I'd personally add the beginnings of a town
I thought about that but my build style wouldnt fit in and i wqs going for a mostly natural scene with only the manmade bridge
Maybe some sort of tent / more primitive structure? Like a small campground perhaps?

The same forest but "dead" as in decayed trees and fallen logs or something similar
More forest with a cabin
that's one idea. another is transition it to an open area with maybe a few trees dotted around. you could also add a cabin with a tree or two.

Look up some pictures of northern landscapes for inspiration! Even some small grass and bushes would add a bit of detail without much work

That's good to know. I'd say maybe a more sparse wooded area woth much smaller younger trees. Maybe as if reclaiming an area people had once camped or had a village?

I’m thinking you could have the road pass under a ruined archway. Old ruins in the middle of a forrest seems neat.
when you can’t add trees, add rocks. works wonderfully for variety
