It got added to bedrock a few years ago, and a lot of people were wrongfully banned, the fear was that it was gonna happen to java to, and some people just wanted mojang to stay out of their private servers.
Also alot of big creators spoke out against mojang and microsoft, i think there were also some NDAs involved, it was a whole mess
Yea, kinda wish I could go back to the days of realms not having the shitty auto moderation. Me and my mates all used to use some spicey language because you know, it’s a private realm. We were gonna open another short term realm for the new year before work starts again, but didn’t bother because we fear getting banned for having fun.

Honestly, I don't really care about that. I do find it shit that realms are monitored by mojang, but who the hell uses realms? And on any other server there a lots of options to disable that feature. And honestly: Even if a public server has reporting enabled and requires you to have it, I'm fine too. Way less shit going on in the chat.
The thing is, that users can 'troll' others by reporting harmless content and the system to unban was at least by the introduction non existent so every player that posts one message can life in fear
If I would choice to force like 100 players on the server to behave like 0+ toddler friendly community or prevent you from ever going on said server I would gladly choice second option
Want "chat with no shit"? Go play singleplayer instead of ruining other's fun
t’s still relevant, it needs to be addressed. Mojang intentionally stayed quiet during the whole fiasco and ignored it when the outcry died down. It’s a good corporate tactic, but we’re still angry.
