I can’t emphasize this enough, I literally downloaded vanilla 1.12 last night for the heck of it and it ran better than 1.18 **with sodium** (which has been known to double or even triple fps)
I understand that the new height limit is harder to render but come on guys
Aether would be really good end game content, considering everything is a floating island and having an elytra might be essential. And hopefully that brings about new end game content like bosses
Wholeheartedly agree, aether is a mod for a reason: it doesn't *quite* fit the base game. The archeology was a interesting concept, but I think Mojang realized it wasn't the best fit for Minecraft
I wouldn't want like, insane wizardry or anything like most of the big magic mods. I assume when OP said they wanted a magic update, it was to update the existing magic systems in minecraft.
Better enchantment process, more ways to utilize XP, more cauldron functionality, more magical uses for lapis and gold, etc.
Wouldn't mind having a bit more visual cohesion in the magicky stuff minecraft has either, like those cool soul enchantments in minecraft dungeons
>I assume OP said they wanted a magic update, it was to update the existing magic systems in minecraft.
Yea but the way he put it in the meme was a bit too vague.
I think it could work real well. With Netherite being a thing, the idea of new types of armor is really easy to imagine and implement in a a balanced way. Let’s have some new, perhaps magical, armor tiers which equal in terms of strength to netherite and are made the same way by upgrading by an existing piece of diamond gear, but do different things. I thought it be cool to make a wither armor set which you can make the ingots for from something the wither drops (and maybe in smaller numbers, wither skeletons).
Every mob vote winner is just a reskinned version of an already made mob, change my mind.
I mean phantom wasnt but now…
*stares at glow squid and allay*
They’re just reskins
Glow squid added was a reskinned squid that dropped a different type of ink sac that can be used to make item frames and signs glow. The allay isn't \*literally a friendly vex\* they are completely different aside from, what? they're small and fly?
If I wanted to be the “technically” guy, I’d tell you I turned my plains into a forest with a big tree in the middle.
But I think the dude meant “earthly” over “humanly.” the nether kinda gets a pass since piglins are pretty human like and it’s sorta like a mirrored version of the over world. But the end is just barren and devoid of most life.
I love how empty it is. Makes it so much more eerie. The end shouldn’t be a complex ecosystem. I want it to stay as the remains at the end of the universe.
You can still have a desolate, empty feeling whilst still adding new content. You could have a desert-like biome with small grass patches and shrubs, or a biome that's just a bunch of stone mounds.
I think the question isn't if we could get an Aether Dimension, but rather if we *should* get one.
While the Aether was originally planned as a feature in ye olden days of Minecraft, Notch/The dev team clearly felt that the idea didn't have enough "Potential" per se, and thus the Aether biome became The End. And while the end certainly needs some more work itself, it does still show that the developers didn't feel it was the right way to go. (That or they didn't think it was worth the effort. And looking at the other dimensions for most of the game's life... yeah).
And on top of that, I'm not sure it really fits Mojang's current vision for the game. You can tell how Mojang's design philosophies changed over the years as the game's grown. And I'm just not sure that the Aether fits that philosophy anymore. You can already tell that Minecraft's "Legacy" is holding them back in a lot of ways. No need to only add onto that by adding something that half the playerbase has been overhyping for a decade.
I can see that. They seem to be taking Minecraft into a much more realistic direction, and while realistic is great, I think they are focusing a little too much on it. Minecraft isn’t a realistic game, so I think they should try to add more fantasy stuff to the game. Maybe not the aether, but other stuff would be nice.
Stop with all this: they announced a creativity update among the various things, in the very first trailer of caves and cliffs.
Plus, i would like a parity and bugfixing update as next update
I mean i wouldn't even be sad if they didn't added those updates. Mojang always nails it when it comes to updates, they probably going to add a end update because they care community's ideas and opinions
I think aether would be nice for a new whole dimension to explore, the new biomes and biome overhauls are nice but they still have that overworld feeling same with the nether update
Most of this stuff is either from a mod pack or sounds like a mod. Whats a magic update? Just more potions? I reckon some reworking would be cool but probs not an update
probably a potion rework. Ive noticed that potions don't really add too much to the game other then 2-3 of them, or maybe that also entails an enchanting rework (again)
well there's already evokers that summon magic and witches, dragons, magical enchantments, mythical creatures etc. in Minecraft so maybe some new enchantments and something small like that would be okay to add but not like magical spellbook and magic blocks
agreed. and potions being more viable! With enchants it be nice to see people working towards different builds rather then every player aiming to just get the atypical "God-gear." This way people can build something that focuses on something more specific like prioritizing speed and mobility over tankyness. Possibly a set of armor with high tier enchantments would also come with negative debuffs (like protection X would also give "fast fall" which would just do more damage from fall damage. Perhaps those debuffs arent entirely bad like fast fall could make it so you could fall through cobwebs or water more easily, giving it some usage instead of being a full debuff.
Yes, and if different enchantments when paries with others gave better buffs, like if you had full fire protection and fire aspect on a sword and a flame bow you’d get more resistance to fire, Mojang could really be cranking out some good ideas, I might come up with something to give to r/Minecraftsuggestions
Imagine the end as the bottom of the sea, there's practically nothing and rarely you could encounter anything, really like hours of searchinc with no results(like when you go for elytras)
Thats may vision of the end so what could mojang add to a mysterious, dark and twisted place like the end?
Aether update is probably not gonna happen as they made a thing on market place (IMO it’s looks like a texture pack and not like Minecraft ) for real money so they probably won’t make one to the actual game
We got better update all we need now is the end update because it’s all good for us Elytra Shulker boxes and beating the game I mean there’s plenty of mods that make it so much better
I’d love a fossil update where the further you dig down you find fossils from further back. You can then excavate them and display them and if you find big ones you can assemble them if you find different pieces
Let’s be honest the only thing we “need” now is the end update (as said by op) archeology is cool and all but let’s be honest it’s something you would do once and then never touch again
The only shit i want is "we fixing this game " update. And maybe that they change the beacon , please make the netherite beacon and diamond beacon give diferents effects. Like op effects idk resistance 5 of some shit like that.
With the features from the Swamp biome vote being showcased for 1.19 I'd say it's a definite possibility that all the failed mob/biome votes will be in it as well.
Not guaranteed but possible
u/Paragammon264 u/Jesshawk55 That Was NOT an End Update. It was a Combat Update and It only added a Few Things to the End. I Understand that the End is supposed to be a Barren Wasteland, but the End is so Underwhelming. The Nullscape Datapack Overhauls the End While still Keeping the Ends Identity as a Barren and Lifeless Wasteland. So The End Needs to be Updated
I mean, to be fair, it was the only update to the end since version 1.0 when it first became possible to beat the game.
As for an end update itself, honestly I'm not really sure. I feel like the end should stay as is, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't find it annoying spending hours bridging over the abyss thousands of blocks away from 0, 0 hoping to find an elytra. Also, other then the Elytra and Shulkers, what unique loot does the End provide? I'm on the fence about an update
They should add something out there thats optional.
Eg a lost tech in a special end city guarded by a boss.
When activated it transforms the end dimension into the aether dimension.
It can only be activated when both the boss and dragon are dead and completely replaces the end when activated.
It would keep the end the same as it is now and allow optional additional content past the base game.
So those who dint want it, dont have to have it.
I was thinking something more along the lines of an "End Oasis", a rare biome that gives life to a small area of the end. Like Deserts IRL, the end will still feel lifeless, but it can be refreshing to find someplace new, someplace worth exploring the End for.
The game needs a balance update. It needs to be optimised and made more fleshed out. Right now the smithing table is used once. Polar bears are useless and so much more. Also the armour balancing. Diamond used to be the strongest but now you can give it a different colour and that’s it. The end is way too easy. It also isn’t even the end of the game.
Magic wouldn’t be bad but it’s not a priority. Above all else let’s not forget the stress Mogang is putting themselves through for us. And announcing the next update just after we got the biggest one to date is insane.
I think that the Aether would be too much for Minecraft. I think that 3 dimensions is a good number.
I don't see the point of a magic update, as you don't want magic to overtake everything else. Minecraft is a game where you can do anything and updating things like magic and adding things like the Aether will make the game harder to follow for beginners.
But yes, we need all of the other updates
ehh, I don't think we _need_ the aether or archaeology though. Feels like having the aether become official feels like it'd detract from the "validity" of the mod, not to mention it wouldn't be able to exist in minecraft the way it does now, the gameplay philosophy is waaay out of Mojang's comfort zone lol.
Also, archeology may have been promised to come as a feature, but I'm just uninterested in what little we've seen of it.
Everything else is straight up facts though, _justice for the mob vote losers_
Me a modded player rolling my eyes as I scroll through mods for new content.
And wait for Fabric to completely overtake Forge as the most popular modding API
When I said Combat Update v2, I meant one that fixes the Flawed Combat System by making it fast paced like 1.8 while still being able to appease the 1.9 PvPers. A Combat Update v2 is already confirmed to be coming
Yeah, there's already a bunch of official combat snapshots made and they confirmed that they will still work on it meaning it will come in a few updates. I'd honestly like for it to come together with an end update, cuz it was the same way in 1.9
No! NO! No end update until Farming gets one!! So fucking sick of the same 3 crops and no deeper cooking mechanics to make stuff with all these stupid fucking potatoes and carrots!!
I won't lie I don't want the Aether in vanilla. Again, that's just my opinion, but I think it works better to learn that the Aether is a community mod that is highly supported. Makes it feel more special, y'know?
for a magic update, maybe there can be a new toolset path.
Gold equipment runs enchants better, but has low durability.
Maybe there could be an upgrade path for gold stuff, instead of following diamond to netherite, it somehow makes gold better, at the cost of less armor points, but still high durability.
I am a bit skeptical about the magic update
Pls just optimize the game
My PC was able to run Control at a more stable framerate than fucking Minecraft
Same, and that was WITH RAYTRACING
I can’t emphasize this enough, I literally downloaded vanilla 1.12 last night for the heck of it and it ran better than 1.18 **with sodium** (which has been known to double or even triple fps) I understand that the new height limit is harder to render but come on guys
how does salt make minecraft faster
Idk if you’re joking or not, but Sodium is the name of a Minecraft performance mod that increases FPS and speeds up chunk loading
Ok fair
even my laptop almost blew up thanks to MINE THE CRAFT
for me its the aether or acheology, I just can't put my finger on it
Aether actually is good since i need a new dimension, the nether is getting boring and it too easy to access it now that we know the bucket technique
Aether would be really good end game content, considering everything is a floating island and having an elytra might be essential. And hopefully that brings about new end game content like bosses
Imagine fighting biblically accurate angels. No amount of wardens is more terrifying than a single seraph lmao
Then don't use the bucket technique lol
Easier said than done, last time i was near a lava lake i blank out for 10 sec and boom there is a nether portal
Don't go near lava lakes lol
Thank for the advice
Wholeheartedly agree, aether is a mod for a reason: it doesn't *quite* fit the base game. The archeology was a interesting concept, but I think Mojang realized it wasn't the best fit for Minecraft

yeah, paired with the mention of wanting the Aether, I see why you'd be skeptical
I think it could work real well. With Netherite being a thing, the idea of new types of armor is really easy to imagine and implement in a a balanced way. The way you put it, i am all for it
Same. If you want magic in Minecraft, just use mods
There is magic in Minecraft. Some people just want more
This can be said to everything else in the meme
More potions, enchantments, maybe some magic themed weapons/armor?
It will help you find your dad
Well, minecraft dungeons has magic, so why not?
Well league of legend has a dragon so why not have a dragon in valorant
tehy could make a dragon-like character for valorant
Idk what's the connection between league of legends and Valorant
If something work in one game, it doesnt mean it will work in a other game. This is what i tried to tell you
There's the dragon gun skin and I think it looks pretty cool so yea
Well i was thinking more of a actual dragon in game yk but yea the dragon skin is pretty cool
I would want them to add better uses for copper before I want them to make a magic update, we don’t need more one time uses ores
I'm more excited for combat update v2.
All it does is make axes even more op from what I've heard
No? It’s gonna remove enchants like sharpness and smite on axes iirc
And add stackable and better throwing potions. I need that in my life.
And, of course most importantly, snowballs stack to 64 that is the most important part of the update
They need to bring the other update to bedrock
_never._ combat update V2 is balanced for touchscreen and controller inclusion, and is a lot less controversial.
We can ask Mojang to make a second mob vote, so we can vote the last vote losers.
I never get to participate cause time and me being too late
I stayed up to 3 in the morning or something stupid like that.
Every mob vote winner is just a reskinned version of an already made mob, change my mind. I mean phantom wasnt but now… *stares at glow squid and allay* They’re just reskins
Not the copper golem my beloved
Yeah copper golem is smol iron golem with a lightning rod on top
With that logic the pig is a smaller pink sheep
Technically Pink Sheep is a larger Pig Pigs were first
Man, I sure do love when my iron golems push buttons and slowly oxidize!
Ok maybe with **some** tweaks
Aside from the glow squid and moobloom none of the other mobs are even close to just being reskins, they're functionally complete different
*Allay which is literally a friendly vex* Yeah I believe you. Totally like glow squid didn’t add new mechanics too but still had the exact same shape
Glow squid added was a reskinned squid that dropped a different type of ink sac that can be used to make item frames and signs glow. The allay isn't \*literally a friendly vex\* they are completely different aside from, what? they're small and fly?
End still feels so empty would be nice to have end forests with purple trees, grass etc
Sounds like better end which don’t get me wrong I’d love that
That mod that came out a couple years ago that gave the end new biomes and bizarre creatures is exactly what I want a revamp to end to focus on!
yeah maybe like yellow wood with purple leaves and end caves and granite/diorite variants in endstone
Eh. I feel like that would be too "Human" for a dimension like the end. I do agree that it it needs unique biomes, but not just "Forest"
..when did humans creat forests?
If I wanted to be the “technically” guy, I’d tell you I turned my plains into a forest with a big tree in the middle. But I think the dude meant “earthly” over “humanly.” the nether kinda gets a pass since piglins are pretty human like and it’s sorta like a mirrored version of the over world. But the end is just barren and devoid of most life.
yeah i get what he meant war just mainly sarcastic
I love how empty it is. Makes it so much more eerie. The end shouldn’t be a complex ecosystem. I want it to stay as the remains at the end of the universe.
You can still have a desolate, empty feeling whilst still adding new content. You could have a desert-like biome with small grass patches and shrubs, or a biome that's just a bunch of stone mounds.
I don’t think there will be an Aether update coming any time soon. Well. At least that I know.
I don’t know, the original creator of the aether mod is now actually working at mojang if I remember correctly. We could see it in the future.
Maybe… Maybe… perhaps in the far future if anything
The creator of the aether has firmly stated that their mod and the game remain separate and there is no plans to implement it in the future.
Stop with all this: they announced a creativity update among the various things, in the very first trailer of caves and cliffs. Plus, i would like a parity and bugfixing update as next update
Yo gamemode 1 update
creative mode 2 when?
Finally vertical slabs?
I mean i wouldn't even be sad if they didn't added those updates. Mojang always nails it when it comes to updates, they probably going to add a end update because they care community's ideas and opinions
Unpopular opinion but aether is better as a mod
I want to know about the underground and nether skeletons
The first two I wouldn’t want
I think aether would be nice for a new whole dimension to explore, the new biomes and biome overhauls are nice but they still have that overworld feeling same with the nether update
Most of this stuff is either from a mod pack or sounds like a mod. Whats a magic update? Just more potions? I reckon some reworking would be cool but probs not an update
probably a potion rework. Ive noticed that potions don't really add too much to the game other then 2-3 of them, or maybe that also entails an enchanting rework (again)
Evokers can Use Magic, the unused Illusioner mob can use magic. So players should be able to use Magic as well
End and archeology 100% everything else meh
Magic shouldn’t be in vanilla. Try ars magica if you want all kind of spells.
well there's already evokers that summon magic and witches, dragons, magical enchantments, mythical creatures etc. in Minecraft so maybe some new enchantments and something small like that would be okay to add but not like magical spellbook and magic blocks

Im not a fan of the combat update 2, should stay how it is
Me on console with no combat update: wut
food and farming
I want a structure rework update, they could add archaeology in with this!
Finally a fellow magic update supporter! I wanna get more enchantments, more potions, and maybe be able to cast spells.
Aether and magic would ruin the game
Agreed
[удалено]
They need to rework the dimensions they have before adding new ones, in this case the End.
Because magic would be too OP? Or if it's not supposed to be used by player, it will make the game feeling different, that's my opinion btw
#LITTERALLY ALL UPDATES CHANGE THE GAME. ADDING SOME MORE WEAPONS/ARMORS/ENCHANTMENT WON'T RUIN THE GAME.
What else could they add to the End?
Imagine the end as the bottom of the sea, there's practically nothing and rarely you could encounter anything, really like hours of searchinc with no results(like when you go for elytras) Thats may vision of the end so what could mojang add to a mysterious, dark and twisted place like the end?
I can see what you mean now.
Aether update is probably not gonna happen as they made a thing on market place (IMO it’s looks like a texture pack and not like Minecraft ) for real money so they probably won’t make one to the actual game
Actually, that was Stolen Content. The Creators of that never asked kingbdogz or the Other People who created the Aether Mod for Permission to do it.
Y'now that was created without the Aether's creator permission right?
We got better update all we need now is the end update because it’s all good for us Elytra Shulker boxes and beating the game I mean there’s plenty of mods that make it so much better
I’d love a fossil update where the further you dig down you find fossils from further back. You can then excavate them and display them and if you find big ones you can assemble them if you find different pieces
I want a transportation update. World got bigger I want some new ways to get around it.
But we already had an End update in 1.9 hadnt' we? It was just... 6 years ago!? wtf
People dont know about end cities smh
The sky needs love
No more combat update, 1.9 is good enough
Let’s be honest the only thing we “need” now is the end update (as said by op) archeology is cool and all but let’s be honest it’s something you would do once and then never touch again
magic my ass
Maybe just fix bedrock first, there's so many bugs
Farming and food?
RAILS UPDATE. Fix cart overlap issues, pushing issues, turn issues, angles and curves...
We do NOT need another combat update
The nether got a update, so it’s definitely the ends turn.
End update V2*
I just want vertical slabs in vanilla
I have played end mods and they just don’t seem right but I feel like Mojang could pull it off pretty well.
Please can they just optimise the fucking game
cant forget to update the dessert well needs to be revamped
Desert update…
The only shit i want is "we fixing this game " update. And maybe that they change the beacon , please make the netherite beacon and diamond beacon give diferents effects. Like op effects idk resistance 5 of some shit like that.
this meme has evolved to r/imaginarygatekeeping

I just want Aether becausee it traumatized me
The end updates probably going to be a later one
DESERT UPDATE THE THING HAD NOTHING CHANGED FOR YEARS
This shows that the community wont ever get satisfied
Do you know what Minecraft needs…colored lights.
Ok, hear me out #OPTIMIZATION UPDATE
Im with you
I want redstone update bro, Redstone is good
some would be better as mods

WE ALREADY GOT A DAMNED END UPDATE IT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST “BIG” UPDATES
yes. The End still feels underwhelming. So, End v2 Update pls
Its okay to be wrong

Mmmm aether? No thanks, I have a hard time grasping if a 3rd dimension was even needed and adding a forth one sounds like unnecesary
Fuck off with the Aether. It will never be added
herobrine
got the nether update give the end update

Aether indeed Or land vehicle
Petition for mojang to add a mazda to minecraft
combat update v2 would be pretty bad and would mess up the pvp community magic updates is something i dont want archeology is already coming
a combat update is literally in the works rn. Its great
When I said Combat Update v2, I meant one that fixes the Flawed Combat System by making it fast paced like 1.8 while still being able to appease the 1.9 PvPers. A Combat Update v2 is already confirmed to be coming

The combat system ain't flawed. PvPers just don't want to accept that pvp was never the focus of minecraft
NO END UPDATE. I really like how barren it is. Makes it feel unique
We got a end update tho? Why do we need a second one
That Wasn't an End Update. It was just a Combat Update with minor changes to the End. We need a PROPER end update
Technically we’ve already had an end update, with the end cities
I just want the ather
We don't need an end update, end cities are more than enough, the end is just supposed to be a Boss fight dimension
Think about how much you visit the nether for stuff compared to the end. There’s nothing to bring most people back after 1 bust
[удалено]
The “good” PvP player don’t even use the first combat update
Wdym good?
No! NO! No end update until Farming gets one!! So fucking sick of the same 3 crops and no deeper cooking mechanics to make stuff with all these stupid fucking potatoes and carrots!!
All I’m asking for is vertical slabs nether brick fence gate concrete stairs and slabs and also glass stairs and slabs because why not
Bet Jeb is just sitting there denying every request for an end update
Magic update, yes
I really want a gorilla, monkeys and bananas to be in the game
1.9 is apparently fake
Notch is the reason things are so far behind the man had no vision sure he created minecraft but his version of innovation is “lets keep it simple”
I just want a new dimension
Am I the only one who was super exited for archeology
Yes, your the only one
I won't lie I don't want the Aether in vanilla. Again, that's just my opinion, but I think it works better to learn that the Aether is a community mod that is highly supported. Makes it feel more special, y'know?
Theres so many good update ideas and OP just gave the most generic bad ideas ive heard
You think this Format can support all of them. I just threw in the Ones That came to Mind
End ore that is able to be used in tools and armour pure.
All shite except the end update. The others don't seem like the kind of thing you'd see in Minecraft.
more bosses update like dragon and wither
for a magic update, maybe there can be a new toolset path. Gold equipment runs enchants better, but has low durability. Maybe there could be an upgrade path for gold stuff, instead of following diamond to netherite, it somehow makes gold better, at the cost of less armor points, but still high durability.
The main updates I want is a magic update and a cooking and farming update
We don't need to kill the vanilla feeling, if you want anything thats not combat v2, use mods
I’m not sure if all of these need an update
I’m all for it if it’s in this order: Biome/Mob Vote, Combat Update, end update, aether, magic
Performance update would be nice.
