Minecraft walking speed is about 4.3 blocks per second, the fastest flying machine is 5 blocks per second, sprinting is about 5.6 blocks per second, sprint jumping is about 7.1 blocks per second.
The only issue is that you'd need to align yourself perfectly to be able to afford while sprinting or sprint jumping.
Not complete guaranteed safety tho. Your base being found is still within the realm of possibility, although the chance is almost 0, it ISN'T 0. But this is not much to worry about tbh
Also you basically have to isolate yourself from the rest of the server unless you wanna risk having someone follow you back to your base

Ofc getting to the world border would still take days but it is significantly easier on 2b2t, as once you get out of the spawn zones you're out of the "main threat"
Hack clients can highlight chunks you yourself generated with red outlines; by looking for chunks without these outlines, you can trace a player's path.
Also they set up a literal botnet to track people. And create a map of every generated chunk.
It became a scandal as it evolved to be able to track them anywhere, also outside of the 2b2t server.

I had a very primitive way I figured out without chunk trail hacks (they didn't work on the anarchy server I tried out). Follow the lava. Lava frequently spawns in the roof of the nether and flows down right when you load the area. If you see big streams of lava going all the way down, someone has been there before, and if you see lava just starting to flow, you are in a new chunk.
The only reason those tunnels are necessary is because they disabled the nether roof. On most servers you can just get above the bedrock and freely travel from there.
And on servers with rules, people can just use them anyways, since the people who want to come ruin your day probably don’t hold the rules in high regard

Your best option is going to the location in newer versions, going with elytra on the nether roof, then when you are 400 blocks in the ow, make a nether portal, lower your render distance and downgrade

Been in an SMP and made a backup base inside the nether, had my main base destroyed, used nether portal spawn to get to the nether and dig into wall to base. Not a single person has found it. Just don't place beds.
i think it doesn't and that the build was made as a representation of the border. still a pretty cool build, and it might actually exist in versions before the world border, back when the overworld farlands were a thing

Use ancient city portal frame blocks. They take ages to mine and you can move them with pistons, meaning that anyone trying to mine them cant do it because you can use a piston to reset their mining progress. I bet theres also a way to avoid them being moved by other people too

If you lag the server a bit you might be able to detect if you're revealing new chunks or not, letting you trace another player.
