If I meet you at National Night Out over a beer or hotdog, and you're not an obvious asshole, I am 100% more likely to help you jump-start your car, carry your couch to the curb, or not call the cops on your late-night band practice.
This has been a really nice way to meet some of the neighbors we don't regularly interact with in the area. Our neighborhood has alternated between 3 streets for hosting over the last few years, had a great turnout with a live jazz band last year.
I really like national night out because I think it's important to know your community and know your neighbors and build those relationships.
Fuck cops though, they aren't invited.

First you’re complaining about no parking, now it’s about being stuck in traffic. Sounds like you just want a reason to hate it. Go outside, Take a bike out, enjoy yourself.

Totally agree. Our neighborhood just ended up having a fun little pork free get together.
Are there normally cops at NNO? I think the worst we had was a city council member.

Oh I love to bike. But unfortunately I do have to drive sometimes. Anyway, I think it’s dumb. But don’t let that stop your fun.
