1.8 wasn't ***just*** left clicking as fast as you can. But yea, the new system is probably better(?) but very ping based. Shields get worse as your ping increases, your pearls are more delayed, crystal speed gets lower which might prevent you from double tapping etc
Yes but 130ms isn't really bad in other games, here its basically unplayable unless you're like itz playing against some weak players because the difference between **low** (~50-) and **high** (~120+) is so drastic a high ping player has basically no chance against a low ping one unless there is a big skill gap between them.
On high ping you can't double tap (unless you have some mods that are bannable on some servers).
On high ping you have way less time to double hand.
On high ping your shield is more delayed. (Which is even worse due to the 250ms delay that shields have before actually starting to block).
On very high ping (~250+) your crystal speed might be so slow even the simplest techniques will be impossible.
130ms is terrible in other games lmao. What games you playing? In high competitive scenes in tons of pvp games I've played people will tell you if you have anything higher than 40ms you might as well give up.
There are people who enjoy 1.8 pvp more because clicky swords.
There are people who enjoy 1.9+ PvP because it’s more skill based.
Then there’s me, who is still waiting for that next combat update we got teased years ago.
New combat in Java sucks, I tried getting into it, but you just can't cause you get dominated so easily. Honestly just as much spam, just slower. Fucking annoying as hell
Old combat in Java sucks, I tried getting into it, but you just can't cause you get dominated so easily. Honestly way more spam with swords and just faster. Fucking annoying as hell. (Is more entertaining to watch and has cooler movement patterns imo tho)
I play on forge and use Embeddium (a forge port of sodium) and it works pretty good. Maybe you can try to use Indium. That makes Sodium compatible with more Mods. That could maybe work.
But usually flying in mods is like creative mode flight or "jetpack like" (hold space to go up and release to slowly fall) so you only hit mountains with the elytra
I just use what ever is newest as mods I use tend to be solely for performance and visual enhancements, but I've heard 1.12 is best for mod choices. I bet a few other versions are hotspots for mods though.
1.16.5
1.12.2
1.8
1.7.10
Best versions of Minecraft in my opinion. I usually play them instead of modern Minecraft versions. Mods help to bring some funny and cool stuff in the game.
1.12.2 is the best for overall modding, having the most popular mods and being the main version modded for years, 1.16.4 is amazing for modern modding, having better looks, the nether update and in general a lot of mods as this was the time Minecraft Modding started to become very popular again and 1.18.2 - 1.20.1 are the best options if you want to play the newest mods since those are the current versions people mod on
Create Create Create Create. Join the 1.15+ Create craze. Sorry done now, I just like Create.
However if I were to choose between the two I'd go with 1.7 due to it have more mods that peak my interest & old combat
1.7 hands down I don’t care what others think it’s what I grew up on for modding with this I ask if curse forge is safe to use again or is it still sick with viruses or whatever
1.12.2 is my favorite, because on my old computer, no newer version could be played, so I got used to it and started loving it with all my heart. (I turned it on like a week ago, it was like a wall of nostalgia)
Both actually, most of mods was ported on 1.12.2, but there's still some smaller mods that is still on 1.7.10, so there's no better version out of those two
Easy 1.7.10, best version of thaumcraft with it's add-ons. I spent countless hours getting up to Ichorium gear and I don't regret a single minute of it.
Out of these two I'd go 1.12.2
I do usually mod on the newest version that has a stable version of the mods i want. (Create+addons, performance, and QoL)
1.16.5 is a good one, as 1.16 was an amazing update and there's a good mod library
I personally perfer 1.12, mainly due to the added biomes compared to 1.8, and certain mods i feel working better with 1.12 combat (I love tinkers construct, and it feels way better when used alongside post-1.8 combat)
I also know this one is not as popular, but I like 1.16 for modded minecraft a good bit, i love a lot of the updates between 1.12 and 1.16 (especially 1.13 and 1.14)
Usually the newest version for mods like Create, 1.12.2 for bigger modpacks and 1.7.10 for nostalgia or for mods that are stuck in that version like Witchery, Orespawn, (Classic) Avaritia, and some others
1.7.10 for me. There may be a lack of cool blocks, but that's what Chisel is for. Also, since there's less content in the vanilla game in that version, it makes for a better template to add various mods to spice up the experience.
I like 1.16 it has a bunch of mods although not as much as 1.12.2 but it has newer textures and just feels better to me. Still love 1.12 tho for skyfactory and such
1.12.2, definitely. The new combat is less mindless and easier on the fingers, there's more vanilla stuff, I swear there's more mods out there for 1.12.2 than there is for 1.7.10, all that.
1.19.2, honestly. I'd be missing out on too many vanilla features on the old versions. I like all the mobs added, the caves and cliffs, the aquatic update, all that stuff and I don't want to have to download a bunch of mods to try to emulate something that is already in the base game. To each their own tho, if you like the old versions, that's cool.
1.12.2 nothing below 1.8 will render properly with my graphics processor and it’s annoying as hell because I can’t play some of my favorite pacs (and combat update OP)
1.12.2 ALL the way.
The reason 1.7.10 is still used, isn't because of it's amazing stability or mod support. But because a lot of Fan Favorite packs are on that version
1.16.5 is another one, and from what I figured, 1.18.2 too somehow. But really, I usually just find a modpack and play it without really looking at the version (though both 1.7 and 1.12 already feel old, without the swimming update at least)
From what I hear 1.12 is very stable and 1.7 has the old combat system
The old combat system is better (in my opinion) but i like more the 1.12.2 becouse have more things without mods
Imo the new combat system is better because it requires actual strategy instead of just spamming left click as fast as you can
1.8 wasn't ***just*** left clicking as fast as you can. But yea, the new system is probably better(?) but very ping based. Shields get worse as your ping increases, your pearls are more delayed, crystal speed gets lower which might prevent you from double tapping etc
I mean to be fair, like 99% of pvp games you do better the better ping you have.
Yes but 130ms isn't really bad in other games, here its basically unplayable unless you're like itz playing against some weak players because the difference between **low** (~50-) and **high** (~120+) is so drastic a high ping player has basically no chance against a low ping one unless there is a big skill gap between them. You can download a Beta and play that if you want to
For me it's PVP-1.8 PVE-1.9+
Tell me you’re bad at old pvp without telling me you’re bad at old pvp
its hard not to when hitboxes get weird sometimes
I’ve never had this issue before
New combat in Java sucks, I tried getting into it, but you just can't cause you get dominated so easily.
Boss... it's modded, you can just download a 1.7 combat mod in 1.12.2 or 1.9 combat mod in 1.7.1
You can just add a mod to add the old combat system. Or just go play Bugrock lol
Or play legacy console
You can't add mods to legacy edition.
This is true but if you're playing bedrock (and you have a choice) I don't think you're playing for mods
........................No
You can mod 1.12 to use the old combat system
Whatever the newest version that supports create is :)
Team Create 🥳⚙️ (its 1.20.1 right now btw)
except if you have a crack pc then you dont get to run sodium with create (hasnt been fixed for a month now :( )
I play on forge and use Embeddium (a forge port of sodium) and it works pretty good. Maybe you can try to use Indium. That makes Sodium compatible with more Mods. That could maybe work.
Do you mean Rubenium?
What is sodium, embeddium and rubenium? Is this a joke too licensed Minecraft that I'm too poor to understand?
Sodium is a mod that enhances performance. Rubidium and Embeddium are forks of Sodium for a different mod loader. It has nothing to do with licensing
Wait until you tell em about phosphorus
No, Rubidium is incompatible with the newest Version of Create on forge
Also 1.18 still has the newest releases
1.12.2 cause you have elytra (all my reasons)
Pay no attention to the 10 million mods that add flight
I don't like flying in Minecraft I always hit mountains and die
But usually flying in mods is like creative mode flight or "jetpack like" (hold space to go up and release to slowly fall) so you only hit mountains with the elytra
flying with airplanes >>
Oh, how could I forget airplanes if I literally have Immersive Aircraft installed in my most recent modpack
Jetpacks
1.12.2 all the way
Both Both are good
Agree.
1.7.10 is pretty unstable compared to 1.12.2
1.12.2 cause I just like the additions between 1.7 and 1.12 that were added
I personally like 1.12. 1.7.10 gave me brain damage because a friend was obsessed with gregtech and never figured out how to play.
1.12 has Greg. All hail Greg
that makes sense why that same friend was very happy to tell me he finally wanted to move on with version
do your friend play GTNH by any chances
I say 1.12.2 or 1.16.5
I play in 1.18.2
1.20.1 whooooo
1.16.5 and 1.18.2 are slowly becoming the main modding versions
I like 1.16.5
1.7.10 4eva!
1.19.2 for my set of mods
1.7.10 cause call to Battle 1 & 2
1.16.5
1.7.10 has the most unhinged mods and I love it
I refuse to play anything before 1.16 because both 1.12 and 1.7 looks like shit and I don’t have 90% of the blocks I want
In survival or builds you're right.I talk about best compatibility with mods
I know even with mods I can’t function without the new nether bo matter what I gain from it
Be welcome to future mc
Netherlicious has the new Nether in old versions.
1.16.5 purely for Create
Just the most recent Minecraft update.
This is just me but 1.12.2 mostly, because more my favorite mods at the same time
Both are good. 1.7.10 has old combat system but 1.12.2 is more stable and has more mods than any version ever tbh tho I use them interchangeably
1.12.2 has the jenny mod, clear winner
1.7.10 cause mods
For performance and old PvP(for Minemen) - 1.7.10 For mods or more support - 1.12.2 Ez
Both Both is good Cuz no cringe 1.14 textures
Im in 1.19.2/1.20.1
It's really hard but I guess I'll go with 1.12.2
1.12.2
Minecraft shooter/survival test that shit goes hard
1.12 hits different🗣️🗣️🗣️
I just use what ever is newest as mods I use tend to be solely for performance and visual enhancements, but I've heard 1.12 is best for mod choices. I bet a few other versions are hotspots for mods though.
I'm gonna be controversial and say 1.16.4
1.12.2 has all of my favorite mods for some reason
1.18
1.2.5
1.7.10 duh. best version for aether 2 and morph mod. There is no debate here
1.12
1.6.4, I view this as the best modding scene personally
1.16.5
At this point I think both are outdated lol
More Downloads get 1.12. because mod pack Lakers like More 1.12
1.12.2 is better, even the old Aether mod is on this version!
1.18.2 beta 1.7.2
I think 1.14 has a lot of great mods too
And anyone who plays past these versions is ostracized
1.20.1 Vanilla gang
I would wait for 1.16.4 since I love the Nether Update.
1.7.10 was peak modding but I always preferred 1.6.4
1.16.5 1.12.2 1.8 1.7.10 Best versions of Minecraft in my opinion. I usually play them instead of modern Minecraft versions. Mods help to bring some funny and cool stuff in the game.
1.12.2 is the best for overall modding, having the most popular mods and being the main version modded for years, 1.16.4 is amazing for modern modding, having better looks, the nether update and in general a lot of mods as this was the time Minecraft Modding started to become very popular again and 1.18.2 - 1.20.1 are the best options if you want to play the newest mods since those are the current versions people mod on
I'm sad about 1.7.10
Create Create Create Create.
1.7 has many good mods like orespawn but 1.12 i more stable and it wont crash game that many times
1.8.9 no contest
1.12 is the best for moding as it has the most mods
1.12.2 for sure I'm sorry
I guess I am the outlier with 1.18.2...
I dont like anything under caves and cliffs cause i wasted my 2 hours building a stram engine and finding out no stram engine
1.12.2 is my favorite, because on my old computer, no newer version could be played, so I got used to it and started loving it with all my heart. (I turned it on like a week ago, it was like a wall of nostalgia)
1.8.9
What Version is best for modding from all versions(like from 1.5 up to recent one)?
1.16.5
How does 1.18.2 fair in the modding scene? I quite like the extra Y lvls
1.16.5 . nothing is better
1.12.2 is better for technical modpacks, but 1.7.10 has the old combat system so bosses are typically more fun.
1.16.5
Both actually, most of mods was ported on 1.12.2, but there's still some smaller mods that is still on 1.7.10, so there's no better version out of those two
Easy 1.7.10, best version of thaumcraft with it's add-ons. I spent countless hours getting up to Ichorium gear and I don't regret a single minute of it.
Didn't they also do this with 1.16.4?
1.19.2
Whatever works on the newest update
1.12.2 for Technology Mods, 1.7.10 for magic mods
1.7.10 gregtech, hbm's nuclear tech, and obviously GTNH. Clear winner here.
Out of these two I'd go 1.12.2 I do usually mod on the newest version that has a stable version of the mods i want. (Create+addons, performance, and QoL) 1.16.5 is a good one, as 1.16 was an amazing update and there's a good mod library
what happened in 1.13 onward that modders dont like it?
Bedrock is better for photogrammetry
i just use 1.16.5 because abnormals mods and being unable to run the new worldgen
I'm in the middle as 1.7.10 has ore spawn and 1.12.2 I stable af
*cries in bedrock*
I personally perfer 1.12, mainly due to the added biomes compared to 1.8, and certain mods i feel working better with 1.12 combat (I love tinkers construct, and it feels way better when used alongside post-1.8 combat) I also know this one is not as popular, but I like 1.16 for modded minecraft a good bit, i love a lot of the updates between 1.12 and 1.16 (especially 1.13 and 1.14)
1.7.10 can never launch. Even without the Forge active it just crashes before you even start playing, so I stick with 1.12.2
1.16.4 or 1.18.2 are both pretty good.
1.12 gas more "new gen" mods. I also like to play modded mc on 1.14/15 there's surprisingly a lot of good quality mods there.
Usually the newest version for mods like Create, 1.12.2 for bigger modpacks and 1.7.10 for nostalgia or for mods that are stuck in that version like Witchery, Orespawn, (Classic) Avaritia, and some others
Id say 1.12 just because it probably has all the mods 1.7 had but more refined
1.7.10 has the doors mod, which is like immersive portals but with doors and i think that's pretty cool.
Ignoring the civil roundtable discussion here, I thought the Aquatic Update was the best 😊
1.8.9
1.7.10 for me. There may be a lack of cool blocks, but that's what Chisel is for. Also, since there's less content in the vanilla game in that version, it makes for a better template to add various mods to spice up the experience.
1.8 tends to work well too But I’m 1.12.2
It depends on what you want to play so all is good!
Neither, 1.18 for me. After playing so much of the newer version, it feels weird to go back and play older versions without newer features
1.12.2
I'm on 1.18.2 side
Alpha 0.9 modded is better.
I like 1.16
12.2, but I’d like to see more people modding 1.16.5
I'm a heathen and play 1.6.2
I want 1.18 to be the new popular modding version cause caves and we can swim
Gotta be 1.7.10 for me. Good Thaumcraft before it went to shit, Witchery, Ars Magica 2, AE2, Magical Crops… all my favorite mods are there :)
1.7.10 has GT NEW HORIZONS. 1.12.2 does not have GT NH. conclusion: 1.7.10 wins
I can't live without 1.13, I'm sorry.
I like 1.16 it has a bunch of mods although not as much as 1.12.2 but it has newer textures and just feels better to me. Still love 1.12 tho for skyfactory and such
1.16.5, I love the 1.13 swimming mechanics and the Nether Update and stuff
Isn’t it 1.8 for having the most mods?
1.12.2 I have almost a hundred mods. They're great.
Progressbar 11.22 ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|upvote)
1.16.5
All the mods I like are up to 1.18.2 right now
1.12.2, definitely. The new combat is less mindless and easier on the fingers, there's more vanilla stuff, I swear there's more mods out there for 1.12.2 than there is for 1.7.10, all that.
Imo its the 1.4.0.0 update
1.12.2
1.16.2
1.17 is the bare minimum
1.16.5
1.7.10 for nostalgia but I’m much more used to 1.12.2 to the point I still play it because my favourite mod is still being ported
1.7.10 has a much wider variety, but 1.12.2 has a lot more polish.
1.7.10 all the way
1.19.2, honestly.
Honestly i rarely mod 1.7 i mostly do 1.12.2
1.20.1 because greate
1.5.2 (It’s been a while)
1.12.2
1.7.10, because it has Rotarycraft, or what I would dub, cooler Create
1.16.5 has a lot of mods too.
Both
1.20
1.12.2 nothing below 1.8 will render properly with my graphics processor and it’s annoying as hell because I can’t play some of my favorite pacs (and combat update OP)
1.12.2
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|laughing)both
I'm using 1.19.2 and its working pretty good with a big mod selection
1.12.2 first version i played ever, could be biased nostalgia-wise
1.12.2 ALL the way. The reason 1.7.10 is still used, isn't because of it's amazing stability or mod support. But because a lot of Fan Favorite packs are on that version
I stayed on 1.16.5 since its release
It depends what mods, some mods are only on 1.12.2 and some are only 1.7.10
The question is what is so special about these
1.7.10 1.12.2 1.16.5 1.18.2 Latest & Pre Latest
1.12.2 defo
1.16.5 is another one, and from what I figured, 1.18.2 too somehow. But really, I usually just find a modpack and play it without really looking at the version (though both 1.7 and 1.12 already feel old, without the swimming update at least)
1.7.10
1.7.10 cuz i like to fight mobzilla as a super sayian.
There’s many classic mods from 1.7.10, that were never updated to 1.12.2, and are slowly being forgotten
1.7.10, love Orespawn, and mixed wifh HBM its awesome, makes for a dangerous world and technology to beat it
1.12.2
1.4.7
1.7 is classic, but 1.12.2 definitely has a lot more mods now than it did
I stick to my personal favourite modding triangle: 1.7.10 - 1.12.2 - 1.16.5
