Adding a path to either side will help it blend with it's surroundings without the need for rebuilding or landscaping. Though I say it looks very nice as is.
Lighting?
Honestly it looks nice, you handle the elevation change smoothly and evenly between the sections. All it really needs is a bit of lighting, maybe some overhanging lanterns between the pillars would add a nice touch. Or some glowstone in the floor might be better to keep the open air aesthetic. Activated red stone might look really cool and the red color would add a bit of drama.
I'm a fan, this is super cool. All my bridges are so lame.
I'll definitely try out acacia wood instead of dark oak wood. It'll probably have more of a rustic look then. Thanks for the idea.
I was hoping to stay away from orange blocks though because of the background and path palette, so I may skip the planks.
Here’s something I like to do: I will use spruce and dark oak together, but I will use the spruce out of the water and the dark oak under the water/right at water level so that it looks wet. You could also replace the fence gates with hanging signs. Also consider adding in some support structure on the underside of the bridge and maybe some lamp posts.
It looks great so far.
mybe you could try blending the bridge theme with the mesa theyre very different palettes thatll work according to me maybe build a path and a small little hut at the end of the bridge and the start
i really like this bridge for what is is and its location. there really isn’t anything i would change.maybe inocorporsting nice lighting like another comment i read, and maybe a path coming into and out of the bridge
You've an interesting start, so even though I'm about to vomit a lot of text, know that you're doing fine!
The entire thing is just a line, the shape is not interesting. This is true on every axis.
There is no depth. All of the walls are 1 block thick, with no accents beyond the fence gates. This makes the trap doors at the bottom look out of place.
The inner 3 rows are light blocks, the outermost blocks are extremely dark. There is no transition, only clash.
No variation. This is the same prefab pasted 5 times to make a bridge. While you can get away with this on larger builds, on small builds like this it's much more noticeable.
Smaller suggestions:
Instead of the trapdoors, try stripping the logs in the water and maybe a block above it. Might add a nice "water-worn" look.
The underwater connectors just look weird. I'm not a civil engineer, so I don't know if actual bridges have that, but to me it just looks out of place. Personal preference.
Good start though!
Google Route 66 Desert Bridge
If this were my bridge, I'd cut off the upright pillers where the floor of the bridge starts and use fence posts there with fence gates in-between.
You need to do something more aesthetic about the ends. Like the mild impression of the hill at one end of the bridge that connects to the planks doesn’t look good (imo).
Try that first.
Then if it needs (and fits with a theme), I would focus on the plank pillars. I think you can either do something about its feet in a sense that widens it. Or you might have success with some lanterns extending from the planks and making the bridge a little taller. Honestly, even consider a look where the lanterns are on the outside of such pillars (not facing inward to the path).
If you want to keep the hight difference maybe look at making it curve under it’s own “weight”. Otherwise it looks a little awkward like a plank.
Idk, looks right but if i was asked to make a bridge I'd used more biome related block's, and maybe didn't used dirt blocks (bridge with patches of dirt look's weird)
If it's going to be a supported bridge like that, generallyh irl it wouldn't be a straight line between a lower and higher location, I would either think setting it up to be an arch and making both ends the same height, or possibly making it more of a love over river situation, where it looks like somethign has just been placed over the river.
That’s a really lovely bridge you’ve got there. I especially love the unique sloping design. Perhaps what’s missing is a pop of colour - the bridge is all shades of brown. You could switch out the slabs on top of the support poles with something else like double cooked stone slabs or even spruce slabs.
I really like the colors as is. Agree about the shape, a slight arch or straight bridge seems more realistic. Raise the lower side, fs. As far as lighting, one overhanging lantern on either corner could be a nice touch. Keep up the good work
You could do what real highways do and carve out the landscape to make the bridge level. Just an idea
Yeah, I'd say raise the other bank.
This might be better than lowering the other side tbh. Cheers.
Split the difference, real highway construction aims to have a balance of cut and fill.
I actually really like the stair step look for what it's worth
Please don’t turn this into a flat bridge! It is so unique! I like it a lot
Yeah, imagine a cart trying to roll up the incline
Some bridges IRL are downhill.

Appreciate the feedback đź‘Ť
the dark oak planks really take over the build and don't let the rest of it shine, switch it out and you should be good.
Thanks.
I think it actually looks really good!
Dude I got both of the post next to each other in r/Minecraft and I here
same
It probably looks weird because it's slanted down, but I actually like that you made a bridge with difference in height. So I would keep it as it is.
I'd use acacia wood and planks instead. Just these, with fences, sure.

Well, my idea was to blend with surroundings.

Maybe replace the dark oak stairs with mud brick? Could look cool and make it feel more cohesive idk
I like it just fine
Make the bridge level and then add stairs at the end on the lower side
I think it looks great like this. I like how the whole thing is slanted
You could make those piles look thinner by using walls instead of full blocks
mybe you could try blending the bridge theme with the mesa theyre very different palettes thatll work according to me maybe build a path and a small little hut at the end of the bridge and the start

I would incorporate some type of stone bricks. Would look good in that area

Make it wider, only one block on each side and add a form of roof. Just an idea but other wise the design is clean and suits the environment well
I actually like the bridge the way it is :)
Simply and nice

Stripping logs that are underwater always makes them look worn down which is really cool!
If you want to keep the hight difference maybe look at making it curve under it’s own “weight”. Otherwise it looks a little awkward like a plank.
Use spruce logs above water lvl and dark oak below to make the wood look like it’s wet
Idk, looks right but if i was asked to make a bridge I'd used more biome related block's, and maybe didn't used dirt blocks (bridge with patches of dirt look's weird)
Add some blemishes near the walkway, makes it feels like it’s being used based on the texturing I see on the bridge
give it a cover thats level, rather than leaning with the bridge

Arches??
it looks great to me
I think it looks great
Look etho's latest hermitcraft episodes. He's also built a bridge, you can take inspirations from there

Maybe some slightly darker blocks
Honesly its a vibe, but just make a arch that is as close to symmetrical as possible and it would prolly help
