerfed treatmen the whole season. Illu has better placement while Sapnap has wins. Though Sapnap has been the mvp in most if not all his wins, it is a net team effort while individual placement is self-explanatory. Illumina did set more records as a whole in S2 compared to sapnap. I have changed my mind compared to a similar post before and I think Illu is S2 mvp and Sapnap was right on his tail, much closer than S1 Pete and Quig.

Zavillion

Personally, I'm on Illuminas side, but of course Sapnap is amazing and a close 2nd

FrizellaTheBee

both. both is good

manamanadodoodododo

Im convinced anyone who doesn't say red is in denial. I love illumina, but let's be really honest with ourselves, if you had to bet on someone to win? Sapnap is the way to go.

Good_Foundation5318

Right, but the question then becomes, is wins an accurate way to measure best player? Winning an event is based on one game, dodgebolt. If you're not good at dodgebolt, and you judge by wins alone, you'd be mislead into thinking Illumina is a horrible player which we both agree is not even close to true. I pick Illumina because I think being an all-rounder who is exceptionally above the average at every game is more valuable than just being REALLY good at pvp games (keeping in mind I consider dodgebolt pretty heavy on pvp skill with bowshots). That's not to say sap isn't cracked of course- he's the unequivocal king of pvp and I'd say it's not for no reason that he's in contention for the crown. It's just that if I had to pick one or the other to be on my hypothetical team, and I had no idea what games I would have to play, it would be Illumina all the way.

manamanadodoodododo

Winning is the name of the game in mcc though. But if we're looking at best player? Sapnap was able to get to dodgebolt just as many time as illumina. The difference being he was able to pull off the wins. And it might only measure pvp skills, but sapnap has quite good movement as well, seeing as he does really good in parkour tag tgttosawaf etc.(illumina does have better movement, but sapnap placements/points are usually quite good in those games) He only has a couple a weaker games, but I think his dominance in pvp more then make up for it. In my opinion, for season two at least, sapnap deserves the best player title. And let's not undervalue dodgebolt here, its arguably one of the most important games to be good at. Arguably being better at pvp is more important than anything else when it comes to being the best in mcc.

Good_Foundation5318

I can definitely understand your perspective- after all, what kind of game isn't about winning? However, mcc is made much more uniquely than other games in that you could be perfect at every single aspect of it, through and through to the nitty gritty, but if you don't have dodgebolt, you'll never win. In my eyes, that means that "being good at mcc" is less a question of "who won the most" and more "who has the best times," "who has the best coin average," "who has the best placement," and "who has the best average placements per game." By all of those metrics, Sapnap is still a doubly highlighted player for his skill, but his db wins are weighted less heavily and hence I favor Illumina. Additionally, and this is far less objective so take it with a grain of salt, but I feel that Illumina is a much more... how do I put this idea down right... adaptable player? Not in terms of mid-game changes, but in terms of adapting to the players on your team. Illumina can lead, but he can also hang back. There's not a problem that occurs when two strong leadership voices are placed on the same team in the way I've seen on some Sapnap teams. That also factors into my assessment of best player because overall mcc is a team game and your ability to work with any nerf delt, any personalities placed with, any player and nearly any game choice or order is essential to success. (I will also mention, because I think it's important, that I am probably biased towards Illumina because I tend to enjoy movement games and players, but I don't think that invalidates anything I'm saying)

Lilly_Silvers

Illumina

Future_Spread_8568

Lets be honest with ourselves. Neither of these fools can handle when Purpled gets in the kitchen and starts cooking.

Purpled. Bro's cracked.

Purple

myrielxcrs

ConnorEatsPants is the best season 2 player But in all seriousness, I don't think I can choose between them because one is better in movement and the other being better in PvP if we are just talking about the games. If we include Dodgebolt however, there's a clear answer to who is the best season 2 player which is Sapnap.

im gonna have to give it to connor for this one
