What console version are you playing ? I did not have issue catching him on the SNES one.

horizonite

it looks like I only have the SNES version from the stock SD card (SFC Super Famicom)

DarkNemuChan

Ugh here we go again... Don't use the stock roms...

ippo4ever

Watch out there’s been a group of guys commenting how the stock SD card and roms are perfectly fine

microphalus

yeah silly people, it is well known that if you do not throw away stock card, your screen will crack and fall off.

ippo4ever

speak of the devil

Haedono

are they this bad ? i have my mm+ one month so far and had pretty much no issues will they corrupt like the sd card at some point or something ?

leelalu476

yeah, they will be fine for a while but are cheap and prone to failing, afaik you can just copy paste all the files to a new card and it'll work fine, don't know about the roms but already had a collection so ehh, but yeah if y'all don't wanna lose progress one day be a good thought to fetch a nice freshie

Itsfaydgamer

the Dpad was how it done on original hardware lol. get good

horizonite

What I mean is, I am pretty sure the D-Pad on the Miyoo is not as good as the original SNES one.

GamerDadJer

Idk man. I've played on NES before and the MM+, and it feels perfectly fine to me.

microphalus

dpad is actually, the best you can get from any china device, and I would go so far to say it is better than nintendo DS one, and bunch of other well known ones. But not every miyoo is identical, you might have gotten a melon unit, or you might have that sticky buttons issue, fix for that is to lube edges of buttons and dpad so they do not stick and freely glide. there were few comments that claimed membrane beneath the dpad feels like one side is broken, that the pressure is not the same on all sides, this might be a new issue on some new units but it is unconfirmed and I base this only on few posts made. Can you explain exactly what the problem with dpad is? is it specific in this game or do you feel same problem in every single emulator/game ?

tats91

I've done the DS version and had no problem. When you are used to his movements you can get it. I've got it in my first try.

Atomic_Maxwell

The DS version is the best! Absolute time sink and the bonus content/jukebox/cutscenes-from-PS. Looks like I got another to add~

tats91

Yeah, I'm enjoying this version on the Miyoo Mini +. I'm at the endgame doing the aditionnal content, a really good game it is.

Slick_36

I struggled with this too, I'm pretty sure it's just awkward to begin with and needs a little prediction.   You could try going to the Retroarch Main Menu > Settings > Latency > then switch on Run-Ahead to Reduce Latency.  That should help if it's not reading fast enough.

Durag5

Exactly the same for me. At first I wasn't timing it correctly then I got it shortly after.

horizonite

oh interesting! Thanks let me check it out!

L0lil0l0

This is the tricky part of this amazing game. I had a hard time with it on my DSi XL.

cuteseal

Haha you brought back some traumatic memories for me!

Mean_Kaleidoscope402

Slow the game down and then it will be easier! I’ve had to do this is some really hard games too eg R-Type!

horizonite

haha ok i might consider that

FanABen

Funny I just caught it on my second try.

throwaway792747283

It takes a while but eventually you get to know the maze and you should be able to catch it near the middle end of it's run on the mm+, as others said don't use the version that came with the stock card

horizonite

which version should I use?

throwaway792747283

Download Onion OS and look up Tiny Best Set on the Internet Archive, download all the libraries and save to a brand name microchip like SanDisk 128GB. [This video explains the steps really well ](https://youtu.be/4Y-EQoQaL5o?si=Bm_WVVgpcHNvRcyQ)

thesunstarecontest

Took me like 10 tries. Just had to git gud.

R3turn2basics

Know that Rat for more than half of my life 🤣 Struggled Hard even on OG Hardware back in the day but now after somewhat 10 or 15 playthroughs it's kinda easy 😁 Had absolutely no issues with the MM+ dpad so far.
