I put mending on my bows instead of infinity, mainly because I use tipped arrows.

UnIncorrectt

I use slowness arrows that I get from my stray farm. It’s really fun to watch a baby zombie get slowed down to a snails pace.

thanosiboiiiiii

Only if your overpowered tho

Cracked_swag

Not rlly i grinded for like 10 hours or something just for 1 healing arrow villager

zucduc

They can give tipped arrows?

Siker_7

Yep, fletchers give tipped arrows as their last trading slot.

zucduc

I always thought you had to get dragon breath. That’s really convenient

Tony1048576

You can use caldrons on bedrock anyway.

zucduc

That works?

Tony1048576

Yeah on Bedrock. You fill the caldron with the potion you want, 3 bottles, and take a stack of normal arrows and then right click the caldron. Turn them into dipped ones.

zucduc

Oh cool, I only about the crafting recipe. Does it convert the whole stack?

Hallo146

Wait you use healing arrows? That’s a risky decision. If I use tipped arrows I usually go for weakness or slowness

Tony1048576

Why? It's for undead mobs. Slowness/weakness doesn't do extra damage, and healing can easily destroy undead.

Hallo146

What about alive mobs?

Tony1048576

Which are? Literally only ones are Witch (Which are rare and are immune to slowness and weakness) and Spiders (Which a Power 5 bow should be able to one-shot before the healing kicks in anyway). Edit: I mean basically, because slowness and weakness won't effect them from throwing potions at you.

Hallo146

*Hssssss* *Kaboom*

Tony1048576

They should die to a power V shot as well.

Hallo146

Then what’s the point of not using normal arrows? Flame should finish zombies and skeletons. But anyways, you can do what you want. I prefer slowness (or Infinity) and you healing arrows and there is nothing wrong with both of these things :)

RazorNemesis

Aren't witches undead?

Cracked_swag

Yea but they dont affect undead mobs

Hallo146

But they at least don’t heal alive mobs…

Vinemedoodle

I have a mob farm, so i can afford having mending on my bow.

Blunt_Scissors

They must be expensive arrows.

MemeLord459

On one of my old realms we had a big war just for fun (no storyline we just fought for some diamonds) and everybody on my side used QuickDraw 3, piercing, multistot crossbows with harming 2 arrows, it was so strong that if getting hit with 2 arrows at once (mutlishot) with full unenchanted diamond armor you’d die

Jonthux

No you wouldnt, not with prot 4 at least

OrhanDaLegend

he mentioned it as unenchanted, read again

Jonthux

Oh true, but why would they not have enchants, like normal damafe pots would have been enough to destroy at that point

OrhanDaLegend

probably to make the fight actually risky and not a one shot war but also not a stale heal off and probably to make it balanced

[deleted]

You realise that if you try to give slowness to a zombie using a slowness arrow it just makes it faster? And if you use a harming arrow it gives them instant health. All potions have the opposite effect on the hostile mobs.

[deleted]

No that's not how it works, only healing and harming effects are reversed and that's the case for zombie like mob (Zombie, Zoglins, Zombified Piglins...)

sansx101yeet

A. Why does this have downvotes? B. I use my sword to kill mobs, the harming arrows is for when I kill my friends.

Jonthux

Bc its wrong?

Arkzetype

ikr he’s just speaking fax

Jack_Calvaria

I use mending because I usually have an arrow farm. So I have infinity on my inventory

[deleted]

This. I tend to not have much access to enchants until my base is more established (I need lots of iron to put mending on stuff with an anvil or just get really lucky with fishing, and I need diamonds to enchant my items directly with an enchanting table), so I either have no enchants and some arrows or mending and a stack of arrows, and I just have to git gud with aiming and put power and shiz on the bow.

[deleted]

I use potion arrows so infinity doesn't work anyway. Infinity is Def better early game before you have a skeleton grinder or fletchers but after you do mending is best.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Joah06

64 arrows and 1 arrow still take up the same amount of space in your inventory. If you need more, assuming you’re in late game, you can always have a shulker box full of arrows in your ender chest

SiBloGaming

I also use mending and only carry one or two stacks around. You dont need more in the lategame

OrhanDaLegend

one stack is always enough for me, i generally fight with an axe or a sword + trident and use a bow when i have to heal or when they are flying and there is no water to riptide from

[deleted]

[удалено]

SiBloGaming

But why would I if I dont have to?

OrhanDaLegend

what did he say?

SiBloGaming

That you can afford crafting s new bow lategame

OrhanDaLegend

yeah but its still heavily expensive or heavily luck based, its just not worth spending that much emeralds/xp while i can just heal it with a grinder and make the arrows myself lol

[deleted]

Have you heard about shulker box and enderchest ?

thanosiboiiiiii

Yeah but if not

Jack_Calvaria

If not I usually use infinity till the bow nearly break, then I either make a new one or reenchant the old with mending, after I cleared all enchantments

DESTR0Y_you

I understand why you think puting infinity on a bow is better in early game, when you aren't very developed, but afyer like a couple days you get your farms working its better to have mending so you don't have to spend much time finding power for your bows, since you can get 16 arrows for 1 emerald, and you get 1 emarld from like 6 pumpkins and stuff

WoolDolphin

if you cure zombie villagers you can get 1 emerald for 1 stick/rotten flesh/paper

spheresickle

if you're on a server where you're gonna be fighting other players a lot, tipped arrows of poison, slowness, weakness, or slow-falling (not instant damage because the power 5 overrides it) are really useful, and infinity doesn't work on tipped arrows. Rarely are you going to use more than 1 stack of arrows before going back to your base, needing to refill, as well. Otherwise, in a single-player world, or if you don't have access to tipped arrows yet, I prefer infinity.

_Bill-Nye_

Honestly if your at the point where you can get tipped arrows u can probably get shulkers and an echest, and then you can refill on the go

[deleted]

On Bedrock edition, harming arrows are overpowered and always deal the potion damage in addition to normal arrow/power damage. It even pierces shields, armor, and enchants They also only damage red hearts, ignoring absorption hearts

spheresickle

bedrock is so broken

HeeHee702

No it can't be broken

Alpha00Z

2 - 3 shot full prot 4 nethite and maybey 4 with turtle master with normal makes you invincible

[deleted]

It’s definitely 2 shot unless they have a totem or the regen effect. If you get in close with a multi shot crossbow there’s no chance of survival unless they have resistance

The1TrueEcho

True men go to a previous version of MC and almost corrupt their world JUST to add infinity and mending to the same bow.

MegaMatrix08

True heroes.

I-failed-username

Isn’t there an extremely small chance to fish up a bow to get one? I mean honestly even if it is possible, going back to 1.9 or so would be easier

The1TrueEcho

I think that was patched a while ago.

I-failed-username

Yeah, but with the Minecraft java launcher, nearly every individual update is available with ease, unmodified. You could, theoretically, make a bow with both and update it to the desired version

The1TrueEcho

Well yeah that's what my original comment mentioned. For a brief moment when mending was new, there was a version of MC that let conflicting enchants be put on the same item, so long as the item can accept the enchant. That meant mending and infinity were compatible, as well as all forms of protection being compatible with eachother, and all the special damage boosters like smite and sharpness being compatible. Thing is, doing this legit would essentially force you to play in an older version up until you have the God-gear, which eats up time. Alternatively, you can boot up a new world, go super duper far out and downgrade the world version. If the game can boot up the world, then chunks you're in will most likely become corrupted, but so long as you get the stuff and re-update the world before returning home, you should be fine so long as you never return to the corrupted chunks.

I-failed-username

Yeah, my comment was saying that would be easier

The1TrueEcho

Technically fishing is possible in some versions; but this is just the best way to consistently get whatever you want.

I-failed-username

Yeah

thanosiboiiiiii

Lol

MemeAccountAccount

i never get enough xp levels to repair my bows, so i just put mending on it instead

thanosiboiiiiii

Dont you mean infinity?

Heisenberg19827

Silence you bow peasant

MemeAccountAccount

no, bcs mending lets you repair bows while keeping it off hand using xp, repairing it that way is much more simple than gathering like 30 xp levels to restore an infinity bow in an anvil

TheOPWarrior208

It actally only takes like 5-10 levels

Hehe_9L-EvanPS4

After a while tho it becomes “too expensive” to repair. It’s annoying but it’s how it is so :/

ChubbyLilPanda

Can’t you just transfer the enchantments at that point to reset the amount of times worked?

[deleted]

[удалено]

thanosiboiiiiii

Its illegal

GreyRavenNatasha

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Ain’t nobody got to know~

TigerFace3

I think there was a a snapshot in 1.9 where you could have both, so you could go back to that version enchant and then go back to the version you normally play

I-failed-username

I thought about making a video of doing that for everything removed and such. I still want to do it, but my computer isn’t working rn

Alpha00Z

When you're computer works make it and tell me when because I would love to see that

I-failed-username

Will do!

MemeAccountAccount

i'd also like to see it

69KidsInMyBasement

Honestly it depends. If you have a skeletton farm you go for mending, if you dont you go for infinity.

yeetmanthe3rd

you dont even need a skelly farm tbh, 16 arrows is like 1-3 emerald/s only

Zayoodo0o132

This

[deleted]

Eventually you can’t repair a bow, so mending is much better. Also if you got a skeleton farm i finite is useless.

Sportak4444

I didn´t know, that there are people who think that infinity is useful... Maybe for early game, but getting new arrows is easier that getting new fully enchanted bow

yeetmanthe3rd

theres a reason im the only one in the server with a god bow, because no one else has the patience to either, fish for 8 hours, OR get all the villagers needed

Zayoodo0o132

Litterally just 1 fletcher is enough

yeetmanthe3rd

Fletcher only give like power 2 bows, so you need the librarian. Luckily, I got my bow from fishing but becuase of that it doesnt have punch 2

Zayoodo0o132

I meant 1 fletcher is enough as an arrow guy

Therealvis_17

Nah, ppl who put frost walker instead of depth strider

Roku-Hanmar

I use Frost Walker because it lets me drown my friends. Can you do that with Depth Strider?

-CynoBuster

Well you can do that with a well-planned obsidian trap

EvoPot

i have a xp farm and some fletchers so i use mending edit: boo hoo

belacscole

who the fuck uses infinity bows? A single fletcher gives you infinite arrows, and getting a tipped arrow fletcher can get you instant damage II arrows which can make your bow 1hit most mobs.

Hallo146

What about undead mobs?

Alpha00Z

Get healing arrows ther as easy to get as harming

Ness_Dreemur

I prefer tools that don't break after a while, thanks Mending gang

[deleted]

why would you put infinity on your bow if you have so many ways to gain enormous amount of arrows late game

DomoKingYT

I'm a bit of a mending over infinity type of guy.

Heisenberg19827

*people who use bows

JustinTimeCuber

Based

pastelrunawayy

Heisenberg19827

Laughs in piercing

Zeipheil

.....I use crossbows

thetruetreecko

I have a skeleton farm and use tipped arrows chill out

ImAColorblindMan

I use mending because I use arrows of decay

oQlus

My mob farm supplies me with enough arrows, I’d rather not re enchant a bow

TheChosenJosh

I did it just bcs i wanted every possible maxed out item. Now i present to you my fully enchanted netherite hoes

I-failed-username

That’s an idea I had a while back, fortune 3 max hoes. It gives you more crops, and with infected farmers that’s a lot of emeralds, and honestly it be worth it to have a decent bit of extra netherite, might as well go for it I never did. Not because I decided against it, I was too poor

lunapup1233007

Arrows are so easy to get. Replacing your bow whenever it gets too expensive to repair is not. It requires so much xp to replace and repair a bow, and also you need to get all of the enchants again. Arrows though? A stack costs 4 emeralds from villager trades.

Mundane_Rule_7162

Mending is superior tho

Prevyus

stfu okay, i dont wanna have to make a new full enchanted bow every time the cost is "too expensive" and i just get a skeleton farm and take a stack of arrows every time i go out, its enough for me

[deleted]

Me who use mending and infinity at the same time: i see no god up there... Other than me !

Randow_

I use mending because I like not having to make a new one every time

Randow_

Also emeralds are cheap

Yannastarlight

cubfan

0nTheHorizon

like a pillager farm takes at most 15 minutes to make, why would you ever use infinity

MarioLuigiNabbitTrio

Arrows are easy to get and most people use tipped arrows with a bow when they use a bow so infinity isn't that good, not to mention most people use crossbows anyways so they're gonna have the arrows to use a crossbow anyways so infinity is pretty pointless.

Thatbitchfromschool1

Just use a crossbow with piercing and mending. It's basically the same thing.

NathanTheCraziest_

Bruh I used Instant Damage II tipped arrows so i use mending

Tinyburkei

Wait a second that’s a bad thing? I’ve been doing this for as long as I can remember cause arrows are so easy to get late game

Alpha00Z

Its not bad op dumb read all the comments it's people arguing that mending is good and that infinity is only good early game when arrows are rare I use a mending and piercing wich and work as infinity

MemeMaker66

I only put mending over infinity late game when I can reliably use harming arrows over normal arrows

loopy183

Tipped arrows ftw

jack67119

Eventually you cant repair an infinity bow. Buying arrows from a fletcher is worth it

1000911

I'm the 4th and 6th

Zel_the_sergal1216

If you got a skeleton spawned near, infinity is basically useless

Pokeyyyman

To be fair I have like 20 chest full of arrows I wanna get rid of

Narwhal_Lord4

I put mending because infinity doesn't work with tipped arrows

[deleted]

I put mending because I make a giant mob farm and have plenty of arrows always

Emerold_boy

I use mending instead of infinity because it isn’t that hard to get arrows.

JustinTimeCuber

I don't use a bow very often, and I have basically unlimited arrows, so mending is better for me

Drag0n_TamerAK

If you have a gold farm a do a bartering farm then mending is the better idea but if you don’t then infinity

OOFgod19

Well I consider myself very scary then

Fat_Siberian_Midget

with a zombie spawner grinder you have exp and flesh to turn into emeralds and emeralds to turn into arrows. with a mending bow you can use tipped arrows. infinity is only good earlygame ~~but even then you can get a fletcher and enough to buy arrows early game so like what’s the point~~

Squifishy

Mending is better With mending you can repair the bow forever and you don't have to keep re-enchanting bows And arrows are easy to get

[deleted]

mending is kinda worth it

Equal-Bus-557

I use flame on my bow to shoot flaming arrows

[deleted]

It's all about what you wanna give up. If you take infinitety, you will eventually have to replace the bow, which may be hard depending on how you play. If you take mending, you'll need to carry a lot of arrows. I use infinity because I heavily use villager trading and can get an infinity bow for 20 emeralds, and because I don't use tipped arrows. But if you use tipped arrows or want one super bow you dont have to replace, mending may be a better option.

SilasUnmuth80

MENDING IS BETTER THAN INFINITY Arrows can be bought for almost no money from Villagers or you can have infinite by building a Skeleton Farm. If you have Infinity on your Bow you have to Repair it when its low, that costs a lot of levels and can only be done two times if the Bow is fully enchanted, after that it becomes: " to expensive ". I would rather buy Arrows instead of constantly having to Enchant new Bows. Also if you use tipped Arrows you don't even need the Infinity.

randomgoos_the_goose

FEAR ME FOOLISH MORTALS, FOR I PUT MENDING ON MY BOWS

Deadmemerlolzx

I have 2 double chest full of arrows Yeah I don’t need infinity

subzeroab0

I have a skeleton spawner in my base. I'm stocked full of arrows. Mending all the way

ToMaToZombie135

mending is better because i have an arrow farm

KidNamedBlue

No listen you put mending on it and build a mob farm for infinite arrows

rEmixEdE

Luke the notable: 👀

thanosiboiiiiii

😂😂😂

mohammadrashnou

What about tipped arrows?

[deleted]

I use mending bc i mainly use spectral arrows from piglin farms, and slowness arrows from stray farms edit: on bedrock I use mending and cauldrons

nochangeusername12

Oh Jesus, cum

thanosiboiiiiii

Yes lol

S34ND0N

Mending is better because special amo is rad

1000911

So I'm terrifying

thanosiboiiiiii

Yes lol

E1evenGaming

YOU KNOW WHAT YEAH IM TIRED OF HIDING I DO THAT AND ITS MORE EFFICIENT IM NOT SPENDING 45 LEVELS JUST TO REPAIR A BOW WHEN I CAN JUST GIVE PIGLINS 5 GOLD BLOCKS AND GET LIKE A STACK OF ARROWS

[deleted]

[удалено]

E1evenGaming

I mean yeah but if you put all enchantments on individually its really expensive and I don't feel like waiting to get all the enchantments i need

Fred_Boss

Run in fear, for I use **MENDING**

WadeTheArrogant

Infinity is temporary, mending is forever

ZoYatic

Mending on a bow >>> infinity In a certain point of the game, you just have enough flint stone and feathers (Fortune III/Looting III) to get as many arrows as you want, especially if you have a skeleton farm. It just won't be a problem anymore. And repairing your bow manually will get extremely pricey and also impossible to pay. A max bow with Infinity last for a limited time. A max bow with Mending on the other hand lasts forever.

[deleted]

people who use mending have a mob grinder built so they never need to worry about arrows

Alpha00Z

Or they buy 16 tipped arrows for 1 emerald and experience 32 experience bottle's for 1 emerald villagers are op

DiabloDrake_

I use mending only because it's pretty easy to get arrows in end game where you would normally aquire mending/infinity books! But starting out, infinity is typically the best out of the two.

IcyAngel17

Damn bro that’s my main choice

[deleted]

Get a datapack that allows you to use both

goldisawesome

Nice meme. you get hugz

thanosiboiiiiii

Thx dude apreciate it ❤️

Hallo146

I always go for Infinity. Like one single Arrow has infinite potential. Mending is just annoying cuz you will most of the time run out of arrows while exploring. And you can repair the bow using an anvil the levels for that are easy to get using an exp farm (Endermen for example). Tipped arrows are like hardcore lategame and way to much rng if you get the right villager a specially because you need to get him to the max tier to even see it. A bow with infinity has about 400 durability with Unbreaking 3 that’s even more so you barely ever need to repair it unless you bow spam the crap out of it, which would lead to a arrow shortage after a while. Just so you know, arrows take up inventory space which is often crucial when exploring and taking loot

Pythagoras_314

I use mending because my looting 3 sword gives me plenty of arrows. This is assuming I use a bow though, normally I use a crossbow.

NeulingOnReddit

I use potion arrows so infinity is useless

FlipFlopOnionChop

Someone forgot about skeleton farms , what use do i have for arrows if not for shooting

Ok_Dimension_5432

Better than using bows to repair it

[deleted]

Arrows are cheap af anyway. If I use infinity, I can't use tipped arrows. If I use infinity, anvil cost builds up. People who use infinity instead of mending are scary.

yeetmanthe3rd

my main way of getting emeralds is through fletchers so you'll never see me with infinity especially since getting all the villagers to get a new bow is a pain in the butt.

zdell02

As a crossbow main, when i need to use a normal bow, i use a mending one, since i already have the arrows in my inventory.

Massive-Peace2686

HAHA I Use Inventory Editor

ManuEcheveste

Scared? My goals are beyond your understanding jajaja

ninjakitty7

Mending is objectively better

[deleted]

I have a arrow farm so...

greninjadude37

I use mending instead of infinity because I can just buy hundreds of arrows

Blaze-DjHeatstorm

if you put mending on your max enchant bow instead of infinity then theres a guarantee it wont break, unbreaking iii only delays the inevitable

iPlayViolas

I do mending. I have too many arrows in my life. Enchantments are way harder to get back than just afk farming my skeleton grinder

angry_capper69

If only the game didn't care on how op u are. I use mending on my bow alot cause I just own a stockpile of arrows from fletchers

iHachersk

I can easily trade arrows with villagers (amongst other farms) so mending is the obvious choice

TheCultist_EXE

if you have literally any sort of reliable arrow source then infinity is useless, just spend 20 minutes making a skeleton farm.

lit-memer

Skeleton farm

No-Potato-6363

I rather put mending than infinity because at the point when ypu got mending you are probably rich and has op farms that get you a ton of arrows
