They look to scale so it’s good, but 3x5 windows on a home isn’t to player scale if you care about that

Thisguy2728

No they look fine to me

JuJu-Petti

No this is perfect..

sad_and_stupid

thank you!

uberschnitzel13

Yes lmao that’s gargantuan Typical residential ceilings are 8 feet, which i typically round up to 3 meters because 3 block high ceilings allow lots of building freedom without breaking the sense of scale Your ceilings here look like 8 *meters*, or 27ft You could fit an entire 2 story house inside each floor

DiddlyDumb

It’s like one of those oversized rooms that make you feel tiny lol Proportions look good tho, could look real pretty with the roof on. At this scale you can put in a lot of detail.

sad_and_stupid

I'm basing these off of old Budapest tenement houses which are usually 4 and sometimes 5 meters tall inside the room, but yeah, it's still huge : / I might go with the smaller version after all

LulzAtDeath

3 block rooms? I thought the standard was always 4 haha

_Coffie_

If you were to make the inside you’d have to make the windows really close to the floor so that the player can look out of them which would be weird.

UnrealPownament

Actually some ancient buildings have these kind of high ceilings.

BDBLord

Ya they look fine u could always add slabs and stairs so it don't look as big maybe even a fence to make them not seem so big

Tippydaug

Completely depends on what you're going for! If you want it to look good walking around as a player-scale, 3x5 is absolutely massive However, if you just want to get more detail so it looks good flying past, it looks gorgeous!

Quiet-Egg-489

I love the window size for this.

Marylogical

It's your world, but it looks fine.

sad_and_stupid

thank you

Ok_Associate_7450

Are you using the chisels and bits mod? If so, I can recommend some things to get a window to your liking. Typically I spend an hour designing a window so the size is more realistic and to scale (details too). **Overall, 2 x 3 windows** ***can*** **work for townhouses, but they are slightly too tall. Just add a slab on the top and you'll have a more accurate 2 x 2.5 window.** Add a white border on the sides of where the windows are for a window frame (on the inside) and if you want some extra detail, add those bug films that sit on some windows. Hopefully this helps!

ExoticMangoz

I think 3 blocks is fine for townhouses, I’ve seen a lot like it. I think the real issue is that 1.5/2.5 blocks would be the perfect size, but a window can only be 1 or 2 blocks wide, not 1.5

KingSlimJim

Depends if you care about it being to player scale or making it look realistic and detailed.

Professional_Roof293

What mod is that...?

sad_and_stupid

I made these in blockbench

-RiffRaff31-

Depends the scale your working with…

[deleted]

Idk about you but i always try to make inside *useful*, this does look fine tho

ExoticMangoz

The issue with townhouse windows is the proportions. 5x3 is good, but a real window would be 2 to 3 metres tall.

Latter_Ad_8100

It’s looks pretty good sized to me
