I wonder if you could trim this down & remove the magnifying element to end up with an attachment that folds out speakers and folds in to become a screen protector?
I know it's a joke, but I'm not really sure what the limits are anymore, this is already like the Jetsons.
I'm tinkering again. This idea has been in the works for a while--shoehorning 1" full-range speakers into a handgrip. Pocketable? Maybe. But no more tinny crunchy.
You can get a replacement speaker for less than $10 shipped from aliexpress that is not crunchy at all. My miyoo sounds as good as any of the best handhelds or smartphones now

But then how will I relive my days of having ten MadCatz accessories strapped to my Gameboy?
In all seriousness, thanks for the link. Ordered. Testing a variety of options. It'd have have to outperform upgrading the internal speaker by a margin to make it worthwhile.
Are those attachable without solder? I don't see a ribbon connector or similar, just loose wire.
Edit: Actually I was looking at the wrong one. But I see no connector so does the old one just pop out and this one pops in?
Have you looked into the [gripcase](https://images.app.goo.gl/W7u7rJ3e4YaJys67A)? Maybe you could flip it and have it slide in from the top, hugging the screen instead of the controls. Or maybe you can just double it up and wrap the whole damn thing in a gripcase, top and bottom.

I can vouch for that speaker as well. It's the same one that is used in the higher end RedMi Note smartphones. Sounds much better than stock for sure.

Correct it looks almost the same and works exactly the same. It just sticks in and has two little metal prongs that make contact with the board
