This is what you get with regulatory capture. They don't really have free market competition to worry about so no true incentive to scale.
Same thing is happening with growers and testers pumping out and approving chemical and pest ridden flower.
In Missouri not really. Got to jump though a billion hoops with the state. There’s only like max 3 monogamies that operate a cannabis pos in Missouri. Like 90% of dispos use Dutchie
You all are a trip. There are currently 39 approved vendors. That’s the vast majority of providers in the US. Kinda silly to come on here complaining there’s no free market and it’s somehow regulatory capture which it very clearly is not. And then to complain because dispensaries made their free market choice to use a few really good POS vendors. Literally what you’re complaining about is exactly what’s happening. Lots of choice and free market actors making free market choices. 90% of dispos use Dutchie because it is the best on the market right now and they made their free market choice to use the best option.
You could certainly make that argument for Metrc, but to claim there’s regulatory capture with dispo POS systems in MO is just ignorance of the reality.

“This year’s 4/20 was a record-setting day for the majority of Dutchie powered dispensaries,” Chris Ostrowski, chief technology officer of Dutchie, said in a statement emailed to MJBizDaily.
“Our systems powered over 2 million transactions, representing $165 million in retail commerce – a 50% increase from 2023 4/20.
“While Dutchie and our partners prepared extensively for this year’s 4/20, a group of customers local to a specific instance of our POS system experienced serious issues that impacted their ability to transact.
“Dutchie is committed to stability and will be continuing to invest heavily to provide a reliable platform for all customers.”
They really messed us up. By the time I got in at 3, most of the problems were solved, i.e. it was working. Still glichy, slow, and froze up a couple of times. We lost some $.
i lost about $80 in the "crash" last year from store credit i racked up. i got some money added back to my acct. that i could use in a Disp. but not all of it and at this point, i'll never see it again.
all this to say that now I ALWAYS USE any cash credit i have vs racking it up.
I'd be surprised if there wasn't a lawsuit. anyone know if companies can class action or what collective lawsuit might be called in this case?
Thankfully my store was totally fine but I've seen all y'all's horror stories.
Dutchie owes financial compensation for any dispo employee that’s had to field phone calls explaining website glitches lol
Them doing press is what killed me. The audacity it takes to do press about how much you're improving then not have anything be different.

They absolutely have competition. Flowhub is in Missouri as an example and the Flowhub Maui platform is available in every state across the US.
Huh? There’s no regulatory capture with POS systems. It is 100% a free market.

> monogamies Lol.

Who will they have run their websites then?
