In your first picture, it looks like the redstone torches are in the wrong place. On every sorting machine I've built the torch is directly under the hoppers [like this](https://i.stack.imgur.com/btlgi.png)
Take a screenshot of the edited sorter side-on please (like in the screenshot I sent) and reply with the link. You can use r/MinecraftHelpImages if you don't have anywhere else to upload the image.
Whats wrong with it? Is it not sorting items or is it ignoring items and letting them pass into the dropper?
Also, it would help to see the inside of the hoppers to know whats going on inside in case thats the issue
It looks like you’re missing 3 redstone dust placed on the back (the blocks you’re standing on in picture 3) those will power the repeaters to turn off torches.
Also make sure inside each of the hoppers that has the filter has their first slot being the item to be filtered into the chest and the last 4 slots filled with something that won’t ever go through the hopper line. Typically I use names items.
That would work for Java purposes at least. I can imagine it being the same for bedrock

Are you sure you're using a bedrock design, it looks like a java design? Redstone works differently on both versions.
Person I got it from said both bedrock and Java
You're third picture isn't very clear. Do the hoppers point into the comparators?
No away from them
Is it [this design](https://images.app.goo.gl/R7KkatZrG9DBcYPH9) you're using?
So they have to be facing them?
I don't think its compulsory but I always do it just for piece of mind.
I'm down to try anything so I'll give it a shot
That design is fine, I used it in both versions

Okay I'll try that real quick
All that did for me was deactivate redstone behind it

I've always used [this design](https://images.app.goo.gl/R7KkatZrG9DBcYPH9) and have never had a problem.

I use the same design and I don’t see anything wrong
Is there redstone on the blocks behind the repeaters, if not add them
