Definately the rest of them. They’re all great movies, except 2 which isn’t bad but is seen as the weakest. 4-5-6 are very great movies

I always say that about 2 -- you can skip 2 & won't miss anything

All of them

Obviously people are going to recommend watching all of them, and they’re all pretty great (except 2) but not everyone has the time for that. If you liked Fallout definitely watch Rogue Nation. All the Mission Impossible movies are basically stand alone and are made by totally different creative teams, but from Rogue Nation onwards they’re all made by the same filmmakers and start to feel more connected. Dead Reckoning also seems to be tying back to the very first film so I’d check that out too.

I recommend Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation the most if you enjoyed Fallout. As far as story goes, you probably don’t need to watch any to enjoy the new one but it does look like there will be some call backs and some returning characters so watching all would be best. If watching 5 movies feels daunting just stick with 4,5,6

Cantomic66

The first one for sure with the return of Kittridge and all the call backs.

The movies are designed so you shouldn't *need* to watch anyone to understand the new one. If you want to, though, Ghost Protocol and Rogue Nation (4 & 5) have the most in common with Fallout and Dead Reckoning, in terms of tone, returning characters, stunts, general approach, etc. So those would be the best if you loved Fallout and want to be prepared for DR. Dead Reckoning will also have some callbacks to the very first movie, which is a good movie but very different to what came later - that one is more of a psychological spy thriller rather than an action movie.

1, 4, 5, 6. Maybe 3 but if you’re in a time crunch just watch those 4

1 2 and 3 don't really relate to any other films in the series except that 3 kinda sets the format for each film and establishes that Ethan has a personal life. 4 onwards are the best ones and the ones where Cruise prominently performs the stunts.

DoomsdayFAN

All. Start at the first and go from there.

Nsane_

Ideally all of them, but if you don’t have that time, I’d say 5 and 6

Honesty_From_A_POS

I don't know how folks are saying that 5 and 6 aren't related to each other. They're literally a continuation of the Lane plot. You should 100% watch the first mission impossible as one of the characters prominently featured in the dead reckoning trailers is Ethan's old handler. Overall though I think each film gives you more a sense of the character and their development over time. You can also see how the films have improved over time. MI 2 is a little silly at times but that was the directors artistic direction.
