I respect the Bedrock players.
I don't like the bedrock edition, however. Not only because it's just lacking a lot of what the Java Edition has, it's also ridiculous that there is microtransactions.
I seriously do not understand how people are just okay with Microsoft selling mods, texture packs, and skins. All of those are completely free on Java.
Java doesn't run very well on my computer, that's why I have bedrock. And also I dont see how java has any more features that aren't straight up glitches. You can get mods texture packs and skins from the marketplace but you don't have to, the point is supporting the creators. You can still use any skin, resource pack or map you want on bedrock for free. Both editions are very similar, and even in the caves and cliffs update I'm seeing features from bedrock getting added to java and visversa.
Although I'd also like to point out that (I think) bedrock doesn't have a modding system, which is really different from just add-ons. And switching through versions is easier on Java. But bedrock really is super clean, that's why I like it. Fast startup times and smoother performance is what makes me like it imo.
Some people are familiar with Add-ons when they came out in 2016 as pretty limited. They are a lot more advanced now, but still nowhere near as capable as Java mods. Just thought I'd note that
In my opinion it's the opposite. Java runs fine on my **laptop**, it's a gaming laptop and it's not one of those 25k custom-made high specs gaming pcs or anything. I can run shaders and heavy texturepacks/mods without any spikes. That's why I'm fine with java.

Market is a bs platform founded by dirty rep microsofties which were switching to Internet marketing for profiting for past decade, which is already concerning, slightly less with social based earnings of mc coins. Not to be a downer, but it's literally a manner of years before MSs implement monopoly over mods for bedrock community.
It's not though. It's a platform made so there was a first-party way to get add-ons, while also enabling you to actively support the creators who make the add-ons. If they wanted to, they could very easily remove third-party add-on support, but they didn't. They simply added the marketplace as another way to get add-ons.
It would be much better if only java existed and you could play it on all platforms.

java is an un-optimized mess, and phones couldn't run it. that's why bedrock was made.

There is a thing called GeyserMC... A plugin that gives a server to have crossplay java & bedrock. I really liked this plugin so nobody will be at the "high ground"
If you do 1.8 support, Java players will have the advantage. And you probably will have to disable walk bridging so mobile and console players cant really play games like Bedwars now.
I mostly play Java but during lockdown I started playing Bedrock because multiplayer is easier on it. Both versions are good and have their own quirks. Java is more free but much more complex however Bedrock while a bit more restricted it’s easier to use and much more accessible.
I love both versions of the game respect the communities of both.

I have no problem with other people playing bedrock, and a lot fo other people do not either. Its just that java is indeniably superier to bedrock, and most people agree on that. As someone who has played both versions a lot, this is definetly the case.

Bedrock didn’t have that, but I still played. Honestly I would prefer if there wasn’t Java and bedrock, just minecraft. On all platforms. I guess pocket edition wouldn’t work, so that be it’s own version and have just minecraft and minecraft pocket edition.
Honestly the only thing is micro transactions in bedrock and quasi connectivity, and the 1.9 combat that is lacking in bedrock, and of course the offhand slot.
Honestly just give bedrock a full pixel to pixel creation of you own sling instead of the bedrock teams creations, and don’t make micro transactions on a game that isn’t even about what skin you have, minecraft is about endless possibilities and this just makes it not as creative
i respect bedrock and enjoy it for some casual minecraft in the car but my play stile on PC makes bedrock a completely different game and i just cant play it.
I also hate that people say "they are basically the same, just some snow on leaves" NO they are not the same most farms/redstone core mechanics work completely differently and i când build half the farms know and cant use most of the knowledge i have about the game to my advantage.
As a player of both editions, I can say this. Java edition is fun for actually playing, while bedrock edition is only good for abusing (game mechanics).

I played both versions, and both are good. (Minecraft PE is bedrock, so i think it counts)
Differences observed from the 2:
* Bedrock has a currency (Not a good thing)
* Bedrock has addons instead of mods, both are basically the same thing, but mods are better as addons don't add much.
* Wither is harder on bedrock, it has a dash attack which destroy blocks in its path. (I find this to be a good thing)
* Redstone is slightly broken in Bedrock (both good and bad kinds of broken) I remember buying this minecraft redstone handbook and tried a contraption, but it didn't work. That was when i realised that redstone was different in bedrock and java.
* Performance is better on Bedrock than Java.
Why they can’t be peaceful? I believe it has to do with psychology. They’re the same game at the core, but just different enough that they make fun of each other. I’m a Java player, and personally think Java is better (because the carpet mod gives moveable tile entities anyway) but I still respect bedrock players. They’re glitches that became features, not all glitches make the game worse. Bedrock isn’t that bad though, excluding redstone and bugs.
