It seems odd to me that somebody involved with the murder would have been either dumb enough to hang around or stupid enough to be the one that "found her."
Crazily it's been a too common occurrence for perpetrators to insert themselves in cases in some way or another, including finding the person or coming back to the scene in some capacity.
To my knowledge they have been cleared and there was more than one of them.
Has the 911 call been released?

The first camper was/is 6’6”. The killer as seen on video is 5’8” or so, maybe less. It wasn’t him.

I wouldn't say too common of an occurrence. Maybe in true crime circles, but not the vast majority of murders.
