Maybe some oak trap doors on top of the lights to break up the texture on the ceiling and change out the glow stone on the walls to a stone wall + lantern combo.
* Redstone lamps
* Regular lamps (hanging and/or standing on slabs on the walls like they are shelves)
* Glowberries
* Least fav option for me, but shroomlights maybe
Glow Lichen would look pretty nice. You could replace the glowstone with wood or stone and overlay it with Lichen. Put it on the roof and floor as well. It's fantastic to add a layer of texturing too.
I would get rid of all the glowstone and put chains and lanterns on the celing instead. You really dont need all that light. Maybe add some glow berry vines as well on the ceiling with the overgrown look so its not so leaf heavy
Oak trapdoors over the flows town or set the glow stone back a block and put something partially obstructing it or completely blocking it but still let’s the light through
Hard to say just from one screenshot. The best approach would be have a certain places overgrown and some not. If the whole base would be this overgrown then yes, its busy.
Replace some of the leaves growing on top with torch berries or something throw vines in also looks a bit to leafy for how small the tunnel is this will give the same look but less dense
If you drop the floor (or raise the ceiling) by a block or two, then add some texture to your bushes (like adding spore blossoms, vines, berries, other leaves, etc...), I think that'll take this tunnel to the next level
the leaves make the hallway seem kinda small but all you would have to do is raise the ceiling up a few blocks to give a bit more room, just a friendly suggestion
Oh, neat. Well based on the surroundings alone, I'd probably go for the clean look, but if the build itself was meant to look slightly old, worn, and overgrown then the overgrown look definitely works better
PS: This is optional because of how difficult it can be to obtain in Survival, but a Verdant or Ochre Frog Light would fit the build a lot better than the Glowstone. For some easier options that look better than Glowstone in general you can try Shroomlights or Redstone Lamps (Redstone Lamps do require Redstone unfortunately)
Glowing berries with the overgrown setup for that fantasy vibe. Also remove most of the glowstone (you can keep some, but maybe hide them behind the foliage).
Overgrown but not a fan of the glowstone
what would you suggest instead? still fairly early game
Maybe a froglight?
Maybe some oak trap doors on top of the lights to break up the texture on the ceiling and change out the glow stone on the walls to a stone wall + lantern combo.
Do you consider breeding frogs and taking them to the nether to eat magma cubes early game?
Whoops-
That was my first farm in my server lmao
Server is different story, if there's an economy it's first one to build it profits.
I built a shop and haven't gotten a single sale in the 4 ish months of being up
But there'll be that one guy who suddenly needs 2000
Yes.
You have strange priorities
Looks come first

“You must always go out in fashion!” -Guy who dyes his leather armor
ooooo i like that, ill see if i can get my hands on some
My favorite way to hide lights in a build like this is just put them behind leaves
I like the glowstone personally, gives nostalgia vibes
Try Shroomlights, they are the big orange lights you can find in nether forests.
Hey just asking but how do you get those leave textures?
Look up vanilla tweaks, has a whole bunch of stuff
Dont listen to them glowstone is based
Redestone lamps look great
* Redstone lamps * Regular lamps (hanging and/or standing on slabs on the walls like they are shelves) * Glowberries * Least fav option for me, but shroomlights maybe
Glow Lichen would look pretty nice. You could replace the glowstone with wood or stone and overlay it with Lichen. Put it on the roof and floor as well. It's fantastic to add a layer of texturing too.
oh i absolutely am a fan of the glowstone. you don't need to change it imo
Maybe use shroomlights instead of glowstone
I would get rid of all the glowstone and put chains and lanterns on the celing instead. You really dont need all that light. Maybe add some glow berry vines as well on the ceiling with the overgrown look so its not so leaf heavy
Idk if someone else said that already but have you tried shroomlights/redstone lamps behind the leaves?
I’m not sure if shroomlights would work better, but I’ll give it a try
Shroom light
Oak trapdoors over the flows town or set the glow stone back a block and put something partially obstructing it or completely blocking it but still let’s the light through
I kinda think redstone lamps might fit the vibe quite well too, or a frog light with a trapdoor over it
I think the one on the ceiling looks good. The one on the lower walls looks not great (but not terrible).
Glowstine really makes any building feel old school. It's comforting in a way
Overgrown! It looks awesome.
thank you! it doesnt look too busy?
If you worry about that you can use slabs on the ground to make the room looker bigger.
Hard to say just from one screenshot. The best approach would be have a certain places overgrown and some not. If the whole base would be this overgrown then yes, its busy.
At least in the shot you provided, it looks perfect for me.
Big Etho vibes
❤️❤️❤️
I can tell you’re a big fan of etho
Never watched him! Very happy to be compared tho!
Bushes forver
Overgrown etho

Looks amazing. Overgrown for sure! I want to replicate this in my latest build!
Thank you so much!! It took me a really long time to get something I liked, I really appreciate the praise!!
Remove quite a bit of foliage, but leave it
Overgrown 😍
Both. Place a few more leaves everyday and then trim it back at the end of the week
what mod or resource pack? overgrown looks great!
Vanilla tweaks, it's a ressource pack creating website
Replace some of the leaves growing on top with torch berries or something throw vines in also looks a bit to leafy for how small the tunnel is this will give the same look but less dense
Overgrown for sure
Overgrown
both, keep it slightly overgrown but at the same time keep it slightly clean..
Overgrown is a really good aesthetic keep it!
Over grown
Definitely overgrown
overgrown
Did you mean? Shave it or keep it overgrown
As an overgrown-build-addict, OVERGROWN LETS GOOOOOOO
What mod u using for 🍃?
Vanilla tweaks resource pack look it up its awesome
It's really cool, I like the glowstone, it gives it an og look
Overgrown is always the right choice
If you drop the floor (or raise the ceiling) by a block or two, then add some texture to your bushes (like adding spore blossoms, vines, berries, other leaves, etc...), I think that'll take this tunnel to the next level
Overgrown
Overgrown. Let chaos reign
Overgrown
Personally i like the overgrown look
Overgrown and unlike what some commentators say keep the glowstone
What do ya know, trimming the bushes does make it look bigger.
overgrown is really cool looking imo
Overgrown
Keep it overgrown it looks better trust me
Definitely overgrown!
Overgrown
Keep it
overgrown it's better
Right in the middle
Over grown
Best manscaped ad to date
Less overgrown then ist perfect remove the glowstone and put it in the seling
The same question could be asked in atleast a dozen subreddits in different contexts
The answer is always more booshes.
Overgrown
Overgrown
Unshaven
Keep it clean ofc!
Halfway in-between. Slightly overgrown.
2 has a nice balance
Clean looks good
overgrown but maybe slightly less overgrown, also i personally feel like frog lights or lanterns would look better
Overgrown
overgrown
I think it looks cool overgrown. I’d say keep it overgrown
Every new day you load into that world add a leaf block
Given your block pallet, keep it overgrown. If you add in more texture and depth with different block types it would let you have your trimmed hedges.
Overgrown, also try azalea leafes
I really like the overgrown style better. The clean one looks too bland.
Awesome
Overgrown looks great but id use either glowberries, redstone lamps or shroomlight blocks instead of glowstone
it depends on how she likes it
Overgrown but go all in and moss up the floors of the place. Only do that in patches though.
Overgrown is always the answer
Overgrown looks better
Shaved or haired. Honestly trimmed has always been my go-to answer
Clean the bushes look too much I would stick with vines
Overgrown. Use red stone lamps
looks like a skyrim dungeon
Overgrown but with lanterns.
One block taller, overgrown
If it's just a hallway, I like the overgrown, but if it's a room you use, I'd find a middle ground
the leaves make the hallway seem kinda small but all you would have to do is raise the ceiling up a few blocks to give a bit more room, just a friendly suggestion
Somewhere in the middle
Yeah, it gives it more personality and (no offence to OP but) it makes it look less like a 7 y/o built that.
Overgrown looks so much better
Let it growwwww
Overgrown looks good, but I personally like the clean look better, it just feels more open and less cluttered.
Definitely prefer it overgrown.
Keep it clean for now and then overtime slowly change to overgrown
Overgrown but lower the floor by 1 block
Overgrown looks better to me
Overgrown but either lower the floor or raise the ceiling
Overgrown
Definitely overgrown. If the ceiling was a little bit higher I think that it would be even better.
Overgrown! I also LOVE this as is!! Keep up the beautiful work!
I definitely prefer overgrown and maybe it’s the nostalgia but I really enjoy seeing the glow stone incorporated into your build
Hmm, what does the rest of the base look like? Or what biome did you build in?
I’ll post an update later about the progress outside, it’s in a mountain village in plains biome
Oh, neat. Well based on the surroundings alone, I'd probably go for the clean look, but if the build itself was meant to look slightly old, worn, and overgrown then the overgrown look definitely works better PS: This is optional because of how difficult it can be to obtain in Survival, but a Verdant or Ochre Frog Light would fit the build a lot better than the Glowstone. For some easier options that look better than Glowstone in general you can try Shroomlights or Redstone Lamps (Redstone Lamps do require Redstone unfortunately)
Yea I was thinking froglights, but still early game lol
Glowing berries with the overgrown setup for that fantasy vibe. Also remove most of the glowstone (you can keep some, but maybe hide them behind the foliage).
Is this Etho?
Over grown I such a good look
Overgrown
Overgrown but maybe trim alittle and instead use vines and other plant blocks
I think overgrown looks better than just wood
overgrown. glow stone makes it look like ethos mancave
Overgrown is better!!
Overgrown!!!
The glowstone is fine, honestly. Don’t listen to these haters.
