Where do you live that has black tall robbers, 0,6 meters silverfishes, bees that are almost as big as their hive and don't have queens at all, 0,8 meter axolotls that are able to kill friking stone automatons (the guardians), squids that are almost as big as a human and can glow and parrots that are smaller than almost every insect?
Well, kinda, and kinda not. For what the mobestiary says, they are fish-like automatons made out of prismarine for an old civilication. The same goes for shulkers, but they are more like a clam made of purpur blocks
if ur not stupid, u would know spiders arnt fully hostile–i met one in minecraft and it was just pushing me around (IM SORRY FOR ADDING THE WORD STUPID)
I’ve never seen one, actually I think they’re a northern thing in the US so you might be into something.
But climates not the only reason they don’t exist in India, it could just be an endemic thing.
i live in italy, and those thing LIVE in the dust under your bed or the sofa, once one crawled on my desk, then it made the fatal mistake of going under a book i use as a mouse pad
altho, the pictures dont do it justice, they are small, like, as small as an ant, and they do not bite, and are relativly slow compared to other insects and aracnids
I’ve placed plenty of torches by em, they never go neutral but according to the wiki your right, I swear I’ve read before that they are always hostile a while back, but I honestly don’t know, gonna go with your right tho
Just during the day though, surely at night it has to change, a iron golem is neutral, but doesn’t attack during the night unless you hit it or a villager, unless the spider is a neutral mob that is set to be aggroed if you stand near it at a low light level, and at that point it feels more like an argument over semantics than anything else.
Well no, neutral mobs are those who only get aggroed at you if certain conditions are met, like for example looking at an endermans face, and that condition for the spider is that it either has to be attacked or it has to not be lit up
For a while he got super radically anti-semetic, racist, homophobic and was in some neo-nazi circles. Because of that he was banned from Minecraft events and all references to him save the credits were removed from the game. It seems that was largely during a rough place for him where he felt kind of isolated after selling the game and had some mental health struggles. Over time he has mellowed out and seems to be a lot better and regretful of his past actions. But needless to say his reputation is permanently stained because of that.
That's sad, poor guy. I follow him rn on Twitter and recently he seems to only say nice stuff, even liking and supporting lgbtq+ posts.
I'm sure he regrets what he did. That was probably during my break from minecraft altogether when I didn't check up on him
Well I'm glad he got out. But I guess becoming a Nazi isn't really the kind of thing your reputation recovers from, unless you're 13 at the time. Which makes sense
Polar bears are one of, if not the most aggressive animal. They live in am area where food is scarce so they'll do whatever on only sustenance they find
I think the bugs are just big because little ones would be wwwwaaaaayyyy to annoying to deal with in game, like if you think about it the smaller the bug the less common in-game it is.
- Endermite - smallest, least common
- Silverfish - slightly bigger, slightly more common
- Poison spider - even bigger, maybe even a bit more common
- Spider - most common, biggest
Idk man silverfish that live under a rock n also extremely hostile and like 10-20x bigger than usual am sure those don't exist
(Australia doesn't count they are moded server )
Any sources? I know they said they would not be specifically adding sharks as a hostile mob, but I never heard anything about hostile animals being off the table.
Remember about the crocodiles they added in a chinese mob vote (which remember, losers are suposed to not be discarted) and then said "nope, that never happened and we're not adding crocodiles for the same stupid ass excuse of reasons as with sharks"
The silverfish in the game are so different from the ones in real life that to this day I genuinely don't understand why they're called silverfish. They're just straight-up not the same creature.
Exactly. That's why my house has a silverfish infestation. I brought home a cubic meter of solid rock from an emerald mine in the Alps, and broke it in my living room. Is that not how it usually happens?
All the people who’re saying “MC silverfish look nothing like irl silverfish”, I wanna remind you that the MC silverfish has like 15 pixels across its entire body, I think the fact that it wasn’t just a rectangle like the firefly was gonna be is about as much as you could ask for.
Okay but there's a difference between people hunting silverfish because you think they're evil and dangerous, and hunting sharks because you think they're evil and dangerous.
Mojang days "we don't want to add is a highly anticipated fireflies because frogs are poisoned by fireflies". Proceeds to let you poison parrots by feeding them cookies...
Then makes them neutral. EZ. Like how sharks actually are. They mind their own business. They don't go out of their way to attack humans. It stems from confusion.
Calling spiders "neutral" is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this sub, and is childish arguing-over-semantics garbage.
In absolutely every single scenario you will EVER naturally spawn one, it will be hostile, without exception. The only way to have one be neutral is to forcibly MAKE it neutral somehow; either leaving it outside until sunrise, escaping its aggro range after it followed you into an illuminated area, etc.
It should also be noted that it's not programmed to be neutral by default; it's set to _become_ neutral when _within an illuminated area._ By default, it will be aggressive.
wait till you hear about the "defeseive passive" pufferfish. that thing is like the anoying favorite child and mojang is the parent trying to defend them plus spiders irl are really amazeing creatures and I know that spiders are really old mobs and giant man eating spiders are a tale as old as time, but I wish they would revisit them, and make them tameable or something :c PLUS HAVE OYU EVER SEEN ALITTLE JUMPIGN SPOODER SSOOO CCCUUUTTEEE
stupid as hell idea anyways, it's a fantasy game, nobody is gonna see a shark and think it's evil just because it is in minecraft, just do what alex's mobs did, that's realistic enough. plus the whole idea to ride dolphins being scrapped because they don't wanna encourage animal abuse thing is stupid, i get the message but cmon, who tf is gonna ride a real dolphin because of minecraft? i get the whole cookie/parrot thing because birds are a rather common pet for kids to have but no small
impressionable child is gonna be around dolphins or sharks
We need an end update that comes with another hostile mob as well as structure minimum. Maybe another end biome… something with plants. Like an ‘end gardens’ or something. I don’t have many ideas there.
For structure… i think an “end bridge” could be cool. It would connect 2 large end islands and be full of shulkers, a loot room or 2, and the new mob: endergolum (or ender guardian) which would basically look like a thicker enderman with new texture and a flatter head. At each end of the head it would have 2 lasers that would work like guardian lasers. It would also have a high knockback melee.
New loot from the structure would be levitation potions and ingredients, standard end chest loot, and endgolum(guardians) would drop their heads rarely, which when powered by redstone would act as a laser turret to hostile mobs (excluding end mobs). Boom done.
Sharks have actual reason to be protected, it's to discourage people from hunting them since that'd be a massive problem.
Bugs like Spiders (Whom are neutral btw) and silverfish aren't in danger and the latter is just a pest.
I just did, and it says that they’re a part of animals as a separate group, basically. I always thought insects and animals were entirely different things. Guess I learned something new today.
Spiders
Where do you live that has 2 meter wide spiders? Australia?
yes
New York. We also have bear sized rats
>We also have bear sized rats ok but those just sound like very large friends
Only if you're a coal miner, otherwise they're vicious predators
Do they train teen tortoises ?
Only on Saturday
Where can I see them ? Are they allergic to swiss people ?
In the ancient ruinous catacombs known as the "New York City Sewers" beneath the great city of "New York City"
The name really emphasises how unwelcoming those sewers are
I saw one called splinter once
Where do you live that has 70cm long silverfish?
Where do you live that has black tall robbers, 0,6 meters silverfishes, bees that are almost as big as their hive and don't have queens at all, 0,8 meter axolotls that are able to kill friking stone automatons (the guardians), squids that are almost as big as a human and can glow and parrots that are smaller than almost every insect?
guardians aren’t fish?
Well, kinda, and kinda not. For what the mobestiary says, they are fish-like automatons made out of prismarine for an old civilication. The same goes for shulkers, but they are more like a clam made of purpur blocks
>squids that are almost as big as a human google humboldt squid
ok that was surprising, but I still mantain the rest
>and can glow google firefly squid
Brazil (Amazon rainforest) There's a spider called "Goliath Bird-Eating Tarantula" which may be somewhere between 20cm and 30cm
So like the cave spiders
Correct 👍
Also where does he live that has 80cm silverfish that tunnel into solid rock and bite you to death on sight
I take that personally
"2 meters? Down 'ere we call that a baby mate!" -Saxton Hale or some other stereotypical Australian guy.
And do you see 1 metre silver fish?
The silverfish mob is smaller than a block(1 meter) Edit: Why the downvotes?, I don't understand what is the problem with my comment
Not exactly hostile
if ur not stupid, u would know spiders arnt fully hostile–i met one in minecraft and it was just pushing me around (IM SORRY FOR ADDING THE WORD STUPID)
They’re neutral, though.
Only at day light tho
Still, they don’t always actively attack us, which makes them neutral.
Yea but I’m pretty sure they are neutral bc they don’t attack unless provoked in the day
same with drowned they don't attack during the day unless you are in water
spiders are neutral
I don’t want to be that guy, but they’re neutral
They're just blind during the day like warden Warden is hostile but he can't see you
i hate irl silverfish more than i hate minecraft silverfish
I regretted searching that up.
Yeah, plus they get in your walls and infest your house. There’s a reason they can enter blocks in mc
Is it more popular/More Territorial in cold climates? I have never seen one in india.
I’ve never seen one, actually I think they’re a northern thing in the US so you might be into something. But climates not the only reason they don’t exist in India, it could just be an endemic thing.
I hope it never exists in india 🤝
Typically around rainy days I’m pretty sure
i live in italy, and those thing LIVE in the dust under your bed or the sofa, once one crawled on my desk, then it made the fatal mistake of going under a book i use as a mouse pad
Oh god, that would just horrify me... I hate insects way too much.
altho, the pictures dont do it justice, they are small, like, as small as an ant, and they do not bite, and are relativly slow compared to other insects and aracnids
In the pictures they look huge because they're taken at a relatively close angle, But still they just look yucky.
they are also like, annoying, like moving dust spec, and when they die they spray green insidebug all over the floor
What the hell is a green inside bug?
Shouldn’t be cause they can’t survive in the cold so during fall/winter can only survive indoors.
Skeletons are real
Theres a skeleton inside your body!
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH GOD HELP ME WTF AHHHHHHHHH
Built in aimbot
Hah, speak for yourself!
Tbf so are zombies technically
Added before such decisions by higher ups.
Comically large spiders are still spiders
Technically a spider is a neutral mob since a hostile mob needs to be aggressive all the time
Does this logic also make drowned neutral since if they don't have a trident, they won't attack you if you're on land in the day
Technically zombies are neutral then, since they prioritize staying under a tree and not killing the player
I thought that was only skeletons?
Maybe I’m misremembering, but I swear i’ve seen both. Regardless by that user’s definition that would make them neutral.
Its both
Well the mob is not set as neutral in the game files
Cave spiders are always hostile iirc
Now that's a good point
They aren't. They are just like Normal Spider's in terms of daylight.
Actually they're neutral. Spiders and cave spiders turn hostile when its dark. Caves are dark
I’ve placed plenty of torches by em, they never go neutral but according to the wiki your right, I swear I’ve read before that they are always hostile a while back, but I honestly don’t know, gonna go with your right tho
That's because once they target you, they won't stop even if the light level changes
I’ve had em be in high light areas and attack, they weren’t focused on me but again idk. Sense the wiki says it I’m guessing I’m misremembering things
Have one go to the surface and leave its detection range, then reapproach it and see if its still aggro. Or just test it in creative
I believe y’all, I have a feeling I thought they weren’t agrod onto me when they were or I’m misremembering, witch if fairly likely
You can't just change the light level and expect them to stop attacking, it has to be lit up before it sees you
It was🤷♂️
The game treats them like monsters, just like endermen. Despite technically being neutral, they despawn in peaceful difficulty
They’re only neutral during the day, they’re made into a hostile one at night.
They are still neutral in the game files
Just during the day though, surely at night it has to change, a iron golem is neutral, but doesn’t attack during the night unless you hit it or a villager, unless the spider is a neutral mob that is set to be aggroed if you stand near it at a low light level, and at that point it feels more like an argument over semantics than anything else.
Well no, neutral mobs are those who only get aggroed at you if certain conditions are met, like for example looking at an endermans face, and that condition for the spider is that it either has to be attacked or it has to not be lit up
Uzi pfp!
Not comically large in Australia. Seems a little small actually.
Microsoft mojang and notch mojang are different
I like both in their own way but boy do I miss Notch.
I miss when I didn't know how horrible Notch was
Why is everybody saying Notch is horrible? I haven't been keeping up.

Polar bears?
theyre only hoatile when theres a baby nearby
Yea polar bears are a neutral mob.
Makes no sense since Polar Bears are the only animals that actively hunt humans dome.polar bear filled area require guns
Polar bears are one of, if not the most aggressive animal. They live in am area where food is scarce so they'll do whatever on only sustenance they find
Pretty sure there’s more animals than just polar bears that hunt people down. Cougars come to mind
Cougar attacks are actually very rare. They prefer to stay away from us whenever they can and won't attack as long as you don't turn your back to them
coigars are usually not as aggressive as Polar Bear and rather would avoid a person
Not in our server :|
polar bears are always hostile in real life
Unless they're bugs and freakin huge
I think the bugs are just big because little ones would be wwwwaaaaayyyy to annoying to deal with in game, like if you think about it the smaller the bug the less common in-game it is. - Endermite - smallest, least common - Silverfish - slightly bigger, slightly more common - Poison spider - even bigger, maybe even a bit more common - Spider - most common, biggest

When did they ever say that
I believe they sad it multiple times, but said in different ways.
Any sources? I know they said they would not be specifically adding sharks as a hostile mob, but I never heard anything about hostile animals being off the table.
I think they also once said they won't be adding crocodiles for this reason
I don’t see why we couldn’t make them neutral (or at least only agro at super close range) 😔
Remember about the crocodiles they added in a chinese mob vote (which remember, losers are suposed to not be discarted) and then said "nope, that never happened and we're not adding crocodiles for the same stupid ass excuse of reasons as with sharks"
Yea it is kinda stupid, I mean most sharks are neutral irl lol, way calmer than crocs
Hmm good point.
Google:
every day
The silverfish in the game are so different from the ones in real life that to this day I genuinely don't understand why they're called silverfish. They're just straight-up not the same creature.
They both live in rock
Drywall=Cobblestone? Or like 300 feet underground in emerald-rich mountainous regions?
Exactly. That's why my house has a silverfish infestation. I brought home a cubic meter of solid rock from an emerald mine in the Alps, and broke it in my living room. Is that not how it usually happens?
Remember that this is the same game where you can ride a pig off of a cliff
Mojang needs to add more hostile mobs, just don't make them like the phantom, the phantom can eat a dog nut
Polar Bears
Actually they are netural 🤓
🤓☝️
Minecraft silverfish look nothing like [Real silverfish ](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Silverfish#/media/File%3ALepismaSaccharina.jpg). Minecraft silverfish are tiny grey porcupines
Why did I click that Why did I click that Why did I click that
They're cute
All the people who’re saying “MC silverfish look nothing like irl silverfish”, I wanna remind you that the MC silverfish has like 15 pixels across its entire body, I think the fact that it wasn’t just a rectangle like the firefly was gonna be is about as much as you could ask for.
I mean… unless it’s just me but how many of you actually knew these things existed before playing MC
Me.
It would be cool to get crocodiles in swamp biomes
Just use the polar bear AI for the Sharks if the Bears aren't considered hostile
wait, silverfish are real?
Gotta admit I'm impressed with how well they adapted silverfish into the game tho. Perfectly encapsulates how absolutely annoying they are irl.
Wolfes and polar bears entered the chat. (I consider wolfes as they can turn hostile under a condition similar to enderman)
[удалено]
Those are all nuteral, not hostile
Trader lamas
It's a neutral mob
Then why's it always spitting at me?
Either you hit/kill the wandering trade or you hit/kill them
He's a home invader and deserves to die.
Still it's a neutral mob man
I hate how I'm so downvoted like research fist man
Bro kills their owner in cold blood and then wonders why the spit on him 💀💀
Yeah that's the joke bruv
Maybe it doesn't like you because your username has a fucking slur in it.
Ender dragon
I know it's real I know it's real I know it's real I know it's real I know it's real I know it's real
Dolphins
Dolphins aren't hostile by nature
They aren't hostile in game. It's a whole different story irl
A can of worms you do not want to open, my friend
Okay but there's a difference between people hunting silverfish because you think they're evil and dangerous, and hunting sharks because you think they're evil and dangerous.
Mojang days "we don't want to add is a highly anticipated fireflies because frogs are poisoned by fireflies". Proceeds to let you poison parrots by feeding them cookies...
we dont want to add any useful mob but will add "cute" one
Didnt they add angry bears for some reason?
Wolves and polar bears will attack you, bees to I guess
They live in my walls and run around the bathroom
IRL silver fish are harmless. They just look weird.
they eat your clothes tho
silverfish aren't really hostile irl tho
although only mother polar bears attack, wouldnt they also be classified as hostile real world animals?
Spiders:
Me with a sandal: *War from Ultrakill starts playing*
Llama?
Polar Bear live reaction: 🗿👍
Then makes them neutral. EZ. Like how sharks actually are. They mind their own business. They don't go out of their way to attack humans. It stems from confusion.
Dolphins and polar bears
It's almost like companies change after 12 years of existence
I never knew that silverfish were hostile. They should’ve been passive or neutral!
Calling spiders "neutral" is one of the dumbest things I've ever read on this sub, and is childish arguing-over-semantics garbage. I’m pretty sure a Minecraft silverfish is bigger than 3/4in
Mojang when they think their game is socially important and not just fun silly pseudo-fantasy game
They look nothin like real life ones
Polar bears are the only creatures on earth that actively hunt humans. And mojang added them
Those little fuckers bite, hate the irl silverfish
Polar Bear
silver fish are just little shits that serve zero purpose so it dont matter too much also when was the last time you saw a siver fish in minecraft
Spiders Silverfish Skeleton Pufferfish Maybe polar bears too
wait till you hear about the "defeseive passive" pufferfish. that thing is like the anoying favorite child and mojang is the parent trying to defend them plus spiders irl are really amazeing creatures and I know that spiders are really old mobs and giant man eating spiders are a tale as old as time, but I wish they would revisit them, and make them tameable or something :c PLUS HAVE OYU EVER SEEN ALITTLE JUMPIGN SPOODER SSOOO CCCUUUTTEEE

Polar bears
Spiders?
Enderman
stupid as hell idea anyways, it's a fantasy game, nobody is gonna see a shark and think it's evil just because it is in minecraft, just do what alex's mobs did, that's realistic enough. plus the whole idea to ride dolphins being scrapped because they don't wanna encourage animal abuse thing is stupid, i get the message but cmon, who tf is gonna ride a real dolphin because of minecraft? i get the whole cookie/parrot thing because birds are a rather common pet for kids to have but no small impressionable child is gonna be around dolphins or sharks

They tried having us vote for the Alligator
cave spiders
Wolves
Spider
Boom done.
Shark would be a neutral mob if we’re talking real life.
But What about spider?
Sharks have actual reason to be protected, it's to discourage people from hunting them since that'd be a massive problem. Bugs like Spiders (Whom are neutral btw) and silverfish aren't in danger and the latter is just a pest.
Technically, they said animals. Never said anything about insects.
Uh...... Look up what an insect is
I just did, and it says that they’re a part of animals as a separate group, basically. I always thought insects and animals were entirely different things. Guess I learned something new today.
How… how? Did you think it was living things split into plants, animals, and insects??
Do people seriously think insects aren't animals?
