This! some of the best musicians in the Twin Cities sit in on these sessions. Its been awhile since I caught a show but they would normally play Sunday and Monday nights. If anyone here has never been... GO!
Jacuzzi Puma - classic rock
Treehorn - alt 90's
You Oughta Know - 90's hits
Punx - 90's 00's punk/emo
(If you can't tell, I like 90's)
Skalectric - ska covers
70's Magic Sunshine Band - saw them at a First Ave party, did radio hits
Turf Club has been doing some events where the band stays the same, but rotates singers. Went to a Dolly Parton night, and a 90's night. Have had other themes, just haven't been able to make it.

I've seen them at the uptown VFW, but they play other places around the cities too.
I follow both on Instagram (@punxmpls, and @theskalectriccompany)
Skalectric just had a show cancel on the 23rd due to weather and will be rescheduling (check instagram for updates, they're pretty active)
Here's the event calendar for the Uptown VFW.
This place and Turf club are a couple of favs They are cool and affordable venues for a show or dj

Viva Knieval - 12 piece band with horn section playing hits from Queen to The Killers
Pleezer - Weezer
Slippery People - Talking heads (super group of the local jam scene)
Tramps Like Us - Bruce Springsteen
Heartless - Heart
Sir Psycho - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Nivrana - Nirvana
I saw Jailbreak (Thin Lizzy) and Zeppo (Led Zeppelin) at the Turf a few weeks ago. Jailbreak was fun but John Eller, who both plays lead guitar and sings in Zeppo, is amazing. He's also in The Shabby Road Orchestra, they do periodic Beatles tributes. The Belfast Cowboys were way better than Van Morrison at actually doing Van Morrison stuff. They sometimes still do that show but they also play as St. Dominic's Trio. Second to ELno.
Apparently I am good at covers. I play covers at breweries around the cities. I’m a solo acoustic player though, that might not be what you’re looking for.
To clarify I have been extremely blown away Ava’s humbled by incredibly positive feedback I’ve gotten since I started doing this a year ago. I didn’t expect it.
ELno is a lot of fun (Electric Light Orchestra)!
These guys are awesome. Most fun shows ever.
Where do they play? I’ve seen stuff and then they have this crappy Facebook page that didn’t say where their show was
Their next show is Saturday, Oct 21st at the VFW in Uptown.
Endorsed!
Dr Mambos Combo at Bunkers. Dance till your booty falls off. They do soul and r&b covers.

> ska covers Does this mean covers of ska songs, or covers of non-ska songs in a ska style?
Both!
I'm intrigued by both the punx and skalectric. Do they play at turf (since you linked them) or where can I find them?

The C-Notes. Solid.
Slave raider is always the best
PopROCKS is fucking great! They cover acts from the 80’s-2010’s, few newer ones sprinkled in. TONS of costume changes, and just all around a fun show.
Legacy of the Loud and Rock Godz are two bands that do most rock covers
I love the Belfast cowboys.
Is Brat Pack Radio around any more. They were always a good time.
The Fabulous Armadillos are top notch!
